Plumbline business model is to send a tech out, diagnose (for a reasonable cost) then offer to fix the issue on the spot. Here's where they upsell you with options you do not need. Ridiculously expensive quotes. I had a tech quote a 45 min diagnosis and a 30 min repair. 7+ hours later, 2 trips to retrieve the correct part, I was billed over $850. No breakout costs on invoice. When I asked the tech how much the part was, he said 250. I asked how much the hourly rate was...he said $250/hr Told him I wanted to speak to management..he said they were out of town. Plumbline called to see if I was happy with tech. Explained and they said they'd have mgmt call me that day. Never happened. Use a reputable HVAC company, not them. You'll get upsold and charged $$$$ read more

Still using Plumbline to this day! We just moved into a new house and the inspector said everything was working fine. The A/C didn't work for days so we scheduled an appointment with Plumbline and they sent Tim out the very next day! Tim immediately found the problem, a bad dual capacitor, replaced it and now we have working A/C again! He didn't try selling us a new unit which was greatly appreciated! He just replaced the cheap part that came with the unit, which was original to the house, with a better unit and got it up and running! Tim was very knowledgeable and kind and he made sure we were well taken care of! My hot water heater quit working. When the tech arrived he showed me that in addition to the tank being broken the vent pipe had come loose from the tank and carbon monoxide was spewing out each time the water heater came on. This has happened on multiple occasions, if not ALL from what I can recall. When we have to completely put OUR schedules aside and be home all day with no time window provided to accommodate them only to be cancelled on the day of and then rescheduled weeks or months further out is completely unacceptable. I called Plumbline because my main line was clogged; he arrived early and begin to snake my line. After about 15 minuets he told me his snake was caught in my line and he needed to call his boss and have him come and inspect the line with a camera. The boss told me that the only way to get the snake out of my drain was to dig up my yard and it would cost me $9000.00!!! They left with the snake still in my drain and said I could call them to get started on the job. I called someone else who easily removed the snake from my drain ( I have video ). We had our Sewer line replaced from the house to the street in June 2024. Very good service and the crew were very friendly and respectful while they worked all day on the job. Cleaned up the yard when they left. We were told they would return in 6 months to compact the dirt and finish strengthening the drain pipes, but haven't received a call back from them. We have called 3 times and have been told that they would give our name and number to the guy that needs to come and finish the job but we have never heard back from him. We paid a lot of money to have this job done and don't want to pay for someone else to come finish it, Plumbline Services owes us money back or needs to come finish the job that they started. read more

Pathetic- I scheduled an inspection of my HVAC 2 weeks ago for today as part of their service they sold me . I was told I would receive a text with a 45 minute pending arrival. I took the day off work to ensure I would be hone. At 3 Pm I finally received a text message that they were experiencing a full schedule and to call them for a new appointment. The office called me at 4:45 to again reiterate after I waited all day to state they weren't honoring their appointment and I needed to reschedule - no apology, no priority treatment, no acknowledgement of my day or efforts with an offer to firmly commit to a time or date. Instead I was offered the "next" available window more than 2 weeks out and still a window. another potential day off wotk... Horrible customer service and attitude !!!! Bought the service contract for my HVAC. Pros The technicians are professional and pleasant. They communicate the arrival times very well. Cons Every service call includes a major fear based sales pitch. Maintenance is ridiculously expensive. A $13 capacitor costs $400, replacement time is 10 minutes. They charge $1000/pound for freon, not including labor! Freon is available in town for an average $90/pound. You can buy 32 pounds of freon for under $700. Their only goal is to get you to replace your HVAC system. read more

