I didn't want to mess with it and have the valve break off, so we called Craftsman. 7 hours later, Dan came to fix it. The solution was simply turning the valve harder, which I told Dan I didn't want to attempt at the risk of breaking off the valve. Annoyed he told me he had to drive all the way from Elsinore and charged me $160. I get that it may be annoying to drive a distance to fix something simple, but you're getting compensated for it, and if the customer knew what they were doing they wouldn't be calling you. Being late, and making it seem like the customer inconvenienced you isn't ok.

It immediately raised red flags. Trusting our instincts, we decided to get a second opinion and called On Time Home Services--and we're so glad we did. Their technician came out, thoroughly inspected our system, and told us the truth: nothing was wrong with our AC. No unnecessary repairs, no scare tactics--just honest, professional service. What seemed like a "discounted service" from Airtime turned out to be a classic upsell tactic--drawing customers in with a low-cost offer, only to pressure them into expensive, unnecessary repairs. Stay away from Airtime Heating and Air. They try to rip you off. The technician was Brandon Crowe, who was assisted by a guy named Dylan.

It was overdue to fail any time, so to avoid the potential headache and mess in the garage if it does fail, I called on Reliance Plumbing once again to help me out. Scott, and his assistant Brad, are always a pleasure to see and talk to. (I don't often say this about people working in or around my house.) By this time, they are like old friends to me already. Scott gave me a very reasonable cost to replace the water heater and they did a fabulous job, as expected. He replaced everything (including fittings and hoses) and even added extra things (at no additional cost) ---- a pan, a pipe extension to prevent water from sipping in the wall, strap for my expansion tank, etc. He is methodical, neat, with great attention to detail, and takes pride in his work.
