Last week I unexpectedly met the delivery driver as I was leaving and he was arriving. What a super Polite and Professional person. Up to this point I have only interacted via technology with Pleats. They make everything so easy. Place the bag outside twice a week get perfectly cleaned and pressed clothes back. It was nice to see the people are first rate too. read more

They were FABULOUS! I wish they were a chain and in every city I go to. They quickly dry cleaned what I needed and replaced a button on the top and even went searching for the perfect button to match the style of my top. I mean, come on. I had this white cover like a Long Beachy linen shirt. They charged me for a dress. It was 16$ with the 20% off for new customer. She right away told me that they probably won't get the stain out which did not give me that great of confidence. We I went to pick it up there was still the stain. read more

5 things I care about: 1. Is my clothing returned clean? Yes 2. Is my clothing returned without flaws or substantial damage from the cleaning process? Yes 3. Does the business take steps to protect the environment? Yes. 4. Are the prices reasonable? Ehh. I guess. I assume it's more pricey to run a green cleaner so I'll give Pleats the benefit of the doubt. 5. (If I am a prolific customer) Does the business ever go above/beyond for me? Nope. Other than the pretty steep pricing (which I'm willing to overlook as I appreciate the environmental efforts), this is my sticking point with Pleats. Once, just once, I'd appreciate a rush on an order. Don't say it can't be done. Everything can be done. When I finish signing a receipt for $250+, I would like to feel like the recipient has some sense of loyalty to help in the infrequent situation that I need a little extra help. read more

We use Pleats home pick up and delivery service and it is really awesome. When you get your cleaning back, you can see that they have been cared for (especially sweaters, they're usually like new). The clothes are clean, but they also seem to wear longer before having to be cleaned again. When I've gone into the store in Des Peres to pick things up, I have noticed that they go out of their way to call regular customers by name, which is very impressive. There are so few local businesses that really seem to care about how they treat customers, but Pleats seems to "get it". That's why we will continue to use them and tell our friends. read more

One of three eco-friendly dry cleaners in STL. No hazardous waste being dumped into our water supply and no toxic chemicals on your clothes! That is a win-win for me! (By 2010 California is outlawing regular dry cleaning!) The service is impeccable, no disinterested high school students, the employees actually know what they are doing and our quick and friendly. We've been going to Pleats for many years and are extremely happy. They know exactly which process to use for cleaning, especially on men's shirts. (some shirts need dry cleaning vs. laundering, etc...) The pricing is a little high but well worth the preservation of your clothes so they last longer. All clothing is barcoded so it makes it easier for things not to get lost. They also do a good job of getting stains out. read more

I found out about Pleats after they put an Ad on my front door (ironic because I typically throw these away without reading them). They offer free pick up and delivery as long as you average $50 in dry cleaning per month - I average much more than that. They take all of the hassle out of using dry cleaners. They give you two large vinyl bags with tagged with your information (and a hook to hang on your door). Simply hang your dry cleaning on your door every Tuesday and Thursday and they will pick it up and drop of your dry cleaning from the previous run. That service was enough to keep me as a happy customer. As a bonus, they do a great job! They use an organic process that eliminates that chemical smell that you usually get from dry cleaners. A few other nice touches: * They use large hangers - no more of the dreaded "hanger nipple". * They remove all of your collar stays and give them back to you in an envelope (I can't tell you how many of these I lose every month). * They automatically bill you once a month - now I can throw away my check book since my previous dry cleaners were the last establishments that did not except credit cards. The only downfall is that they are not cheap. I believe they charge $6.50 for a pair of slacks but they added benefits are well worth the cost. read more

2 pair of pants, $20. Pricey, but I gave them a chance since they are supposed to be "green" /non-toxic. Well after 2 days, I get them. Poorly pressed, white/blonde fibers and hairs on dark pants. They were supposed to be cleaned and pressed. They were also folded awkwardly on the hangar with one of the cuffs half rolled up, not flat. Speaking of awkward, the socially awkward employee told me that they were a credit only business. This, as he dramatically spun around to point out their "firm" policy, written in chalk, behind him on the bottom of the chalkboard. This spot is covered up by his body in the normal operation of business. I was not informed at any time of this policy until it came time to pay. Furthermore, when I got home I noticed a barcode was placed on my pants. It does not come off, unless you want to destroy the pants. Who said they could damage my property? Did I unknowingly sign something that said they now own my pants and can tag it as their own? A removable sticker on the hangar for identification is acceptable, not a permanant barcode on my property. When I asked about their "green" washing method, I got "I am not sure, I think is uses silicone". I cannot recommend this place due to: -poor cleaning -poor pressing -poor service -dumb payment policy -lack of communication with customer -socially awkward employees -damage to property -sketchy "green" status - expensive read more

your dry-cleaning won't stink when you take it to pleats. i found this service- oriented, green dry cleaners shortly after they opened a couple of years ago - they offer dry cleaning WITHOUT the nasty chemicals & smells that dry cleaning usually comes with. as a "green" consumer, i always hated that chemical odor and wondered what else it was doing to me and the environment. they'll even pack your cleaning in a re-usable vinyl zip-bag (i'll love it when they do recycling of these bags) and carry your cleaning out and load it in your vehicle. i put my money where my mouth is! read more

