Extremely prompt! We are off to a really good start. The idea of a hot shower is exciting! Being able to wash dishes is another thing I'm looking forward to getting done. I know dishes. Didn't realize how important running HOT water was till I had to start camping inside my own house. I went 5 days without hot water and was having to boil water on the stove top. What a pain in the butt!I'm super stoked we got Michah's to replace the unit. He works a tag team operation, with his wife setting up the appointments. He's cheaper then the other 4 businesses we contacted for bids. He had the old unit drained, removed, and the new unit in, in 2 hours. That's skill. Michahs extremely transparent. On 8/9/2020 a pipe broke under a bathroom sink, flooding the room. We had moved to the area shortly before & hired Micah's based on a few local recommendations. Micah & his wife, Jennifer, came 8/10 & "repaired" the break. They were nice & we were relieved to have it fixed. On 8/27/20, that same plumbing "fix" failed again, drenching the cabinet underneath. I texted & left an urgent voicemail message asking them to come & fix it again. Jennifer said they were on an emergency call & couldn't come. I had outpatient surgery scheduled the next morning at 5:30am & their "repair" failed 2 weeks after their "fix". So I had surgery scheduled, standing water again in the bathroom, but she suggested I call another plumber to fix what they "repaired" 2 weeks before! Nice, caring, customer service- NOT! We mopped up the mess & my husband figured out a way to bypass the break. NO THANKS to Micah's! This is NOT a company I would recommend to anyone! I hesitated about posting a negative review for a local small business, but it is honest. Recent info- We had a clog in that same sink & contacted another local company, Auger Pros! After being recommended on my community's Facebook page, I called Micah's to request a visit to look at a faucet that wouldn't turn off (well, didn't like to turn off, but begrudgingly did). I received a call back from Jennifer, Micah's wife, who asked me to take a photo of the faucet so that the technician would know what part(s) to have on the truck when they visited. The next morning, I got a call back from Jill saying that she had received the picture, and that Micah believed that the repair could be done by myself! He discussed in detail what needed to be done (no tools, just manipulating the faucet handle) and assured me that there was no danger of the actual valve coming loose or the like ("you won't flood your house, don't worry"). He said that he felt that a service call for something like this was an unnecessary expense for such a simple repair. I went to the bathroom, followed his repair steps, and within 5 minutes, the faucet was working perfectly! Based on the repair tip that this company gave me FOR FREE over the phone, I was able to fix my issue. If ever there was a textbook definition for "honesty", this has to be it. Hey Jennifer, If any of what you say is true that sucks but it's not like they told us that on any of the number of times we tried to get help, but regardless it doesn't give them the right to treat customers poorly and just hope we understand something we aren't aware of. SMH! . We were just treated rudely with no explanation. Surely you can understand how that would be disappointing. But yeah blaming the unknowing customer is a great response and makes me stand by my original review that this business is one to avoid. Micah did some work for me last night. The name of his business says it all. Some people, you don't know if you're getting a good deal. Micah is honest and a real professional. He fixed a leaking kitchen faucet, installed two shower heads, installed two toilet fixtures, tightened up a loose shower fixture, and taught me how to check the pump on my water heater. He didn't nickel and dime me. I paid a fair price and I'm very happy that I called him. The business is just Micah and his wife. "Honest" in the name made me skeptical. My wife called them to get an appointment but I was the one to stay home for it. With my experience with people, I think the word "INTEGRITY" should be on the side of his truck. Micah was quick, efficient and thorough. He was also just the nicest guy. I needed a plumber to repair the leaking outdoor faucet of my home. I had a couple of bad experiences with a well known company you see around North Dallas but will not post their name here. I have to admit, the reviews for Micah's Honest Plumbing on Yelp were all favorable, which was pretty good. But my personal experience with companies that use words such as "reliable", "Honest", "Christian", or any other biblical references; turn out to be the opposite of what you would expect. So I was somewhat hesitant! I call and left a voice message, and received a return call within 10 minutes from Jennifer Cook. She was very polite, friendly, and was in not rush to get me off the phone. She was able to schedule my repair for the next day, which was 3 days sooner then any of the other plumbers I contacted. The guys arrived as scheduled and explained what they had planned to do. "This can be very simple, or somewhat complicated; depending on the pipes in your home". I was very lucky, because the repair was a basic replacement. My experience with Micah's was very simple, basic, good Ole school service. The kind of outstanding customer service you just don't see anymore !!! So check this out.........After payment was made, I mentioned a problem I was having in my bathroom. He understood that I had done a portion of the repair before, and offer tips on how to complete the repair myself. He did not try to sell me on more services..........and here's what was amazing. He went to his truck to show me what I needed from Home Depot or Lowes, and he said "Here...you can have this one, take it !!" I offered to pay for the new piece but he said...."No problem". Called these guys and scheduled an appointment based on their good reviews and they didn't bother to show up during the window they gave us or call us back. Very unprofessional. Update: Almost an hour after the window and less than ten minutes after I posted this review, I received a phone call from the business owner's wife letting me know that they were running late. When I told her that we scheduled someone else to come out she started getting very angry and told me that she is not perfect and she's not Jesus. I have never experienced anything this unprofessional and would not recommend this business to anyone. Perhaps Micah is great, but he should get someone else to handle his office and customer communication. read more

