I am not a huge fan of vegan food but I am trying to eat more vegan in 2024. I wish I knew about PLNT Burger sooner. I tried their Spicy Grilled Chik'n Cutlet Sandwich and it was delicious. I don't feel like it was spicy but I also have a higher tolerance for spicy foods. I've been thinking about it since I tried it. You really cannot tell it's not chicken, and I like that. The flavor on it is also really good with the garden herb mayo. The cutlet is MushroomRoot. I also tried their pumpkin spice shake and I love that it is made with oat milk. If you like pumpkin, I think you'll really enjoy it. I like that they're located in a lot of Whole Foods locations in the DMV but wish there were more stand alone locations because I don't live near a Whole Foods. I will definitely come back though.

Well, I finally tried PLNT Burger. Won't do that again. Honestly, it's not that it was bad...it just wasn't great. And there are so many good places to go in DTSS, why go to one that isn't? This is a kiosk inside Whole Foods, and on my way to Cava, I detoured and ended up here. The cashier was helpful and my order came out quickly, which was nice. The mandarin cardamom drink was like a tasty, hopefully semi-healthy Tang (anybody remember Tang?!?!). So the burger was kind of...meh. It lacked spice, flavor, and flair. It was just a sort of mushy patty of unidentifiable plant-based material. The bun was tasty, and the sauce was quite yummy, and the lettuce and tomato were very fresh (I mean, it is situated inside a grocery store - one would hope!) The sweet potato fries were the clear winner here. Crispy, crunchy, cooked perfectly. Weird green sauce I still can't identify! Also, pretty freakin expensive. So even though the fries were great, I'll probably stick to my regular options in DTSS from now on.

This is my first time trying PLNT burger and it is surprisingly very good. The place is tucked INSIDE Wholefoods. So note that. I got a meal with The cheese burger. That includes a small fries and a small drink. I chose Strawberry rhubarb. The burger is tasty, crispy and felt light. It came with 2 sauces: the green sauces is creamier and the red sauce is sweeter. I liked the red. The drink didn't have a lot of sugar (good thing) and tasted more naturally sweet. A huge plus on that. I also liked they didn't add ice. The staff was quick, service was courteous. Cost: 11.75 for my meal. Not too bad. However, The place is noisy, not much room to sit and eat. So I ll have to reduce a star for that. I'll definitely recommend it to vegetarians. And doesn't hurt for an occasional deviance for a regular.

My fiancé and I first tried them on August 8, 2019 for a pre-release at my synagogue Ohev Sholom, whose Rabbi Herzfeld certified this now popular and growing vegan burger joint as Kosher. We were very impressed and have had it there and from their original Silver Spring location several times. We were glad that a neighborhood with a ton of restaurants now has its fully vegetarian, vegan, and kosher option. With their own in-app coupons and Groupon deals, you can always save money. They are always slowly expanding the menu and the latest additions are the Baja Burger and the Egg Sammy. The meat is Beyond and dairy and egg products all taste real or even better than that. Their Chili Bowl is also great and it seems that the recipe comes from or is at least inspired by Virginia Ali, the vegetarian co-founder of Ben's Chili Bowl who is a friend of our belated best man. Our favorite side dish are the Bloomies. In just under two years they have expanded to 6 location across the DMV and another 2 in the Philly area. Last time we went the staff says they are going to soon cover the East Coast seaboard from Boston to Miami. If you are a herbivore or omnivore you will love this. And if a carnivore, I dare you to try it as well.

I'm going to be one of those people that says, "I can't believe I've never been here before until now!" I live 1.5 miles away in Silver Spring and as a pescatarian, I don't know why I've waited so long to check this place out. Maybe it's the horrifically, always crowded parking lot out back? Well, with COVID still rearing its ugly head, parking seems to be a bit easier now. I had no wait to order, and because I checked out Yelp reviews ahead of time, I knew what I wanted to order. I started with the much praised Mushroom BBQ Bacon Burger. It was really good, the hype was real. Mushroom "bacon"? yes, please. Now, I'm not a red meat eater so I can't make claims as to how it taste compared to cow meat. It was really tasty. The crispy herb fries were just that, even upon my return home. A nice change from thin, regular fries. I also ordered the Spicy Chik N' Funguy because, well... more mushrooms. A quote from the source: Crispy fried oyster mushroom stems, house made hot sauce, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, garden herb mayo! Sound delicious?! Almost. A bit too spicy for me. Joy B. would not approve. I will stick with the burger next time. I also purchased a Whisked! chocolate chip cookie for my teatime later. It's 100% vegan and Kosher certified. It was just okay. For the $2.50 price tag I'd rather get a chocolate chip cookie from Chik-fil-A, or an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie from Potbelly's. Both are delicious! However, theirs is a good option for vegans.

