This experience was a 4.0-4.5. The service was slow and it took a long time for the food to come out. Yet it was during a week day and it was not very busy. That being said the food was enjoyable. My guest had the Lamb Kabob Platter and I had the Sirloin Beef Kabob Platter. I tried the lamb and enjoyed it but I liked the sirloin beef slightly more. I enjoyed the sauce that came with the meal as well - it went well with the lamb as well as the sirloin beef. The kebsa rice is good and they give you a whole lot of it which is appreciated. Service and portion size are great but the flavor of the sauces leaves a lot to be desired. Have we had worse Greek food? Absolutely. But a lot people speak highly about habibi and it did not live up to the hype for us. The good: I enjoyed the side salad a lot. It was fresh & well chopped. The kabobs & rice had nice flavor to it. We also enjoyed the falafel appetizer. I think it came with 6 falafels and chopped cucumber, tomato, fresh herbs & slices of pickles with tzatziki The not so good: Personally, my husband and I disliked all the sauces. The garlic sauce had minced garlic in it and tasted more like a light garlic aioli than a traditional garlic sauce. The tzatziki was bland and lacked complexity. I couldn't taste any lemon, cucumber or fresh mint/dill in it at all. It was just a white creamy sauce. The hummus app seemed freshly made but lacked flavor as well. It was heavy on the tahini which overpowered any lemon, herbs or chickpeas in it. At the end of the day, I hate writing a review like this. This was my first time here at this place. The restaurant is located in the same building as an Amtrak station. It has a comfortable vibe inside. The lentil soup was my favorite, as well as the Cheese fatayer (tasted similar to a cheese pizza). For my main dishes, I had the sweetheart platter, with three meats, and the shrimp kabob. The shrimp skewers were quite dry, but the kofta kabob (minced beef) and beef kabob were delicious. The garlic sauce really went well with the dish. Simply the best middle-eastern food this side of PA, if not further, all at incredible prices! I called my order in ahead of time, although I still had to wait 5-10 minutes after arriving past the promised ready time. I got the red rice with a kofta kebab. I got the platter served with a side salad. It came with a flavorful tzatziki like sauce on the side. The rice was especially flavorful and the ground sirloin was seasoned well. The side of hummus was pretty good, although a bit tahini heavy. The vegetable dolma was delicious. Overall, I thought the value was excellent for the portion size. Visited Erie for the first time in about 3y. This restaurant has been on my "go to list" for quite sometime. So glad i finally made it over for lunch to try it. When first entering the restaurant I noticed it was very clean, bright and welcoming. The service was top notch. There were two of us on this visit ordering food for lunch.We had a shrimp salad and the beef gyro. First the shrimp salad: the lettuce was chopped in to bite size pieces, love that. But the amount of grilled shrimp on the salad was insane. There were no less than 15 nice sized shrimp included. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture to post because you wouldn't believe it without seeing it. The beef gyro was also delicious. I noticed the meat was chopped up into smaller than usual pieces which made the wrap easy to eat. All in all, the food, ambiance and service were stellar. Out of all the places I have tried over the course of my travels, this is in the top 5 for Mediterranean food. This will definitely be a must go destination during all my future visits to Erie. read more

Another good yelp find while working in Erie. It is a small and cozy family run place. We tried the baba and dolma for appetizers, and I had beef kebab pita. I love that they use the thinner, more authentic type pita bread. The baba ganoush was a bit different, not as smoky as I am used to, but it was very good. I don't know why we have never seen this place to try before but I can't wait to go back. Some of the absolute best Mediterranean food I've ever had, I wish I could give this place 10 stars! We started with Baba Ganoush and the lentil soup. Both were absolutely amazing. My son and I split swordfish kabab platter and the lamb kabob platter with the red rice. We can both eat a lot and had to take some home. The meats were cooked perfectly with such awesome flavor. I suggest squeezing some lemon over the rice... omg! For dessert we tried the carrot cake, brownie, and baklava. All were really good but carrot cake was my favorite. The baklava was pretty small so I don't know if I'd get that again but the carrot cake was huge! Really looking forward to coming back and trying among other things their espresso. read more

My final week here in Erie, PA on business and I needed to find a Middle Eastern restaurant before I left, in the North Eastern part of America there are big populations of middle eastern people so I am in the right area. I struck up a conversation at my hotel with a housekeeper who moved here from Iraq and she told me about this place. In Arabic, Habibi means "Love". It's a tiny place but decorated nicely (no over the top kitschy stuff like some places do) and it's attached to a hookah lounge so you get a tiny smell of that thru the air which I enjoy. I ordered the Pick 3 Appetizer combo cause I couldn't decide. Falafel (kind of like a fried spiced chickpea fritter), Kibbeh (a bulgar wheat croquette that's stuffed with spiced ground sirloin and pine nuts) and Dolmas (steamed grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices). The Falafel has great crunch and was nicely spiced with plenty of herbs, the Kibbeh was a little greasy but the filling was moist and not dried out and the Dolmas were plump but since they were only stuffed with rice (I like mine with ground meat and rice) they were a little squishy. For dinner I ordered the Kofta. It's ground sirloin mixed with minced onion, parsley, sumac, and other spices then molded on a flat skewer and grilled. The entree came with a choice of soup or salad and I'm a sucker for Lentil Soup. This one was really good. Slow stewed so the lentils broke down and then a nice squeeze of lemon to brighten everything up. The Kofta was great, charred well but extremely juicy with great flavor, I ordered it with Kebsa Rice which is Basmati rice that's cooked with saffron, chicken stock, ground dates and spices. Unfortunately it didn't come with a charred whole tomato which I love to mix into the rice. For dessert I ordered the Knafeh and Turkish Coffee. I had to laugh cause the server said they had a brownie Sundae as the featured dessert. Not gonna ever order that. So if you've never had Turkish coffee it's kind of like Cuban coffee in the sense that it's served in a tiny cup and it's extremely strong. Good Turkish coffee should have almost a tar at the bottom from the grounds. Anymore then one cup and you aren't going to sleep for a few days. The Knafeh was good, it's a melty goey cheese philo dough pastry that's topped with cracked wheat, warmed then covered in Rose Water Simple Syrup and crushed Pistachios. So good but also very rich and filling. read more
