I've lived in the Warren area almost all my life. I had never been there before today. Their dining area isn't the biggest, but the staff more than makes up for it. They are very friendly and welcoming. My friend told me to order the Gyro because it is a good Greek restaurant. I did. I was not disappointed. All in all, it was a great restaurant with great food. I ordered my burger medium well - it was almost rare. It was also the sloppiest burger I have ever eaten. And, the pie had nothing distinctive about it - it tasted like store bought pie from the the freezer. The price made me feel like I should be able to expect more. My Dad has been coming here since he was in high school (back in the 50s/60s). He took my brother and I here one day just for the pie, and good god... it's SO WONDERFUL. Made by Maria every morning, it's fresh, THICK cut, creamy, and cool. The flavors range from their famous Graham Cracker Cream to French Chocolate Silk with Peanut Butter topping (my favorite) to an assortment of fruit pies. We went there yesterday on a whim to have lunch (yes, they have more than pie -- a full Greek and American Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner menu). My brother got the Moussaka (kind of like a Greek shepherd's pie) and he's been raving about it ever since. I got the Souvlaki (a pocket sandwich with Greek Salad and marinated chicken), and my boyfriend got the Cuban burger (he has said he wants another one about 12 times now...). Hmmm the Pie, well I tried 2 and can't say I'd get it again. Cherry and the coconut cream. It was fine. BUT what I'm really here to talk about was the Buffalo burger. HOT DAMN! Locally sourced ground buffalo meat, I got mine with swiss and mushrooms. Holy heaven, I wasn't expecting much and this knocked my socks off. Perhaps one of the best burgers I've had. Traveling to Warren on business is quite the hike from Pittsburgh. After my business meeting I had a craving for Greek food and came across Plaza. I sat up at the bar area where you can see straight into the kitchen. The place was packed! Service was fast and very friendly. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken and it was delightful! It comes with a boiled egg, peporcini, feta, romaine, tomato, potato, and pita bread. The Greek dressing was great! All told my bill came to under $8 and I left feeling very satisfied and knowing that if I come back to Warren I will be back @ Plaza. We were in town for a show, and looking for a decent place for dinner. We decided to try the plaza since it looked busy. Was not impressed by the decor, but we were greeted promptly and with a friendly smile. My girlfriend had the slouvaki, and I had the fried fish dinner. My husband and I often go here for a laid back meal together. We love the Greek food options. They also serve a great cup of coffee, and the graham cracker pie is to die for. Whenever I visit a new town, its a necessity to try something local and original. The Plaza is a relaxing place in downtown Warren with a unique menu. If you like Greek, you'll like the Plaza. The Souvlaki left something to be desired, but the feta cheese and homemade ranch were excellent. I looked at all these reviews, even from other sites, I went in looking for some darn good Greek food. I must say I left less than satisfied. My wife ordered the gyro, the sandwich was made to her wishes, she said "county fair gyros were better". I ordered the Greek salad, it was saturated in the house dressing. It just looked like the salad was thrown on the plate. The best part of my meal was the slice of graham cracker cream pie. It was wonderful. I was sad to find out you have to place an order for an whole pie a day in advance. I will visit them again and try something else., hopefully the next visit will be better. read more

Wednesday, May 13th: After a two hour drive to Blair in Warren, PA from south of Buffalo, NY, and discovering the store had nothing to offer in what we (myself, sister and cousin) were shopping for, even more disappointing was my meal at The Plaza. The atmosphere there was very comfortable, however the waitresses were very unprofessionally dressed, even though efficient. Food prices were somewhat reasonable, service good, but food not great. I ordered a half order of chicken and biscuit, my sister a tuna melt and my cousin the taco salad. They were happy with their meal, I not so much, I had to pay full price for a half order and the half biscuit was not edible. I couldn't even stick my fork upright into it, harder than a rock. When I told the waitress, she said I'm sorry but there was no offer to reduce the price of the meal, which is restaurant common courtesy. As a former waitress and restaurant manager, I wouldn't think of letting a customer leave the establishment unhappy about their meal experience without some type of compensation. This place has its highs and its lows. Gelatinous blobs of mac and cheese and far too much mayo in the chicken/tuna salads. Anything off the grill is delicious - bacon grilled cheese, a burger, etc. Breakfast sandwiches are good. Salad is a bit anemic but you can pay extra to add spinach. Have had some disappointing BLTs. Always, always super busy at/around the lunch hour, which affects service - and it's a good idea if you're doing take out to keep an eye for when your food is ready - I've had orders sit on the back counter for over 10 minutes before anyone realized they were ready. Living in Buffalo, NY there are many Greek restaurants that have "the best souvlaki" but they truly don't...I tell everyone up here you haven't had Souvlaki until you have had The Plaza Souvlaki. I live 3 blocks from the Plaza Restaurant. In the last 5 years I have given this place 10 chances...no more. My arm tired from swatting the flies on 3 occasions, the service was slow and sloppy on 2 visits, the cooks (in sight) were confused, overwhelmed and careless at least twice and the other 3 times I got an okay meal that was twice as costly and half as satisfying as any meal I have gotten at the Train Station. read more

Been going there for years. Service could be better. Takes forever to get a refill on your drink if you order soda. I have ordered the Greek food quite a few times. I have gotten sick a few times when ordering food that came with ranch dressing. So I steer clear of anything with dressing on it. Overall, not the worst place. Moving to the warren area, we love to find mom n pop`s in the hopes of getting a homemade meal. I dont get a burger very often anymore because I've been let down so many times. But iread a few reviews and they where positive so i went for it. It was one of the better burgers I've had in a long time. They are fried on a flat top that i assume is the original from there grand opening 50plus yrs ago.it had that great char that only comes from an old flat to. I had the half lb with bacon,swiss n mushroom only complaint was its cooked their way and its well done. It still had lots juices left in it. The fries where fresh and the slaw was not the best but homemade i am sure. Wife had the gyro it was the usual premade steakum looking meat with homemade cucumber dressing. She gave it an ok. I think the prices wher a little high for what we got. A burger,fries,slaw and a water for me and a gyro and diet coke for her, we shared the fries. We gotm2 slices of homemade pie to go. That was all $28+tip. We got a slicemof banana cream and their number 1 seller, the craham cracker cream. Both where good but $4 per slice. The waitress was friendly and a smiles. All in all a good meal. We will definitely be going back. Ps, they no longer have a burger made with buffalo meat. read more
