I had my first appointment today and I could not be more impressed! Dr. Mohebbi was very friendly an very through with my eye exam and took the time to explain and teach me better habits on how to take care of my eyes, not all doctors do that... Also the price was great, for a 3 month supply for contact lens supply was 45$ CHEAPER than COSTCO...and also the contact lens exam itself was also 60$ CHEAPER than Costco! However his staff is not so good efficient, I'm scheduled my appointment, went I show up at the office, this girl tells me that I don't have any appointment, besides that she told me that for the moment they didn't accept my insurance coverage, that I have to make another appointment for next month went they will be able to take that form of I insurance, it's not fear for me that take a day off for this, why don't telling me went they scheduled my appointment, is a shame, that Dr loose a customer for very incompetent personnel. read more

Dr Mohebbi is an excellent eye doctor. I have strongly recommended him to my family members and friends, and would do the same to others who are looking for an eye doctor. His examination equipment are modern and technologically advanced, and his office environment is quite comfortable and peaceful. My wife & I, as well as my extended family have had Dr. Mohebbi as our ophthalmologist for more over 6 years. He is a caring & communicative doctor who spends quality time with us during examination, and explains everything very well. Dr. Mohebbi is a caring and kind doctor with the highest level of expertise and professionalism. In the past twenty I had tried to get progressive lenses and tried it six time but every time it was a disaster and never worked until I visited Dr. Mohebbi' s office. I just picked up my new progressive prescription eyeglasses and I am so happy with it. His staff are also very nice and personable. My whole family now goes to their office for eye exam. DO NOT GO TO DR. MOHEBBI! Save yourself the headache, I wish I would have known what a terrible optometrist he is! He truly exemplifies the sad state of affairs in healthcare and the poor level of service/caring provided by healthcare practitioners. Short Version: -Prescribed the wrong glasses lens strength and made me come into his office 3-4 times due to his consistent errors and giving me trial contact lenses that exacerbated my eye issues -Overcharged me for my visit and didn't follow co-pay limits according to my insurance -Never disclosed the glasses frame return policy and then lied about it several times -Berated me as a patient, didn't listen to any of the issues I was having and cut me off -Extremely rude and unprofessional Long version: I recently moved to the area and needed to find a new eye doctor, so I went to see Dr. Mohebbi. This was hands down the worst decision I have ever made and I highly regret it. This was a very long saga, so bear with me. At my initial screening with him, I found him to be friendly. I told him I recently have been suffering from very dry eyes, and he told me I need to start wearing daily contact lenses rather than the monthly lenses I have been wearing for 10+ years. I never had an issue with monthly lenses, but he insisted (likely to make more money) so he gave me a trial pair to test. The trial pair was terrible, my eyes felt dry all day and the lenses moved around constantly, making my vision blurry. I went to his office a SECOND time to pick up my glasses and explain to him the issues I was facing. He gave me a 2nd pair of trial lenses to test and I went on my way. As I wore the new glasses, I noticed that my vision was significantly blurry and I wasn't seeing as well as with my old glasses, which made no sense. In addition, the 2nd pair of trial lenses still gave me dry eyes, so I had to go back to his office a THIRD time. He showed visible frustration at seeing me again and refused to listen to anything I was saying. He would cut me off and not allow me to speak. I tried to explain to him that my eyes still felt dry with the contact lenses and that the glasses were blurry, but he didn't want to hear any of it. He came up with excuse after excuse, saying the glasses didn't have anti-glare so that's why it was blurry and "don't argue with him" on that. He said I went to the East coast for a few days so that's why my eyes were dry with the new contact lenses (not true, I barely used them when I was there - but he wouldn't let me speak). He then went on to lecture me for 15 minutes and I have NEVER been so appalled in my life. He said that he is basically a psychiatrist, and he is not going to spend time trying to convince me to use daily lenses (I was testing daily lenses....so obviously I wasn't against trying something new). He said his time is precious and I am WASTING his time. He said that every time a patient orders contact lenses, he has to pay $15. I told him I never ordered contact lenses as I was just using trial pairs, he cut me off and repeated it again. He said that I was costing him money and that if I don't like the 3rd pair of trial lenses he gave me, I wouldn't like any lens brand in the world and don't come back. Clearly all he cares about is MONEY. As it turns out, the glasses prescription he gave me was WRONG so he agreed to change it. In a separate prior phone conversation, I told his secretary that I didn't like the frame, so his secretary said he would speak with Dr. Mohebbi; the secretary came back and told me I can change them no problem. When I had mentioned this during my THIRD visit, Dr. Mohebbi pretended that conversation never happened and said I absolutely cannot change the frame and I would have to talk to his secretary. I talked to his secretary after my appointment and he said don't worry I will change the frame for you regardless of what Dr. Mohebbi said. I then spoke with my insurance and found out I was OVERCHARGED for my appointment, at which point my insurance called Dr. Mohebbi's office to confirm. I then received a call from the secretary who decided to change his mind and said "Oh actually I can't help you and change the frame anymore because you spoke with your insurance, this is Dr. Mohebbi's order". So because I was overcharged for my appointment and I asked insurance about it, I am being punished and cannot change my frame? Needless to say, I have never experienced such poor service in my life! I work extremely long hours and I certainly do not need a speech from an optometrist about how his time is precious. My time is just as precious and it shouldn't be wasted with 3-4 in-person visits and countless phone calls. At my old eye doctor's office, I saw him once per year and THAT'S ALL IT TOOK! He got it right the first time. Dr. Mohebbi is clearly incapable of the same. read more