The Strawberry Rhubarb with Apple Cider Vinegar is refreshing and not too sweet!

Great vegan concept and well executed! PLNT is tucked inside of Whole Foods and can be hard a bit hard to find near the bakery section. Worth the maze! The crispy Fun-guy Chik'n Sandwich is delicious! Glad I spotted an appetizing photo of the Chik'n sandwich and went for it! The sandwich was bursting with flavor from the crispy oyster mushrooms resembling chicken tenders and fixings of pickles, herbed mayo, and green leaf lettuce. The simple sandwich was quite tasty! The crispy herbed potato wedge fries were tasty and nice complement to the sandwich with a smoky aioli sauce. The Strawberry Rhubarb juice with apple cider vinegar is refreshing and not too sweet! Note there's a Plenty meal combo deal with some of the Plant burgers, not with the Fun-guy Chik'n Sandwich - $12.50 for a sandwich, large drink, and fries. After I ordered, I saw it! Excited to come back for another round of the crispy Fun-guy Chik'n Sandwich, herbed fries, and refreshing juice!

I wanted a veggie burger so bad and quick search led me to PLNT Burger. I'm glad I read that it was inside of Whole Foods if not we would have been circling around for a while. The reviews were really good and so many folks recommended the new patty melt so I went with that, fries and a cookies & cream milkshake. The staff were incredibly nice which is why I'm giving 3 stars. The food was NOT good. My patty fell apart which made it a mushy mess and was so difficult to eat. I'm so shocked that so many people were raving about it in their reviews but again, I've visited places that have perfected veggie burgers. Also, to note, the meat is Beyond meat and I strongly prefer impossible burgers.

    Casey Lyn B.

Still trying out Vegan food to broaden my horizons in the food world. I have tried weird-tasting Vegan food, and this place is not one of 'em. Fyi, this place is located in the Whole Foods in Silver Spring. We went during COVID times, had a long line, but we didn't wait that long. We ordered the PLNT Burger and PLNT Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The burger was awesome. It seemed like a "regular/non-Vegan" burger! I would suggest to any of the Vegans out there, or for the people that have not tried Vegan before. Would I come here again? Yes, when the COVID has simmered down.

That's an added bonus that elevates the whole experience. And with their frequent diner program, you can rack up points on your visits and redeem them later for dollars off your bill, which makes an already good meal feel even better. My Go-To's: Spinach & Artichoke Dip One of the best around. It's always cooked just right, never underdone, never burnt. Great flavor and perfectly creamy. And yes, I'm the one mixing it up with salsa and sour cream for an extra flavor kick. Fiesta Eggrolls A flavorful favorite. Rotisserie Chicken Salad Think Tex-Mex salad loaded with all the good stuff. I love, mixing the BBQ sauce with the chipotle blue cheese dressing, it's the perfect sweet-smoky combo. It used to come with cornbread croutons (which were such a nice sweet touch), so now I just order a slice of their delicious cornbread on the side. Chicken Pot Pie Comfort food done right. Rattlesnake Pasta It almost gives Rasta Pasta vibes, but without the heat. Creamy, flavorful, and filling. Barbecue Ribs Tender, saucy, and satisfying. Key Lime Pie One of the best. And the fact that they sell it whole? Dangerous! Pineapple Upside Down Cake My new favorite. Nice and moist and comes à la mode. Don't just take my word for it. Check out "Copper Canyon Grill" and experience it for yourself! Mmmm... Bon Appetit! Cheers! Enjoy!