Peyton was a very pleasant and friendly young man. He explained in great detail everything he was going to do to prepare our HVAC for the colder weather to come by shutting down the air conditioning unit and checking everything in the furnace area. Also starting up the humidifier. Peyton also explained and demonstrated certain aspects of the wall box/thermostat. He also recommended some cleaning packages which I will give a great deal of thought to. I just needed someone to come out and loosen some screw and pieces that I didn't have the tools for. The plumber came in at started looking at things that "needed" fixing. I should have asked him to leave, so that is one me. He did replace some valves, which really I just needed them loosened so I could work on some other stuff. He said one was dripping. I didn't think so, but I didn't check, again on me. Then he went into the bathtub area and said I needed valves. I didn't think so, I just needed the screws loose that I could not. For some reason they were on really tight. He got in there and said my valves were back and he couldn't stop the leak, so he charged me for more valves. He got 2 cold water valves, so that didn't work and he left after I paid him way more that I really needed to. Again, I accept some responsibility for that other than if he was honest, I never would have had to. Well, the new valves weren't working right (2 cold water), plus just wasn't working right. All the time, rather than taking care of what I called for, he was always looking for "things that were wrong", that I should pay to fix. Always looking to upsell rather than taking care of what he was called for. I called and complained and they sent another guy out the next day and he tried to tell me that the new thing was for 2 valves working the same way, that the 2 cold water valves were the new thing. I didn't buy it this time and made him go and get a new hot water valve and put it in. It still wasn't working as good as the old ones. The next day I put in the old valves and they were perfectly. Following a furnace replacement a couple of weeks ago, we found that the relocated hot water location was blocking access to our sump pump. One contact with Plumbline and they had Paul and Mario out within a couple of days and completely revamped the furnace and hot water heater locations. They did a fantastic job relocating the necessary gas and water lines and relocated the hot water heater in a much more useful location. Both Paul and Mario were extremely knowledgeable, courteous and informative, they explained exactly what they plan on doing and updated us throughout the process. We can't say enough about the professionalism that they demonstrated and completely cleaning up afterwards. I would highly recommend Plumbline for any of your furnace/AC needs. read more

In the process of scheduling an appointment, the phone rep decided to tell me they do not service apartments/condos/townhomes/multi-story single-family homes. While I felt I wasn't given a clear explanation as to why they don't, this was something that should've been communicated from the get go. Instead of being told while making an appointment for someone looking to remedy their issue ASAP. This was extremely frustrating for me to hear. They did our line under the basement floor, and we were pleased that they worked hard to avoid tearing out the basement bathroom floor which would have had to be completely retiled. However, the repairs to our floor were poorly done. We were left with high spots of concrete that could only be repaired by grinding down or removing excess concrete by tearing out the repair. Had it been done properly; we could have easily floated some leveler over their repair. Then they did our line from the house to the street, leaving a pile of dirt that they said would s settle down over the next six months. They said they would come back and remove the excess dirt after that period. We called four times to have the dirt removed after the six-month period, and were totally ignored on the first three calls, the third call we were told they were short on staff. When I threatened to call Tom Martino on the fourth call, we got some action, and a comment (lie?) that they now recommended you wait a year do the dirt to settle. We live on a very nice block in good part of town and don't want our yard looking like a construction zone for a year. Anyway, they did show up and removed the excess dirt, but would not take an extra inch off so we could have it sodded. "they don't do landscaping" was the answer. Now we have to pay to have more dirt removed. So, if you want to use them, be prepared to pay someone else to undo what they have done. And threatening to call Martino works! read more

Can't say enough nice things about the customer service person(s) over the phone and Josh the service tech. Everyone was extremely friendly, and helpful. Accommodated me and my schedule - even at the last minute when they could fit me in earlier in the day. I said give me 30 minutes, and they did! June 2024: The plumber said he couldn't tell me what year my water heater was, or my main water valve. He wouldn't even get down on the floor to see where the leak was. I paid over $800 in repairs. Two days later, water leak, again. I called and had Benjamin Franklin come out. Their plumber inspected and told me how old my water heater was and my water valve (because this is what ALL plumbers know how to do). He also inspected the furnace and told me my leak was from the AC (that Plumbline installed). He also told me what they needed to do to fix it. Plumbline came out 10 days later to fix the AC (under warranty) and I still haven't gotten photos and a detailed description of what Plumbline supposedly fixed during this warranty visit to fix my AC. It's not without effort, I've called 6+ times and keep getting the run-around. Do yourself a favor - call someone else. Benjamin Franklin did a great job! Plumbline only wants to upsell. They certainly don't care about identifying the real problem, and clearly don't want to get their hands or uniform dirty. 22 July update: I did leave Plumbline a message last week for someone to call me but they didn't, instead they sent an email with "warranty work completed". Plumbline can respond to a Yelp review but won't actually call when request. read more

