As far as Marriott's go this is mediocre. No welcome at the front desk, no acknowledgement of status or even a friendly interaction. There were definitely a few homeless people living there, and hanging out in the club food area. I did pay extra for that benefit, and the food was gross. Stayed here for work again as part of a group. Two things will drive this review: housekeeping and the internet service provider. I stayed four nights this time around. The first night, housekeeping did an amazing job serving the room. It was exactly what I expected. In fact, because I rarely see good servicing since COVID, I was going to leave a tip. Then the rest of the days came. After that first night, they simply changed the towels and straightened the bed. Nothing more and they didn't empty the trash. The third and fourth days, it was clear the housekeeping team phoned it in. The last night the bed wasn't really straightened. As for the internet. The first three days it worked great. The last night, it kept prompting me to log in and the pop-ups were endless. In the end, it never worked. When I called the front desk to ask them to reverse the charges, the desk clerked laughed at me that I couldn't get the internet working. I'm fairly tech savvy, so I know it wasn't me. See the picture below...and the endless popups. In the end, the Pleasanton Marriott is an OK property, just don't expect a clean room if you're staying more than one night. read more

I stay in Marriott hotels at least 50% of the year. It takes a LOT to make me write a poor review. I'm a Marriott titanium member, I was Ambassador until I didn't meet the $23k spent last year. This may be hands down one of the worst stays I've experienced in a long time. Upon check in, I was required to sign a good neighbor agreement. I thought this was quite odd as this hotel is in a very quiet area with really nothing within walking distance. Who is coming here to cause some chaos? I started reading the terrible reviews and thought no way could they be right. Oh, they were spot on. The rooms are tiny. The beds are pretty much micro beds. I normally get a king bed, but my son and husband are traveling with me, so I got what they claimed to be 2 queen beds. They are not queen, possiblity doubles? Where do I start. The AC.... It sounds like a jet plane. It is so loud, I have no idea how I am going to sleep through the noise. I guess the positive is that it is drowning out the noise from next door. The noise is two people talking which is at a normal tone. The issue is that the adjoining door has a gap so big that I can put my toes in their room. The restaurant/bar? We waited about 8 minutes before we even saw the bartender. In that time we were able to observe dirty glasses and garbage around the working area of the bar. When he is arrive, he was very unfriendly. We ordered a round of drinks, we would have ordered more, but as when we first arrived, he continued to disappear. Now I call this the bar/restaurant, but honestly it's super strange because it is pretty much part of the check in area and so close to the entry doors that everytime they opened, I got hit with a freezing wind. There is more, but I need to see if I can get Uber to deliver earplugs so that I have a chance of sleeping through the extremely loud AC/heat. read more

We travel a lot and have our list of favorites. The Marriott in Pleasanton just made our list. I'll get the one big negative thing out of the way to get to the good stuff. The reason we booked the hotel was because y'all had a Jacuzzi! We have horrible cold weather in Sacramento and my wife was really looking forward to that. Problem: It was NOT hot (luke warm at best) in the evening AND when we checked it again the next morning... Ok, now some reasons that we will come and give it another try. First of all breakfast at hotels is usually not so good. The Marriott did a great job for a few bucks extra. The food was good and the service was even better, very friendly and they went the extra mile. The bed was really comfortable and rooms have more than adequate space. I like feather pillows and that's what they felt like. Shower design and options were also so nice. When we entered the room, it was already warm and the lights were on for us. We come here every year for a soccer tournament during Halloween time. They are kind enough to let us trick or treat during the stay our soccer team purchases rooms for the weekend. Complimentary breakfast is a plus and they have a bar inside, what more could you ask for? Swimming pool has a nice area as well as a hot tub. Last year I had the pleasure of running into a comedian on our stay. Customer service is great as well. Will be back next year for sure. Forgot to add they also have a decent sized gym with dumbbells and cardio machines. read more