I was in dire need of a new eye doctor and after multiple unsuccessful visits, I was lucky enough to come across Plaza Optometry. The office itself was clean and presentable and the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Dr. Elizabeth Cho was very patient and showed interest in my care (which is rare nowadays) and their prices for the services offered are absolutely amazing considering the level of care and professionalism you receive. They did mention that due to COVID our glasses/contacts order may be delayed a bit (which is to be expected during these times); however, when we received our glasses the quality was so superb that it was absolutely worth the wait. I love my optometrist Dr Ali Mohebbi been going for years for my contacts and eye care He had a great practice in Sears ,So when he moved I followed him to his new location the corner of Bristol and MacArthur a block away . He is very good explains procedures and is up on all the new technology and products . He fit me with these new contacts and I love them there new to industry moist multi focal . I tried doing the mono contacts one eye for distance the other for close up but I didn't like .I usually wear my progressive Len glasses but doing sports Hinders . I agree with all the 5 star reviews of Dr. Mohebbi. My kids and I have been going to him for at least 7 years. He is very knowledgeable and truly cares about his patients. He is up to date on the latest eye care and doesn't "push" you into purchasing specific contacts or glasses. He is open on Saturdays too! On my first visit, I was so impressed by him that I asked him to conduct a regular eye exam for my daughter who was with me. My daughter had complained about eye pain, headaches, blurriness about a year prior to this exam. I had taken her to a CHOC Pediatric Opthamologist and he said she had 20/20 vision. Nothing conclusive came out of that visit. I gave no background to Dr. Mohebbi about my daughter. He checked her eyes and asked if she experienced blurriness and headaches while doing homework or reading. Basically she needed reading-type glasses and her eyes were irritated from allergens. Another recent outstanding experience was when his office worked with my insurance company to help cover the cost of multi-focal lenses for me. The contacts were very pricey due to my extreme myopia. Dr. Mohebbi and his office went out of their way to work with my insurance to get some of the expenses covered. Needless to say, I was thrilled. read more

When this practice was run by the now deceased Dr. Mohebbi, it was great. However, it is now run by Dr. Cho who I found to be dishonest in her business dealings. She's nice and personable, but she doesn't have her patients' best interests in mind. She originally did a prism test on me several months ago before I had cataract surgery. The test she used that time was very good and she showed me how much prism lenses could help my double vision. When I came back for a new prescription, she used an eye chart instead of the test she used before. I didn't question it at the time, because I thought my doctor was doing what she was supposed to do. I had the glasses made elsewhere because they have the frames I like. When picking up the glasses, I found that the prism RX was incorrect. After remembering that she used a different prism test than she originally used, I went back to Dr. Cho to have her redo the test with the one she originally gave me. She said she didn't remember having given such a test. It was only a few months ago and probably hasn't done many prism tests in the past few months. Basically, she refused to help me except to refer me to another optometrist who treats children (I'm 67) and doesn't accept insurance. I believe she knew she was in the wrong and purposely changed the facts so she wouldn't have any liability for her error. Dr. Mohebbi would be very upset that his former patient was treated in such a manner. I will never go to Dr. Cho again and suggest that you don't either. read more