I came to Pleats because I was tired of picking up shirts from other dry cleaners in town only to discover black marks or tears that weren't there when I dropped them off. After getting a tip from a suit salesman about where I could take a suit to get dry cleaned where it wouldn't get ruined, he suggested Pleats. His suggestion was golden. My clothes come back looking brand new. They even had a special for first time customers. Sure it's a bit more expensive than most, but if you have something special you don't want ruined the premium is more than worth it. read more

Summary - This place is not all that it is hyped up to be. I'm all about paying for what you get and I believe in paying more for good services but this place was not the case. I was a new customer, this was a bad first impression. I dropped off a suit and 3 pairs of dress pants last week. When I dropped my clothes I had mentioned to the clerk that there was a food stain of some salad dressing on the sleeve and he brushed me off saying "oh they'll see it and take care of it". Every where else I go, the cleaners would've marked the area with tape. but I figured maybe they were just that good. Well I picked up my clothes last night and paid over $30 for cleaning. Took out the suit jacket to wear this morning and it was wrinkled in some areas!! Didn't I pay you people to dry clean it which means it should've been ironed or pressed or something ?! So that was annoying, because I was expecting it to be ready to wear and instead I had to run my garment steamer over it. Then once I got to work, I noticed the sleeve with the stain is still there! Don't drop your clothes off here for any sort of next day cleaning. You're probably going to find them on the floor and in worse condition than you dropped them off. Dropped my a suit and shirt off for next-day dry cleaning. The staff assured me my clothes would be ready the next morning after I explained I needed them done for a wedding. Arrived the following morning to find that not only were my clothes not done. But that they had been scattered randomly throughout their building. Some of them were even on the floor. read more

Excellent. i've brought my dry cleaning and shirts for laundering to them for a year now. You get your clothes back clean, well pressed, and best of all, non toxic. The pricing is fair, By St Louis standards, they are not expensive for a non toxic cleaner. I've tried others, but, the other non toxic cleaners were by no means non toxic .Pleats actually is. I have only been here a few times, but from now on I will continue to go back. I had dropped off 3 decently expensive winter coats (1 was a rain jacket) and picked them up before I was to leave town. I needed the raincoat. While on vacation, I had a message that they had found my designer gloves and were going to hold them under my name until I came to get them. The point of the story? I didnt even know I left them in the pockets and i wouldnt have noticed until next November that they were gone. IRONICALLY I did this about 4 years ago with the same name brand gloves, however noticed it about a week later from Westway. They of course didnt have them and there was nothing they could do. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, Stay Away!!! I got my designer wedding dress dry cleaned and it took them over 4 months! I called twice to find out the status of my dress and both times the person who answered the phone said they didn't know where my dress even was!!!! When my dress was finally done, I went to pick it up and the employees couldn't find it yet again! On top of it they threw out my designer garment bag that my dress came in! When I asked for my designer bag back they said they didn't know where if was but said it was somewhere in the store and they would have the dry cleaner (the owner Ben) who cleaned my dress call me. I waited a week. No call. I called everyday for a week but the boss was apparently was never there or just had left they said. I felt like I was being avoided! Two weeks later I finally got a hold of the boss. He was HORRIFIC!! When I asked about my garment bag he was very rude and said they didn't have it and proceeded to tell me it's just a garment bag it's not a big deal. This was very frustrating as I wanted to resell my dress and needed the original bag. They LOST my property!! When I told him all my issues I had with it taking 5 months to get my dress done and my dress going missing and now them loosing my property and asked to be refunded or discounted on the very expensive $200 I had to pay to get my dress cleaned he yelled at me!! He began to harass me on how I could afford a designer dress? Asked me what I did for a living? Told me it was my responsibility to inform him I wanted my garment bag back after cleaned? I apparently was suppose to tell him also the cost of my dress so they knew it was designer? And he wouldn't let me talk, he kept telling me he was talking, he ended the call by swearing at me and then hung up on me!! This is by far the most unprofessional dry cleaning company around!! The owner Ben and Ryan don't care about their customers. Ben was very rude and arrogant. Safe to say they don't care about your property if they ruin it or it loose it. I highly suggest going elsewhere as I had a nightmare experience dealing with them. They never did discount it refund me on loosing my property or tried to handle the situation professionally.