At first I was disappointed when I saw they took off my favorite appetizer, so I ordered the Cripsy Calamari Appetizer instead. So as I am waiting my waitress had stopped by twice to ask me if I was ready to put in my entree and every-time I had to tell her no as I haven't even gotten my appetizer yet. This rubbed me the wrong, I felt like I was being rushed and that didn't make sense as this was on a Thursday at 1 pm and the restaurant was practically empty. Now the patio seating was lovely and I truly enjoyed basking in the sun while sipping on my Sauvignon Blanc, I have so many memories from DTS and it was nice to be in the area again. Anyways my Appetizer came and it was sooo good. I loved the fried jalapeños in the mix it really gave a nice kick to my Calamari. I decided to order the Shrimp Tempura Roll which is a new addition to the menu but whew this is where it went left. It was NOT good, drenched in sauce and fish eggs ... and the presentation of the roll looked sloppy and rushed especially considering one roll didn't even have Shrimp in it. There was barely any cucumber inside ... on top of all that they still gave me side dippings too... I ate 1 roll and it was nasty and too much. When I told my waitress I didn't like it and explained why she just said ok and walked away. It was very clear to me she did not care and so it's very clear to me that I won't be going there ever again.

It started out good, then it was mediocre, then it was good again. And so on and so forth. Frustrated by the lack of consistency, we stopped going for a while. But now - "it's good again!" On my latest visit, I stuck to the basics: spaghetti bolognaise, a house salad, and a glass of Montepulciano de Abruzzo. Spaghetti bolognaise isn't on the menu per se - but there is bolognaise over gnocchi, and the chef is willing to go with a different pasta on request. I was delighted with the sauce - among the best I have had around town - and the pasta was of good quality and cooked to perfection. The dish was also plated very nicely, in a neat little swirl. Not showy but with care. I appreciated that. The salad was fresh and used crisp apples, not mealy ones. I would have liked a better quality Montepulciano, or perhaps glass a whose shape would improve its robustness, but it was fine. I'm a little worried that what once was a steady clientele has dropped off. The restaurant was only half full on a Friday evening. But I, at least, will be returning soon!

It was awesome to see the diversity of the diaspora from the African continent (East and West Africa) the Caribbean/Latin America, and America all in one safe space enjoying themselves without the performative and obnoxiousness from others I would give them that. The Billy Holliday mural and the interior design has a nice sleek, New American vibe. My problem is the service, the cost, and the food although solid, I cooked a brunch the following day myself not to brag (scrambled eggs and cheese, friend potatoes with diced green peppers and onions) that was masterful in comparison to the gingerbread style big ole French toast and fancy "scrambled eggs and cheese" this spot has. The service charge was ridiculous as my mom's bill was 70 plus bucks for just the seafood shrimp and grits which was nice, a very sweet pre-diabetic lemonade, and bread pudding that was like bougie Georgetown prices with the dominant culture. I paid 40 dollars (Hairstylist from Baby Boy!) for French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese and lemonade. The food is nice and all but nothing to die for. We came for the vibe, culture, and atmosphere also, but we do prefer the chains of Dennys and I-hop if I am not doing the cooking which is most of the time. The server would dirty mack and take a while flirting with women at the bar and playing around with staff, and I had to give a clinical gaze with my glasses and hand signal for him to return. We did ask up front about service charge and gratuity included from the beginning but they have a very Southern slow pace here that I agree with others and I am a very patient man and notice that. It can take a while to get your checks, get change, just other tasks that you would think would be handled more efficiently. The place attracts the social media crowd, with professional pictures, the glitz, the glamor the Hollywood red carpet of the DMV, but the structural integrity of the pricing, service, and experience needs to step its game up in the worst way. We certainly see this place being a bit turned up and precarious in later hours. The closest parking that is reliable enough is the Safeway garage so it is not the most convenient, where as at least Matchbox has the Wayne and Colesville garages to park at and then enter. It was nice to support the Black owned establishment but it is a 1 and done spot. Majic 102.3 put in the hype a couple of years ago, but I found the truth, no thanks, it is a performative culture that still has that ole Georgia Ave. street culture.
