I happened to have the need to have some very pesky ground wasps dealt with. For some reason they seem to prefer my lawn when making their nests. Since swarming wasps had become a significant issue, I wanted someone to effectively handle the situation. I ended up with a Rainbow trifecta. Pest control successfully resolved the problem last season. It took several visits (returns dealing with the same trouble are free) but eventually the wasps were completely eliminated. Unfortunately the wasps were back again this year, although in a different location. I called Rainbow and was scheduled for a treatment by one of their technicians. This time I hope to be proactive to prevent a recurrence next year. In any case, I found them to be prompt in their correspondence, effective in their services and reasonable in their prices. I first used this service when I found a mouse in the basement a couple of years ago - so I had them seal the foundation around my house and garage. The customer service is great and the guys who did the work are knowledgeable and professional. I still have regular service to spray for insects which has helped significantly reduce the spiders and crawly things that I used to find in the basement, and the mice also are staying away. I wanted to update to say that the company did reach out to me, and did come back and do a more thorough inspection where they blocked additional entrances into my home. Since then, we have seen only the rare mouse, which feels like a good improvement. I would give their customer support a higher rating than the services because it really seems like the result you get is dependent on who they send and whether that guy feels like doing his job that day. We unfortunately had someone not willing or able to do the job on the first visit, so it was like having a small fire that could have been snuffed out be ignored, and instead grow to consume our home. I think they need some better training or to send more than one person out to ensure that access points are getting filled as early as possible. read more

Huge relief using Rainbow! We had a mouse problem last winter that we tried to tackle ourselves with humane-traps... in 48 hours we had trapped and released 17 mice. So... Obviously this problem was beyond us. Rainbow was not only the best-reviewed online but my neighbors all seemed to rave about them too. When they first came out they set up baits and went around the entire exterior of the house and filled any hole larger than the width of a pencil to ensure that no other mice would get in. They have different tier packages so you can choose a plan that seems the most reasonable to you. Like you can do a mice one then add different services for spiders, ants, etc. and just choose what you need. I personally loved this because there were some things we needed and others we didn't so we weren't overpaying for stuff we wouldn't use. The guy that came over was really intelligent and helpful answering all of my questions, and he clearly had a good eye because we haven't seen evidence of a single mouse since then! I noticed mice in my basement laundry room a few years ago (about 12 within a 3 month span) and gave Rainbow a call. A gentleman came out and confirmed the mice activity and went over my options. I decided to pay the $160 for the mouse bait stations; I believe I have a dozen of them and they say there's enough bait in those to last 10 years. The mice kept coming - and to ground level where I had traps set up, not to the bait stations and back into the walls to die. Rainbow came back out and suggested I insulate my foundation (December 2019). I paid $800 to have this done. I am terrified of mice and I live alone; I just wanted this to stop. The following early fall of 2020, the mice came back. As part of my 2 yr contract, they came back out at no charge and confirmed that the bait traps had seen activity. They told me they couldn't identify a point of entry but that they could be coming in under my walkout in my backyard and that I would need to pull up the deck boards so they could look and reschedule another appt. In March of 2021, I had my deck replaced. The contractors pulled up the old deck and Rainbow pest came to insulate the foundation, previously blocked by the deck. The expert said he didn't see any points of entry in this space. I had peace of mind that since my whole house was now cemented off, I would not get the mice anymore. They came out 2 or 3 more times after this because I was still getting mice. (I had 3 or 4 different "experts." The last visit I had, the manager came out and confirmed that a spot was missed around some electrical wiring in my backyard. They closed this up and confirmed this was where they were coming in and I'd be good. Yesterday I found a dead mouse in the traps I still have set up in my basement. When I called Rainbow they told me my contract was up and gave me the sales pitch on setting up stations and having my home insulated. I am beyond disappointed with the experience I've had. Save yourself $1000 and call a different company! I still have mice and now I need to find someone else who can find where they're coming in and actually stop it! read more

We couldn't be more satisfied. And we had mice. Lots of mice. But the guys from Rainbow figured out where they lived, how they accessed the house...and they made a plan. It took a few weeks of baits and sealing holes and inspecting again, but now we don't have mice. AND we learned a lot from the technician, about how mice think and react which helps us ensure they won't return. They were very thorough during the first inspection, then notified us well in advance before they returned, and gave us a detailed description of what they did each time they returned. All in all, the process took just under a month, which they had estimated it would. Hard to imagine better service during a stressful time in owning a home. read more

The first time I hired Rainbow, the guy who came out went around the exterior of my house checking for holes, found where the mice were entering, and patched it. So when, a year later, some unrelated structural damage to my house temporarily allowed mice to enter just as the temperatures were dropping, I called Rainbow again. This time the dude came hours late (ok, truck broke down, it happens); did not check the exterior at all, which I thought was part of what I was paying for (are there any new mouse-sized holes that linger since the damage was repaired? I don't know, and neither does he!), and spent the entire time staring at my breasts. I have no idea what I paid $160 for. A couple of new poison traps, one of which I had to place myself because the guy handed it to me rather than putting it into place, and a couple of glue traps. And I still have mice. read more