We came in late on Friday's night, Leslie was at the front desk and checked us in with ease. She gave us a few bottles of water as complementary items. I asked about the Gift Card but it requires manager's approval. Not her's fault. She tried to help as much as she could. Overall, hotel is nice with recent update. Pool was ok but hot tub was great. Bathroom was renovated so it's nice and clean. Marriot should allow any of their employees to approve the gift card. Leslie and the manager deserve a rate with their exceptional customer service. Nothing notable to complain about. I could of course nit pick any hotel - but this was decent, so full marks given where credit is due. The room was clean, ac worked, shower was hot. All the usual hotel room items. Food downstairs was decent. Place seems to be well run. No saggy beds, plenty of water, and can stream Netflix on the TV. Dunno why this place has a 3.2 star rating. Seems fine to me. Amenities are up to par, water is freely available around the hotel, pool is clean. The professionalism of the staff alone turns this hotel that would otherwise be rated a 4 star hotel into a 5 star. Upon check-in, it was determined that due to military and group bookings, the room I reserved was not available. While under any other circumstances, this could probably be considered disastrous, the staff did their due diligence to accommodate our needs. A huge shout out to Nicole and Byron, as they quickly remedied the situation to make our stay comfortable! The rooms were very clean, quiet, and comfortable. My niece had her wedding in Sunol, and she picked this hotel for her wedding guests, she was able to block out several rooms and get us a discounted rate. When I called to book my room, the person who helped me named Ruth was very nice and professional. She booked my room with ease. We are from out of town and while we were killing some time before check in, I got an email saying our room was ready for a early check in, almost 3 hours before! We were able to check in right from my phone and got our keys at the front desk. Quick and easy! The rooms were a little on the smaller side, we got two double beds, the space was tight but the rooms were clean and comfortable. There was one SMALL closet and not enough space for your luggage. The lobby was very nice it has a restaurant and a full bar. The staff was very nice and helpful. The pool area was very nice, has a nice large sitting area, fire pit, the wedding party hung out in the pool area, ordered food and drinks it was a nice relaxing space. From the moment we arrived and were checked in by Steve, we knew that we would be in for a pleasant, relaxing time! The accommodations were so comfortable and ample. Beds and linens were amazing! We overlooked the pool area, which was great. Breakfast was soo yummy! Had the buffet for a few mornings and then ordered off of the menu for some variety. Staff in the Market area were so attentive! Rheyschell, Jocelyn and Teresa were always on their game. We are Platinum Elite mambers so we also frequented the M Club. Karla was a whirlwind, keeping all of the area stocked. Thermostat auto switches from heat to cool so can't maintain constant temperature. No way to turn it off. Nice refurbished room since here a few years ago. The Pleasanton Marriott is a very nice hotel. My husband and I stayed one night on New Year's Eve and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was not too busy on New Year's Eve, so the hotel upgraded us to a room on a higher floor facing the pool with M club lounge access. The M Club was stocked with snacks, drinks, sodas, and coffee. The lounge had lots of tables, chairs, and TV's, which was perfect so everyone who used the lounge could spread out. Lounge access also means free hot buffet breakfast in the morning. The front desk/lounge area was nicely decorated for Christmas. The rooms were very nice, modern with hardwood floors. I am always a fan of Marriott beds and these were no different. They were nice and firm. I seriously slept like a baby on them. The hotel also has a pretty good sized gym, pool, and jacuzzi. Another plus of this hotel is that there is free parking. There is no permit needed and they do not charge a daily fee to park like some other nicer hotels do. I stayed here for the weekend for a conference (we used conference facilities & catering) and highly recommend! Hotel: spacious room that was clean and functional. Only downside was the hvac system was either hot or cold. Bed and pillows were average. They don't have cribs but offered us a pack n play which I didn't use. It was enough space for 2 adults & a baby (we brought our own bassinet). Conference space: typical space but it was comfortable & had better than average lighting. They didn't have tech support so we had to figure it out. Catering: staff was phenomenal & the breakfast & lunches were delicious! They accommodated food restrictions too! Free parking & cabanas by the pool though it was raining when we were there. Convenient location! read more

If you're looking for a bad place to stay, this is your place. Here are the main issues: -Water Shutoff: It remained unavailable for two hours. -Water Quality: When running water in the sink and shower, it came out brown, raising serious concerns about cleanliness and safety. -Misrepresented Laundry Facilities: The hotel was advertised on Expedia as having onsite laundry, but upon check in I was informed that the service was offsite at a sister property. The limited onsite machines were inadequate, with one out of the two washing machines out of order. -Noise Issues: Walls are paper thin. I could hear EVERYTHING from neighboring rooms. Unfortunately, Yelp doesn't support videos or else I would include in review. -Wi-Fi Connectivity: Unbelievable slow. -Customer Service Issues: Rude. I'll leave it at that. -Heating Issues: The room's thermostat was unreliable, leaving the temperature inconsistent and uncomfortable. -Mariott Points: You won't receive any points if you book through third-parties even if you're a loyal member. read more

