Dr. Tran and her staff are the best in town! Even these days working with covid-19 restrictions, she was able to see me as a walk-in, without an appointment. She is so kind and patient, she listened carefully to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The office was clean and everyone was wearing masks, the office is spacious and social distancing wasn't awkward or uncomfortable. CAre was taken after each exam to clean and disinfect before the next person went into the exam room. Dr.Mimi is amazing ! She is very patient, and listens to you. My daughter had the wrong prescription glasses for over two years, and Dr. Mimi decided to dilate her eyes in order to get more precise results. Sure enough my daughter ended up with the right glasses for her! Not to mention the fact that my other two girls are 5 year old twins, and she was so nice and caring with them during their exams! Not only is Dr. Tran the MOST THOROUGH doctor of any kind I have ever visited--Mimi is a warm and caring optometrist who loves life, and most of all--helping others keep their eyes healthy. First Bristol Optometry accepts all types of insurance and very affordable rates! She is very sharp in her examination than any optometrist I had --for sure! Mimi is truly a one of a kind find--referred to me by my cousin, who has been her patient for years. Eye exams are serious. I been going with Dr Mimi Tran to get an eye exam for 5 years now and I love her she's the best eye doctor I have ever known. She's very caring and answers all my questions. I had an eye style that she help me get treated. She does an excellent eye exam and contacts fitting because she takes her time. I have concerns about getting Lasik in the future but she is very honest and she wants me to wait until my eye vision is stable. $99 for the exam and glasses is not a bad deal. They still have Ray-Ban Oakley Versace and now Michael Kors, Tory Burch and Guess. If you can't afford she had a variety of generic brand. Can't go wrong. read more

Last time I spent about $600 for a new pair of glasses about one year ago, so I didn't wanna spend another $600 again. ( and I was stupid enough to buy that from very hipster shop in Abbot Kinney) Thank god I found Dr.Tran. She takes time for eye exam and gives you detailed information for your eye-health. Their location and atmosphere is very Latin community-oriented. Hence all the signs are in Spanish. However, don't let that part change your mind! ( don't think you are not invited if you don't read Spanish ) Dr.Tran gives you superb care and service. They have special for new clients which you can get an eye exam and glasses from $99. I chose a plastic frame so it was $130 + whatever lens upgrade you want. They have so many different kinds of frames, I'm pretty sure you will find the " one " that fits you. Overall, I could get a professionally fitted pair of glasses for under $200, and I'm very happy about that! read more

Dr. Tran is amazing! She is super nice and really knows her stuff. I found out she went to New England School of Optometry since we both had gone to school in Boston. That's actually where my previous eye doctor went to optometry school, which is awesome! She was super thorough and was able to detect a small change in my prescription. You can tell she really cares about her patients. My eyes are pretty stable but they do change slightly every year. My only comment is that she doesn't dilate your pupils, but I hate doing that so I'm glad she doesn't do it for me regularly. At my younger age, with little health risks, I also don't think it's necessary for each and every visit. If you have specific health concerns, you should talk about them with her. I recommend parking in the larger lot to the side of the building, at the corner of N. Western Ave and W. 1st Street. Then you have a short walk over to Dr. Tran's building. I made an appointment for eye exam, even though I was the only one, I had to wait a while. I was sitting on the chair already when the doctor told me the equipment was broken and she has to do the exam in the old fashion way. I was very upset and disappointed because I was expecting my eyes checked with the new equipment. I don't know why this doctor didn't call and inform me about their equipment ' s problem. Should be the patient's decision if we wanted the service or not. I had to pay for the exam like my eyes were check by the new equipment. They have a lot of old style glasses, ugly, and expensive. I took my mom here to get her eyes checked. My mom does not speak a word of English and Dr Tran was able to communicate with her in Spanish which made my mom feel at ease. I have worn eye contacts for the past 8 years and recently started experiencing severe dryness that was becoming bothersome in my day to day life. Went back for my yearly exam. Pretty much in and out. I usually go on week days, so I can't relate to the weekends.Honestly, she needs a "OC best eye doctor award." Pros: - Dr. Tran is AWESOME! - She explains everything very well, and wants you to understand how your eyes work. - Lots of parking spaces, located right next to the building. - Staff is also very nice. Horrible place with horrible staff! Little girl in the front named Vinaey or something told me I am eligible for my free eye exam so I make an appointment, then I come to my schedule appointment and all of a sudden I am not. I waited for 1 week for my eye exam and got there 15min early and she tells me nope it's not covered. So I call my insurance and sure enough they said I'm covered and all she had to do was call them like i told her they wanted her to do. So my insirance wanted to speak to this place and to this girl in the front desk and told her that I am good to go. So after she gets put in her place she says my appointment since I "missed" it, which was her fault, is rescheduled for another week and i did this all just 5 minutes past my appoinment time and others took my spot. Really?!! So its my fault and i get this all taken care of and sorted out fast and easy and only 5 min passed my appointment time and i have to wait again when all she had to do was her job. Wow, because of they're laziness and their unprofessional staff I have to wait to see and drive and basically work for another week. Horrible! Never come here.
