I'm happy that we asked some of the locals where to get dessert! This place has incredible pies, wow! I got the apple pie with a glass a milk. I would say, think about when your grandma whips up your favorite apple pie and that's it. Thin crust, lots of cinnamon glazed apples, and a very nice big slice! I was absolutely in heaven and wanted to try the rest of the pies! It'll have to wait for another day. Service- excellent hospitality from everyone of the staff. Specifically the guy behind the register, he was super kind and attentive. We observed him chatting with customers while we were chowing down. Amazing what hospitality and amazing food brings to a place. Ambiance - the sign of a well oiled machine. Lots of hard work and attention to detail with everyone's meal. Place was cute and clean. Off night for food, my fish was "Luke warm " at best, Mac and cheese was cool and dry. My wife ordered medium steak on her Greek salad and was well done. Service was great, McKenzie was kind, attentive and could not have been nicer. read more

The Plaza is one of 2 restaurants in Warren we had the pleasure of dining at twice during our visit - with 2 for 2 excellent experiences! First visit was in the evening - we arrived about an hour before closing - we were seated (inside dangerously close to the pie case;) with no wait. Our server brought menus & took our drink orders immediately. I ordered the Turkey & Bacon Panini & substituted Sweet Potatoes, while my GF ordered the Greek Panini w/ Sweet Potatoes also. Food arrived in just a couple of minutes & both were fantastic! Fries were excellent as well! Loved the hometown atmosphere - not too noisy ..just the bustle of the staff as we were near the front...near the pies. Being near the pies, we did sample one of them - tasty as well! Soooooo.... 2 days later we found ourselves back here - this time for lunch - were we both ordered the same items we had 1st time! :D Guess that speaks volumes as to what we thought of our first visit... Excellent. We sat at the counter and enjoyed watching the food being assembled. Service was attentive. The food was amazing. Husband got a gyro with fries. Bread was fresh. The ranch dressing was homemade. I had the Greek pasta with scrimp, feta, roasted red peppers, spinach, with pita bread. I had the smaller version but was very full. BUT not full enough to split a coconut cream pit. It was so fresh it was still warm. We can't wait to go back tomorrow since we are in town. read more

This restaurant was the most surprising fabulous experience! We are in town for business and asked locals where we should eat dinner. Their first recommendation was The Plaza. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable, but casual. The menu has a TON of food options. It was hard to decide. We ordered the pita bread and hummus, spinach pie, souvlaki, and a Graham Cracker Crème Pie. Omg - this food was waaaaaaay better than we even anticipated. We went at the worst time...615 on a Saturday night and two of us found (it is seat yourself) a two-person bar stool table open in about 5mins. It took another 10 before it got cleaned off and our drink ordered were taken. In that time a ton of people came in, walked around and looked, and left. Take out orders were going, too. Just a bit of chaos. The reason for this? They serve really good food and decent cocktails at a fair price. Our sandwiches were really good and the fries and rings super crispy with tender insides. Desert was solid, too. Just be patient and you'll have a nice meal. 4 stars for two reasons. 1) the bus and wait staffing needed another person. And 2) because from like 5 to 630 on a sat night you need a second person at the main counter to help communicate with customers and to manage traffic a little -- is it a huge problem? It's been around forever. I used to go in here for cherry or vanilla cokes in the 50's, and the place is still going. The food is somewhat diner type but good, inexpensive, decent service. The best are their pies; particularly lemon meringue and banana cream. Their Texas sauce is also very good on hot dogs or burgers. Most of the food has a Greek accent to it and anything Greek is a particularly good bet to have. Warren is dumpy train wreck of a town with little to offer. The Plaza is one of the better offerings of this hick nowheresville town, so yes, I am a fan of it. There really aren't many other choices in Warren. read more

This place was awkward when I first got there. Being a first timer, I wasn't quite sure what to do. Do I wait? Do I seat myself? Do I order then sit? And no one really seemed to want to help me even though I'm sure I looked confused. Once someone did come to my rescue is was all smooth sailing. The menu had a LOT of options and they're all cooked in the front of the restaurant. I got the Loaded Greek Nachos and OH MY GOD were they good. I was not impressed with my meal. It took forever to get and it was only fish, mash potatoes and broccoli. The broccoli was burnt and my fish was suppose to be a big fish and they gave me a small fish. They gave me a small amount of mashed potatoes. I didn't feel like I got a dinner meal. I felt like I got the lunch meal. The meal was $16.95 and that wasn't it. I am super pissed and very disappointed. We got there early and everyone was already getting there food. Excellent service from Mitchell, we sat outside and he brought 2 umbrellas to shade our one table. He checked in regularly but discreetly, and brought everything that we asked (extra water, extra tomato juice, extra everything). The food was great (gyro is most excellent, baklava is wonderful). The sidewalk seating is great (with said umbrellas), and they have a very nice dining room. They appear to be famous for their pies, which you should "investigate", but I cannot attest beside the baklava. read more

Pies just aren't the same anymore. Did a pickup of 3 slices of pie. Two blueberry and one lemon meringue. The lemon meringue had very little meringue and they put several spots of cake decorated cream on it from a cake decorating tip. Turned me off. Was the best place around for pie. Super cute little diner in the middle of Warren, Pa. Delicious food to a family of Texans. Going to be here a few more days and definitely going back to try another dish or two! Family friendly, reasonably priced, and so tasty! Today we had Texas burger, chicken wrap, and blackberry pie. The chili on the burger was different than or usually chili. It was sweet and smoky, not tomato based, but delicious! The wrap was by mistake (ours not theirs), but still tasty! Next time instead of a regular wrap, I'll be trying a Greek option! Been going here for over 20 years and make an annual visit when I visit Warren. I lived there years ago and it was a part of my daily life. They are still amazing and friendly and now they even modernized and take credit cards! I always get the greek salad with chicken or steak. I love you, Plaza! I am saddened by the fact that I will probably never set foot here again, since I have permanently moved to Seattle. The one good place that I could rely upon in Warren was the Plaza. I love the atmoshere, the small town charm... There are always people running into friends or family here, one thing you never see in a bigger city. I love the spinach pie on Thursdays! That was my standard for years. The egg salad sandwich with olives was awesome, too. Last but not least, the coconut-cream pie, which really should be called a coconut meringue pie. So tasty. Best pie ever.