Micah came by and cleared up a blockage in our guest bathroom sinks today. He had to go through our attic to access the AC vent that was causing the backup so it wasn't particularly simple but he got it done without issue. He did a great job, worked efficiently and charged a very fair price. Another large company gave me a quote for almost 6 times as much for the same work (plus an extra trip charge) but luckily Micah's wife, Jennifer, got in touch with me before I committed to that job. During the February 2021 freeze in Texas, it was almost impossible to get a plumber to repair a broken pipe and get my water back on. It took me 8 days without water and calls to at least 12 plumbers before I found Micah's. Even though they were working insanely long hours and were fully booked for days in advance, they came out late at night and got my water back on. They identified the cause of the leak as the result of some years earlier plumbing work that had been done incorrectly by the builder, so they did a temporary fix and promised to come back and reconfigure the pipeline and do the job right next week when things aren't so out-of-control in Texas. I am so grateful to have running water again, and be able to take a shower and flush toilets and wash dishes and clothes, etc.! I will be calling on Micah's for future plumbing work and highly recommend them. read more

Overall our experience was less than stellar. It began with Micah inspecting a home we were preparing to buy. He saw things that were in the initial inspection personally (I did not know this at the time because he was referred to us by our realtor, I didn't realize it was him who came to look at the plumbing bits) and later we called to have the issues serviced once we bought the home. When attempting to get this scheduled, there seemed to be no communication between he and Jenny (his wife). I spoke with her over the phone about the Items we needed repaired and they were in the inspection report. (After this, nearly every call by either myself or my wife was met with an answering machine) I emailed the report to her to which she said there were a few concerning issues that Micah would have to see personally. (This was was over the weekend) I asked if they were available that Monday and received a bit of unwarranted attitude. She said, "Monday's are the busiest days for us. If you could possibly convince our two customers without hot water since Friday to reschedule.Lol.... It would be later next week for sure." I ignored the passive aggressive tone and said I understand and asked when the soonest they would be available was, but later (once notified by my realtor) said that he already came and saw it personally. to which her reply was, "Awesome Then use that one." That was all she wrote. Again sensing some hostility I recapped, "OK, so that brings us back to the original topic. When can he come to perform the repairs?" We agreed on Friday at 10-12. My wife was the only one of the two of us available to unlock the new home and we currently live aprx 25 min away. And she is a stay at home mom with a 1 1/2 year old. She called to let Jenny know that she would be there about 10 min after 10am due to baby delay but left a message due to no answer. She waited for 30 min and called/emailed with no response. She left to go feed the baby and wait for a call letting her know he was on his way. At noon she called and Micah answered. He notified her that Jenny was ill and unable to attend the phone (which is acceptable). He also said he was attending a client who had an emergency (also very acceptable). My wife notified him that we live 25 min away and please call before getting there so she can unlock the door. At 3pm, Micah called to let her know that he had arrived at the house. She said she would be there in about 25 min, and he immediately disapproved of that answer and insisted we had to reschedule with Jenny. When my wife reminded him that she was sick and it will just go to voicemail, he responded with, "well I normally don't talk to the clients. She handles the clients and I do the work." She said she would call, and she also let him know she was very upset with how this day went. He said something along the lines of we should have moved in first before having repairs, which seems odd to us (he may have said this because he didn't want to wait 25 min for her). She reminded him that she asked him to call before he got there so she could drive over. He said, "I talk to 20 people a day and cant remember every conversation." He then suggested we take our business elsewhere. In a futile attempt, she called Jenny again to which it went to voicemail. So much for rescheduling. I will admit there are a few things that we do not fault them for. One being they could not have foreseen the emergency call or Jenny being sick. However the constant attitude from both Micah and Jenny along with the lack of communication between them was very off putting for a new customer. Also when confronted about the situation and unprofessionalism on their part, it seemed as if she was being blamed for living so far away and he was unapologetic. We don't want to play the, "customer is always right" card but we feel as if we were unjustly treated for events that we were not responsible for. read more