I don't live in MN but still own a house there that I rent out. Recently my tenets called to say that they had mice. They had already tried poison and laying traps but none of it was working. These guys are incredible. Extremely thorough as they worked for over 6 hours closing and sealing up my house to get rid of brown bats and not have to kill them. I haven't heard one "scratch" or noise since they completed their work. I have also used these guys to get rid of wood ants and box elder bugs. I am disappointed with the customer service with Rainbow Pest Experts. We have a flea problem that we have been diligently trying to control (i.e. vacuuming, Frontline, flea comb) and the vet has suggested finding an exterminator. The fleas on the cats seem to be controlled but the fleas are coming back, to which the vet suggested there is a cache of flea eggs somewhere that keeps re-attaching itself to our cats, despite our efforts to deflea the house and the cats. While price shopping, I came to Yelp to see what others had to say. People seemed to be so positive about Rainbow that I convinced my roommate to get in touch with them - even better, they're literally 5 minutes away from our house! We looked online and found that they talked about fleas on their website, among other pests. Naturally, if it's on their website, they must cover it, correct? If they didn't, there would be a disclaimer somewhere. We were also thrilled by the fact that they had a lot of options online - such as paying your bill and umbrella services, such as tree care, etc. If we had a good experience, we would be likely to use them again for other services (there are a few trees that need work). My roommate emailed for an estimate and this is literally the email we got back - I am copying/pasting here: "We do not do flea services. If they are controlled on the animal(s) they will typically die of in the house. Thank You Rainbow Pest Experts Office: 952-252-0585 Website: www.RainbowPestExperts.com" This is from MFerguson@rainbowpestexperts.com. There is no salutation or proper wrap-up, no professional wording such as "I'm sorry, but we do not provide flea services." There is certainly not a review prior to sending as it is "off," not "of." There is not even a name provided other than what information can be gleaned from the email address. I don't need a long email back, but surely this person could have taken more than 30 seconds to respond to the email, if that. If the customer service cannot spend a proper 5 minutes to reply, I will not bring my business there and I will not recommend them to my friends. read more

This company is SO expensive compared to other companies in the industry. I understand they do great work but is it worth it? They charge $200 PER HOUR to seal up the home for pest control. Other companies I've received on referrals charge $200 for the entire exterior seal up. Because customers are scared of a mice/pest problem we're willing to pay almost anything but want to make sure people know it's WAY over budget on most providers. read more

Have recently used Rainbow's pest control service. For some reason this winter has brought a number of sugar ants into the main floor of our home. We tried store bought products but they failed to control the problem. Dave from Rainbow came in and sprayed behind the baseboards of our home and placed traps in some key areas (behind the stove). The ants have not returned. Dave said that he would be back when weather improved to complete the service, spraying around the perimeter of our home. We use Rainbow for our Ash trees and for our lawn. We also have them spray our property to control the ticks and mosquitoes, as we live next to a preserve and water and the ticks and mosquitoes can be a problem. Highly recommend them. read more

We have used Rainbow Tree Services, as well as their pest control service, ever since I discovered some carpenter ants in a window frame. They took immediate control of the situation, and we haven't seen a carpenter ant since. We also use the pest control service in our home, as I noticed some spiders on our crown molding. It is very comforting to know that I will not come across a large spider or one of those horrible, long-legged centipedes. We have also used their tree service. The technician was friendly, prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. We needed a limb cut off from our ash tree, and he accomplished this with ease, and also cleared away all the debris. Rainbow Pest Experts are great!! I've used them twice now for stinging insects. A couple years ago, I had hornets building a nest INSIDE the cinderblock walls of my basement foundation. Lots of hornet traffic outside my home and lots of dead hornets in my basement. I was terrified. Dave came out and explained what the bugs were doing, found where they were entering the foundation, and took care of them. What a relief!! He really knows what he's doing, super knowledgeable and just a good guy. Again this summer, I discovered paper wasp nests up near the roof of my house. If you have the chance pass on Rainbow Pest and use someone else. I won't bog down this review with the story. We had mice and paid Rainbow over $500 to get rid of them. They failed miserably. Reasons not to hire this company: - Terrible Customer Service. To the point of being laughable. - Numerous broken appointments. - Failed to do the service we hired them for - Many broken promises to remedy the situation and follow up. Absolutely no follow through on anything they said. Basically these guys are a joke but in response to some of the other reviews yes they are extremely nice, knowledgeable and friendly. Although the person was extremely nice and friendly, he was not able to take care of our problem and needed to reschedule 5 days out. I was not able to wait 5 days... needless to say. So I called another company and they came out within an hour and fixed our problem that day. Unfortunately, with a situation like this 5 days of waiting isn't a good option and we feel that we should not have had to pay a $89 service fee to Rainbow for not being able to take action. read more

I highly recommend Rainbow Pest Experts. We inherited a mouse problem at our new home. Rainbow did a thorough inspection and sealed up the exterior with foam/cement/wire as needed to prevent the mice from getting in. They set bait boxes in the house to take care of the mice within. Our front porch was not accessible to check for holes, so they recommended we remove a few boards in order to inspect and seal up any problems. They did not charge extra to come back out when our contractor removed the boards. In fact, since we are on their year-round plan, they come back any time we need them outside of our regular service. They also put a preventative for Asian Lady Beetles and Box Elder bugs and well as the regularly seen insects. Rainbow Pest Experts treats the outside so effectively for bugs, that I don't have them spray the inside of the house because I don't need it. I really trust this company. We also have their lawn and tree services and have had wonderful experiences with those services as well. read more