There is a lot to like about the Dublin Pleasenton Marriott, but a lot of it didn't fit our needs. To start off with, this is not a hotel for people without a car. Beyond the restaurant that serves a fantastic morning buffet and a few dinner dishes, there are no easily walkable restaurants, and certainly no walkable grocery stores. It's surrounded by corporate offices and a couple small malls - although sadly quite a few of the mall stores are now empty, which gives the area a rundown deserted feeling. The safest way to the closest grouping of food based stores is to take the BART pedestrian overpass, but even though as the crow flies it looks close, it's about a 30+ minute hike each way to the closest Sprouts and CVS. We didn't realize how extremely isolated the hotel was, because Google says it's a 20 minute walk to the nearest Amazon Locker - it's not. If you're prepared to use your car each day you should be fine, but without one, Lyft and Uber aren't common enough in this area so it takes a good long while to get Doordash, Instacart, or an Uber/Lyft ride and currently the hotel no longer offers a shuttle. The hotel itself is fairly posh (outside of questionable elevators) and seems to have been upgraded recently. The pool area especially looks straight out of a resort. The M Lounge access tack-on is a great touch and overall worth it if you're part of a couple that plans to eat breakfast at the buffet ($25/pp) each day. The room was also overall very comfortable and comes with a safe, although the included fridge (without a temperature knob) doesn't stay very cold. Our main issue with the hotel was that the A/C filter in our room needed to be changed and was covered in dirt. We toughed it out by leaving the window open but the poor A/C air quality mixed in with the automatic bathroom lights (which loved to turn on by themselves) gave me three nights of less than 6 hours of sleep. This was partly due to the bathroom door not being opaque - so any type of bathroom light (even with a closed door) was bright like a search beacon, definitely not a plus for light sleepers. The buffet and the floor to ceiling window that opened up about 6 inches to a gorgeous view were the top value adds for us - the pool is nice, but receives a lot of debris from the surrounding trees. The three stars instead of only two is because the gentleman at the front honored it when we were misquoted that we could check out early at no charge. He let us know normally they do not refund unused nights, so it was much appreciated. Overall, I would say if you are attending a conference or working within a 10 mile radius, have a car and aren't a light sleeper, this hotel will work out just fine for you. Otherwise I'd choose to stay at the more walkable Livermore outlet area, so at the very least you have another option to the hotel buffet. read more

I was informed that we will have our room on the ground floor. when I checked the app we were given room on the second floor. when I called front desk , I was informed that my room was given away because they have a soccer team checked in . disappointing to give away our room. then I was given a room that was disgusting the mattress was dirty/ large stain . you lost my trust by giving away our room. after COVID how can Marriott have guest sleep on such dirty mattress. Hotel gave away reservation before I arrived. Oversold and didn't keep the reservation as booked 2 weeks prior (and confirmed 3 days prior) leaving me without a room. Contacted Marriott Corporate the following morning and was told by "Brenda" (who would not provide a direct number nor a last name) that the property couldn't explain what had happened other than that they are over sold. Great experience. We were early and Brook was very accommodating, extremely kind and checked us in early, even let us pick our room. Thoroughly explained all the amenities. Our stay had breakfast included. Unfortunately pool was closed but they had an alternate solution but was re-openned the next day. Buffet was good, waitresses we're nice. Located right next to the freeway and near gas stations. Parking free and abundant. No hidden fees, all as expected. The app is a wonderful resource, you can even use your phone as a key Refrigerator in room along with iron/board. Will def be back. read more

Our first night we had to park very at edge of parking lot since there was some party. Room service never answers. Front desk never answers. The in-room coffee is disgusting. The rooms are actually pretty nice looking but there's just so many different things missing that you normally get there's no microwave there's no closet nothing to hang clothes on. No bathtub which I thought the room came with but it's just a shower. There's no option to turn the air or heater off so it just stays on and it's very loud. There's only about 20 channels on the TV and The Wi-Fi is very slow not even enough to stream anything they will however sell you their premium internet for $14 or whatever it is. I'm never coming back to this place that's for sure. They don't even have vending machines I don't know if it's because they think this there too fancy to have a vending machine or whatever but that's pretty lame. read more