Micah and his wife, Jenny are wonderful people who do amazing work (yes plumbing can be amazing!) The fact that Micah knows exactly what he is doing and does not cut corners is icing on the cake. I spoke with Jenny about a leaking faucet--after a description of the problem and a few quick pictures via text, she had figured out the problem and was ordering the part. Micah and his crew showed up on time, were polite and clean cut. He had to undo someone else's crappy attempt at fixing our faucet and then fix the leak. I needed a second opinion after trying another plumbing company who told me that I needed my living room jack hammered and my main sewer line repaired. They said roots had broken the pipes, that was Waterman Plumbing. Please do not use them. Use Micah's Honest Plumbing, they sent their camera man out and he went through a much more detailed process I found out there was absolutely nothing wrong with my pipes other than a normal clogged sink! There are zero roots, zero breaks in any part of my line. Not only that, I have NO pipes under my living room floor! So they would jackhammer my floor for nothing at Waterman!!! They were prompt in returning phone calls and agreed to call before coming out so I could quickly come home from work vs waiting for a 4 hour window. I was unsure of the extent of the repairs needed but was provided a quick ballpark estimate after exchanging few text and picture messages (I had already opened up the wall). No other plumbing companies that were called before Micah's could come close to this level of service. I had a follow up issue a few weeks later that was completely unrelated to the first broken pipe. When Micah wasn't able to respond as quickly as initially thought due to a vehicle breakdown they came to my house after 8pm, long after others may have called it quits. I recently had exemplary service from Micah's Honest Plumbing. I was thoroughly impressed with the customer service and -- most of all -- with the quality of the work. We had a slab leak and had already spoken with another plumber about options, but I wasn't confident I was being dealt with honestly. I left a msg for Micah late on a Friday afternoon, and his wife immediately called us back -- from the car -- while their family was traveling on vacation! She asked questions and relayed them to Micah while he was driving, requested photos and information to help them understand the extent of our issues here, and was able to reassure us that we'd be handled as soon as they returned. They then rented a camera to ensure that they were not bidding on this job without understanding the full scope of the issue, which is more than I can say for the other company we initially dealt with. They took care to share the camera views with us, drew diagrams to help us understand what work they would be performing, and they discussed the variables we were facing in great detail. They performed the work immediately, keeping us informed at every stage. Their excavators arrived the next day and were speedy and polite and so tidy! When they covered up the hole after the job was done they even spread fresh mulch so you couldn't even tell they had been there. I felt like Micah did exactly what was required at a fair and reasonable price, without "padding" his bill or his time with a bunch of fear-mongering extras the way the big franchise-owned plumbers often do. Truly I just felt like this small, family-owned business took excellent care of our plumbing, our property, and our budget. The owner/operator, Micah, is very customer oriented and clearly puts a priority on customer service at a fair price as exemplified by my recent experience. I had a shower issue where the hot water would no longer come on and I knew what part I needed, but knew I would need a plumber, I also had a toilet that was constantly running. I decided to try a local business since I saw all the great reviews. I was not disappointed. Micah was a little late for my appointment, but he was at a job that took a little longer than expected and it was actually no big deal to me, I was just worried I may have scheduled a different day by mistake. We had shifty plumbing work done by J&K plumbing for a kitchen sink leak, after hearing from J&K that we broke the sink ourselves our warranty would not cover the repair. We finally called Micah's honest plumbing, Micah was in and out in no time and fixed the issue not only that he only charged us the amount we would have paid through our warranty. Totally agree with the negative comments here regarding customer service. Expected great service from the positive reviews and company info appears to be exaggerated as well. First, you have to leave a message since they don't answer after many, many rings. But they did call back (hence 1 star) but I sensed a kinda disapproving tone. We just moved into a new house and had some plumbing issues so we figured a plumber would be a good way of taking care of a minor leak and at the same time get an overall assessment of the plumbing so we don't have any issues in the future. Phone call only made me feel like I'm wasting their time and mine because Micah is so busy and not worthy of my business because I was looking for affordability on a non-emergency situation. I was basically told that my inspectors and installers (which I had none, just my husband and I) should of been of better use. I wouldn't be seen for more than a week away if I still wanted service and then it would be $169/hour for Micah's time! Tell me who would say "Okay sure. I love that deal!?" They should have never called back or just tell me they can't come anytime soon. If I'm calling for your business it's because I suspect a plumber is needed, not to be convinced of the opposite. read more

I had a faucet in the kitchen that wasn't getting any water pressure. Micah came out and took it apart and found it was the cartridge. He said would be cheaper to order the part rather than put the new faucet on( that I had bought just in case) they are ordering part for me and will return to install. We have worked with Micah and his wife for several years on various projects around our house. Recently, a relatively new water heater that he installed failed and began to leak from the top! We called after hours and Jenny dispatched Micah to come out immediately. Long story short, the heater's malfunction was a manufacturer's defect (still under warranty) but regardless, Micah came out and removed the unit, took it to the supply shop and had our new one installed next day. Oh, and they didn't even charge a service call or labor fee. We will always call Micah when in need and they keep getting our business because they stand by their work and get the job done right.
