The food was cooked to order, but there was an odd taste to my dipped fried mushrooms, a flavor I couldn't identify. Examining closer, it was horseradish dipping sauce. OK. Not bad, but not expected. I loved my shrimp basket, and the huge side salad, which was included in the price. This is a very casual restaurant; the waitresses are in shorts, and most have at least one tattoo.

It's close to Holiday Valley & Holimont ski resorts and worth the 15 minute drive from both. The interior is airplane themed, as the restaurant sits near an airport ("fly-in"), and is pretty basic so don't go for the ambiance. Even though the ski resorts bring a lot of tourists this a locals spot that maintained a good crowd throughout the evening. Even with a crowd we were seated immediately and our waitress was great. We were there for their special Friday Fish Fry. The menu had the standard homestyle cuisine and they offerred several other specials. I went with the fish special and my wife chose the chicken parm. The fish was breaded, moist and delicous. The chicken parm dish was a lot of food but also really tasty. We left really full and our bill was under $40 for the two of us. It doesn't look like much but we really enjoyed the evening.

The owner is present almost all the time tending to things and checking in on tables. I have never ever had a bad meal here. Like not ever. Not even a mediocre meal. Always rates very good to great. From the steaks. To the seafood, to the Italian specialties.....just tops. It is hard to get into during the ski season, and not too easy even off season, so please do plan and make a reservation. If you can snag a booth, that is the best. The bar is a great place to come for a drink with a friend or to watch a sporting event. My most recent visit to the restaurant was this past Friday, a nice night in early May. We met some friends here for dinner. We had two appetizers of stuffed peppers which are absolutely amazing with just the right amount of heat, and the Nona's Meatball with gooey rich ricotta cheese.....yum yum. My husband ordered a house salad, which was crisp and delicious. For entrees, our companion couple ordered the twin filets and the fish fry. Both were reported to be fantastic. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan and I ordered the Chicken Milanese. Absolutely excellent. For dessert, both couples shared their own order of Tiramisu. I ordered an Espresso and that simply rounded out an amazing dinner. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Finally drinks (three sodas and house merlot) were delivered and we gave our food order. Then we waited and waited for more than an hour to receive any food. The first item served was something we did not order, and it continued to be downhill from there. A manager came over and apologized explaining two entrees were burned and they had to redo. She said we would get a free dessert (meanwhile we hadn't even eaten). Eventually, food arrived. The chicken parm was hot but the pasta was not. The orders of macaroni and butter for the kids were tasteless and mushy obviously having been overcooked and sitting in warm water. The bucatini carbonara was lukewarm and the Caesar salad we ordered was never was served. Yes the place was busy and the atmosphere was family friendly. Tyler was certainly trying, but completely befuddled. Not sure if this was a fluke experience or expectations at this restaurant are low to begin with. Our grandchildren ages 12, 10 and 7 were well behaved and patient but my husband and I were extremely angry and frustrated . Tyler was obviously overwhelmed as we observed other tables receive their food orders long after orders were put in. We were there for more than 2 1/2 hours, served mediocre food and received extremely poor, slow service. We did pay our bill and left a 20% tip, but we will never return again. As weekend visitors, this place was recommended. However, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Our experience was not good, very frustrating and unsatisfying. Service and food need improvement.

When looking for a good restaurant in the area, we learned that many places are closed on Monday so we were concerned. The four of us were completely delighted. a fresh delicious salad was included along with vegetables and twice baked potatoes. Cocktails were creative and delicious. This is a great spot, rather old school and comfortable. we got there early in the evening within an hour tables were filling up. Clearly there are many happy regulars who enjoy this wonderful place. Apparently we upset the waitress by not having everyone at the table when she came by. our friend had run to the restroom while we waited for service. we assumed the waitress was slammed because it was crowded and our friend gave us their order in case she came by while they were gone. She refused to take our order until. the person returned even though we told her we could order. She was clearly irritated and told us we would, "just have to wait" Ok, we waited, our friend returned she walked by multiple times spoke loudly to a table behind us about how busy she was and appreciated that they were all ready and at the table. The customers were clearly familiar to her as they responded by loudly commenting on how rude it was ... this continued with other tables to the degree that she went to the counter acros form our table and simply stared directly at me shaking her head and commenting to other customers about "rude people" When she finally came to take our order (about 20 minutes into our wait) she repeatedly made surprisingly snarky remarks. Actually ti felt like a weird SNL skit. I keep thinking someone was going to jump out and tell us we were bing "Punked". Nope. Then we got the food. It was just bad, tasteless, overcooked, just not good. There were some cooked carrots shaped into small balls on the plate. I didn't eat them. She actually stated to me, "you didn't eat your carrots!!" It was seriously bizarre. I see large crowds there. Maybe it's because of their baked goods. we didn't stay to try dessert.