I wouldn't give them any stars, but since one is required, unfortunately I had to. TERRIBLE...TERRIBLE...WARNING...this doctor and his office is very unprofessional. My sister went in for a scheduled eye exam. She was seen and given an exam. After the exam she was told what the price would be for contact lens, which was too expensive. Since she didn't buy the contact lens with them they charged her $79 for her prescription. She went home and told me and I told her, "That's illegal, they are not supposed to charge you for a prescription". I called the office back and spoke with the office manager and voiced my concerns he told me to bring her back in and I she will get refunded the $79. We went back in and the doctor was ready to fight. He said, "You got an exam and fitting for contacts". We told, him she was never told what was being done, it was just done. No one ever asked her what she wanted. Keep in mind this is the first time she'd gone to this office. He told us he's wasn't funding her back and we were wrong. He was very argumentative and got in my face, I literally had to take a step back. He further said, "This always happens with Medi-Cal people, you all think you can get things for free, I only get $42 for your visit, and I'm going to cancel Medi-Cal". The doctor then pointed at his office manager and said, "It's his fault" and then pointed at my sister and said, "It's your fault". This doctor was very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful and really got a kick out of arguing with us. My issue is that this probably happens more times than not. People go into his office no one explains what the appointment is for. No one is ever told her what kind of exam she was getting and they never told her what her insurance did not cover. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE...BAD! read more

The people seem nice... unfortunately they dont know how to run a business. I went for a standard eye exam. I explained that I just wanted an eye exam that was covered by my insurance. I made it clear I did not want to spend any money beside that. They basically tried to scam me for 40 dollars by the end of the visit. (Do not let them take "pictures" of the back of your eye) They do it without notifying you that it will cost extra money and tell you at the end when you are leaving. I refused and they let me go without paying after "talking to the doctor". To top it off the prescription was WAY too strong. I went back to have it redone after a week and they said to give it more time. Glasses still make me dizzy and nauseous. Im going somewhere else now for an eye exam rather than beg them to do it again. So after using my once a year insurance there, I will need to spend $50 on an eye exam elsewhere. They also wasted about 2 weeks of my time that I could have been able to see. Never going back here again... I suggest you dont either. read more

I had been struggling with a pair of contacts prior to being examined by Dr. Mohebbi. My former optometrist had kept recommending a model that didn't fit me right and wasn't comfortable. Dr. Mohebbi saved my vision. A year ago my toddler poked me directly in the eye with her sharp fingernail and scratched out a significant portion of my cornea. After several phone calls to surgeons in the area, Dr. Mohebbi was the only one that took me in on short notice. He was incredibly professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He made sure I was comfortable and talked me through his process every step of the way. He provided me with his cell phone number and even called and texted me that evening and the following morning to check on my status. Months later while on a business trip to Miami I got a piece of sand in the same eye and scratched the same cornea all over again! I texted Dr. Mohebbi and he was there for me immediately. Within minutes he had a prescription for an antibiotic faxed to a local pharmacy to make sure the eye didn't get infected. If the eye gets infected it could lead to blindness and Dr. Mohebbi's thorough precaution and responsiveness was responsible for saving my vision. I never met someone that loves what they do, that cares and that is as accessible as much as Dr. Mohebbi. A true professional and a great friend. Highly recommend using him for the most basic of procedures to the most complicated issue. read more

Dr. Mohebbi, doesn't listen to his patients, doesn't inform them that his previous office was only a temporary location after moving out of Lense Crafters at Sears. If I was told this over the phone when I had first called his number to make a consultation, I would have chosen another Doctor. I choose him due to: convenience (on my way home from work and with his late hours 8 pm) and he accept my Eye care Insurance. I have only received 4 pairs of prescription glass in my life time and this was the only pair/Doctor that I had to come back to and have the lenses corrected. Dr. Mohebbi, would NOT admit to the mistake and wants me to pay for the correction to the glass a $90 additional charges. During my last visit at a very empty office, he continued to apologize for things, but he would not correct the glass at his own expense and time. He informed me that I had to go back to what was his temporary location and have that Doctor Office fix the glass. He would NOT handle fixing the glass and absorbing the cost to fix them due to his mistake and issue me computer glasses and NOT reading glasses. Even as computer glasses they did not work either the right eye was too strong. The other doctor office informed me to get the glasses fixed it would cost me $90. Dr. Mohebbi, is poor excuse for Optometrist. I would not recommend him to any one, not even my worst enemy. read more