Well I hate to do this but I highly highly DO NOT recommend this business for their service. It started out great by them installing our air conditioner with a great guy and we were satisfied. But then came the VIP service contract. Not once in 2 years have they honored their first or second appointment for coming out to do a maintenance check. This is a service we pre-paid for. They cancel EVERY time. When we make appointments we just laugh and make bets as to how close to the appointment time they will cancel cuz they will. Today it was 3 min before they were supposed to show up. If they aren't going to honor this service then maybe they shouldn't offer it. We actually tried to schedule the air conditioner check last April and they "could not fit us in until August". Mind you one of the hottest months of the year. And their excuse for not coming out now is well it's so hot and we have customers with broken air conditioners. Oh jeez surprise surprise I could have told them that maintenance appointments in August might be difficult due to weather. They need to set aside a guy who just does maintenance appointments. Also, they wanted to schedule what was 2 appointments into one. We had an appt for the furnace coming up in Oct. We don't even have the furnace on right now but ok. Let's do both on August. Their VIP is a JOKE. We feel as if we are being treated worse than a new customer or certainly other VIP's who need service because they can make some money on them. I get it people want their air conditioners working and they may be VIP's too but Plumbline needs to do a better job of assigning employees to honor the maintenance checks they offer. read more

In my fair evaluation, the service performed was appropriate and expected. However, the service relative to the cost was not a good deal, because the price was unreasonable for fixing the loose wire in the main circuit. That is, the main circuit breaker had one of the main wires loose, causing my house to lose 1/2 the power (only certain areas lost power). With the labor of tightening and replacing the main circuit breaker, the total was almost $700. The service outcome was expected, but it was not a good deal for the high cost. I assess the service/goods relative to the price, because of the cost-benefit analysis. Another thing is that Plumbline only asked me to provide a review if I thought the service was 5-star, which is a clear indication of a biased invitation. The technician Aaron Bookman was courteous and professional. My only dissatisfaction is the high price Plumbline charged. The pictures attached below are the main circuit with one of the main wires loose. The circuit breaker has discoloration due to arcing but still is functional not broken as Aaron thought (I kept it for my record). I took Aaron's recommendation regardless and replaced it just to be on the safe side. The price of nearly $700 includes VIP and the reason for buying it is because the price is almost identical without the VIP (i.e., +$2.00 without the VIP). It is a service that I am unlikely to use, but the two-dollar discount is still better than nothing. read more

Worst service experience I've ever had. Technician came late in his pristine uniform and complained about the utility room being dusty and a cobweb in the ceiling. Then he proceeded with a high pressure sales pitch for their service plan. Gave the furnace a cursory look. I could tell by his reaction to it's function that he knew there was a problem but he wouldn't do anything if I didn't buy the service plan. He left without doing the repair. Good riddance. My review pertains to both the safety practices and billing practices of Plumbline's Services. The competencies of their techs are too low to entrust something as serious as flammable gas and they overcharge you for work you don't need. I had a gas leak in my furnace that was inspected by Xcel with specific notes on how to fix the leak. We scheduled an appointment with Plumbline to fix and the the tech sent to us was unable to understand the notes provided by Xcel. He stated that that we would be required a $400 inspection before he could even quote us a fix. When I said no, he refused to do any inspection (which we ordered) and charged us $50 just for showing up and explaining why he couldn't do anything. As a side note, I did a quick google search based on the notes provided by Xcel and the solution is a very standard fix. The cost of replacement parts would have been about $15. I am happy I only lost out on $50 because someone who couldn't figure out what was wrong would definitely have installed it incorrectly and put my family in danger. read more
