Jay is a consummate professional. He spent twenty minutes with me on my initial phone call fully explaining everything involved in replacing my two hot water heaters. On the day of installation, he spent another twenty minutes or so showing me every step before starting. He answered all of my questions in detail and never once seemed put out. I received three other quotes from large plumbing contractors prior to going with Jay. In every case I spoke to a customer service agent who gave me line pricing and read off a prompt. They all had the same disclaimer that pricing may change at the time of installation. That's typical, but the point is none of them gave me the attention and were able to answer my initial questions without sending a technician to my house. Who wants to hassle with multiple appointments. Anyway, Jay was competitive with the other quotes (toward to higher end), but his thoroughness was well worth a few hundred dollars when you are doing such an involved job. Furthermore, Jay doesn't cut any corners! He uses all new parts of the highest quality (he will detail all of it with you) and does all of the work himself. ALL OF THE WORK BY HIMSELF! Well, Jay, owner of Plumbing by Jay sure did this morning. He intently listened to my plumbing problem and then was off to work on diagnosing the issue. My 20+ year-old majestic trees in the front yard have evil, invasive roots that lurk below the surface....crushing sewer pipes to bits! The result? Major plumbing FAIL. In the end, NOTHING can get past its gnarly wrath to the city's main line to carry it away to wherever it goes. Instead of going into the abyss, the sewage contents projectile vomit onto the first level of my house floor :( Lovely, no? I hired Plumbing by Jay for the 3rd time to handle my plumbing needs. Our water heater went out, we called another plumbing company and they insisted we would need to replace both of our water heaters, costing over $3000. We set the appointment for them to come out and replace them later today. In the meantime, a friend/neighbor recommended we call Jay. Additional review for Plumbing by Jay...after a fairly minor visit, we knew our hot water heaters were probably on the edge of utter failure...our 3 were installed in 2007, so on the extreme side of shelf life for H2O heaters. Typical 8-10 if lucky. Jay did a quick visit after other visit to give us a quote and was super thorough regarding attic H20 heaters to include an intelligence leak detection so if there's ever any kind of leak or water w/in the pan, an auto shutoff occurs on valve in addition to an alarm/beeping to let you know. Yes an additional small cost but knowing anyone who's not had, the damage is not good. Jay was awesome on install day, was prepared to lay down drop matts everywhere and did his magic. 3 new H20 heaters and able to indicate 1 was about to go, so very lucky to get him in when we did. Great pricing, great customer service. Extremely happy and highly recommend Jay for all plumbing needs. Not gonna post pics cuz who wants to see H20 heaters in attic?? But if needed I would/could...don't delay if yours is 7+ years old. Better safe than sorry. read more

Absolutely Great Service by Plumbing by Jay So I get home one afternoon and I notice a huge puddle of water in my front yard by the water meter. I call the city of Frisco and they tell me they can send someone out to check it out, but that if the leak isn't on the city side of the meter, that they won't fix it and they'll have to shut off my water until I do fix it. Well, I look up plumbers in Frisco and I find Plumbing by Jay. He got a good review, so I called him. He came to my house that afternoon, helped me dig up the yard to find the leak, determined it was on "my side" of the meter and he had the whole thing fixed, and the dirt put back over the hole before the city even made it to my house. Then, on the day I'm moving out of my house in Frisco, we're unhooking the water line to my refridgerator, and the valve is broken and won't shut off. Well, I'm paying the movers by the hour, and we can't get the refridgerator unhooked until we can turn the water off at the main. I call Jay's #...he's in the area and swings by my house, turns the water off for me, and then caps the valve so we can turn the water back on for now, to fix the valve later. What a guy. I hired Jay to repair a loose kitchen faucet. I had two other plumbers come and look at the issue and Jay was the only one to identify the underlying issue on why the faucet kept coming loose. He installed a brand new faucet at a price much less then Berkeys and also adjusted the sink placement, which was the cause of the issue.