However, all of that was made up for and then some! Amazing planning staff, amazing food, amazing flexibility, amazing communication (once it was assigned to someone). Absolutely above and beyond in ensuring our needs were met. Room block was provided for our ball guests and they even donated a night stay as a raffle prize. Very happy with this venue. read more

I visit the area frequently and the Pleasanton Marriott has become my go-to hotel. There's a couple other Marriott properties within 1-2 miles, but this one is the best. The lobby is updated and spacious and this property generally feels very open -- no crowds or wait for the elevator. The rooms were recently renovated during COVID and now have hard flooring, which I appreciate. No nasty hotel carpet here! The M Club is available for members w/ Marriott status or can be purchased separately for a daily fee. It's always stocked with soda, sparkling water, and snacks. Throughout the day, they also serve complimentary hot appetizers. Nothing gourmet, but good enough if you need a snack. The hotel restaurant is ok. Not terrible, but there are certainly much better restaurants nearby. Biggest downside is that finding parking can be difficult, especially at night. read more

The Pleasanton Marriott is a nice choice to stay at. It's located in a convenient area near many shopping & food options. There's a lot of parking spaces available for guests. The lobby was nice and clean with modern interior touches. There's a variety of public places to sit for guests who want to mingle. There's a beautiful outdoor swimming pool area with a hot tub, day beds and lawn chairs, but due to Covid-19, the entire area is closed. Too bad... I would have loved to spend some time in the water. The staff are kind and professional. Everyone wore masks. Covid-19 & social distancing restrictions were enforced. They even had a cleaning video playing in the hotel lobby throughout the day. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and very clean. I like that they have a comfy lounge chair to enjoy watching the large swivel TV on, besides in the bed. The refrigerator was great for keeping our food fresh. The bathroom had good water pressure. I would recommend staying here if you're in the Pleasanton area. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. I would stay here again. Positives: Nice pool area. Right off the highway. Comfortable lounge. Comfortable bed. Clean. Quiet on the pool facing side. Large plentiful luggage carts at main entrance. Free parking. Neutral or Negative: Hotel is a maze--you can't park in front of your room and easily load and unload. There is ample parking--you will get a free spot somewhere but it can be a walk and move to get things into your room. I did not mind--just cautioning you. They have really nice luggage carts to offset that. Staff is efficient, will get you what you need, but they will not baby you. Breakfast buffet is $20 a person. Million Dollar Tip: There is a great Asian restaurant just a 5-minute car drive away on the other side of the highway: Burma Burma 7294 San Ramon Rd (Get the Pepper Chicken or Pepper Shrimp dish.) read more

The Pleasanton Marriott is started showing her age, but still well maintained and comfortable. The gentlemen at the front desk help me check in was wonderful! He keeps looking for the rooms until he found me the room I wanted even on a sold out day. The room I have is clean, maintained in good condition and comfortable. The walls and door also does a good isolation. I don't hear anything from next door or the hallway. The only problem I have is the air condition system seems not working very well! The temperature in the room go up and down too much even I don't touch the setting. I have sets the temperature for 74 degrees, but the room is too hot when the heater turn on and too cold when the heater turn off at night! The location of the hotel is good and lots of parking available even on a sold out day. It is also very nice Pleasanton Marriott parking is free. A lots of shopping mall or restaurants near by. The location is excellent. I know I'll be back next time when I'm in the areas. read more

Stayed for a two day trip to attend the Alameda County Fair with our grandchild. The room suited our needs and the beds were very comfortable. The downstairs area was spacious and the food was good. We enjoyed the large outdoor pool for its hot tub, gazebo covered cabanas and beautiful landscaping- it's all about the pool when you have kids and it's opened until 10 pm. We enjoyed family friendly places nearby, Earl Anthony's Dublin Bowl, and Mission Hills Park before the fairgrounds opened at noon. When we go again this summer, we plan to stay longer and spend a day at Santa Cruz Beach & Boardwalk which is only an hour drive from Marriott Pleasanton. read more

This is a great hotel. Everyday walking in and out their staff will greet you with a smile. There are plenty of parking on site. Large lobby bar/restaurant. The M lounge is large and clean. You get some snacks and drinks 24/7. Morning breakfast you get through the regular restaurant in the lobby through the back door of the lounge. You come back in with your food along with a small variety of food inside the lounge. For dinner, they have a few hot plates as snacks or appetizers.
