For me, the feather in its cap is the Rodizio Grill, a definite step-up from the other Brazilian carve-of-the-skewer, all-you-can eat restaurants (Tucanos and Braza, I'm talking to you). It's a great "dinner and a movie" shopping center with a Cinemark megaplex right next door to the Rodizio, as well as a Pier 49 Pizza and Firehouse Subs close by. The Meadows is also a good place for the department store lover: Target, Kohls, Gordman's, Michaels, Ulta, HomeGoods, Walmart; Bed, Bath, and Beyond; Best Buy, and Ross. You'll also find an epic "Spirit Halloween" store there in the fall. It's got room to grow. The Applebee's that went under makes me think the locals expect quality ... I'm hoping to se more like Rodizio in the future! They could take a page from a very similar outdoor-type shopping center in Taylorsville and put up a lot more signage to make driving around easier. This setup is pretty common-outdoor store entrances that face the streets, not like the indoor mall of the 80's and 90's. The nice thing here is you can easily navigate to the store you're here for. Or you can park on one end and walk up and down the row and hit many shops along the way. Parking is plentiful-there are stalls in front of all the stores, as well as larger parking areas scattered throughout. Be aware that many of the roads are one way, so watch for that. But I've never had a problem finding a spot, even on the busiest of days. They are also well lit at night, which I appreciate. The variety of stores that you'll find here are also pretty common in these types of places-a few big box stores (Ross, Michael's, Kohl's) as well as a handful of other chain restaurants and shops. Of course, there's the token cell phone stores mixed in with boutiques. I like the charm of it-a little something for everyone, and maybe check off a few errands while you're there too.

For some stores, this means peering inside or walking into the street to see what store it is. The stores are The Commons biggest selling point. There are plenty of restaurants: Mikado, Five Guys, Chipotle, Slapfish, Rumbi, Pei Wei, Paradise, Wild Zucchini Grill, and Firehouse. There's a lot geared toward women: Alta, DSW, Nordstrom Rack, Seasons Boutique, a nail shop, a bridal store, and a Bed, Bath, and Beyond. There's a PGA Golf Store and a Sports Clips for the men to burn time. Overall, a nice place to spend a Saturday afternoon! :)

It doesn't have a lot of curb appeal, although at one time I think it did. The buildings have some charm and character if not a lot of upkeep. What I like about it here is that you won't find the boring run-of-the mill stores that you'll find everywhere else. These are mom and pops, many of them representing a variety of cultures, it's a wonderful melting pot of ethnicities and businesses. Sadly, there's a good amount of turnover in businesses here, but that does add a fun element to see what's new every time you come visit. It would be nice to see a little more maintenance and upkeep to preserve the character here...but then again, we don't want to modernize it too much, do we?

I have seen such a turnover of businesses here, now it reminds me of a ghost town. The parking lot is a mess and needs to be resurfaced and stripped. I've only started coming here because of the food prep company I started using that has a location here in the plaza. It's hard for me to imagine a world where malls are obsolete, but I do fear that we are going that direction as more and more people do their shopping online. That said, the University Place mall may be immune to that simply because it's located smack in the middle of town with so much around it. People will come just out of convenience of location. There are all the stores you'd expect, and a few surprise ones too. It may not feel like there are a lot of people inside, but the parking lot is always crowded. I think this is because there are lots of adjacent or nearby retail places that share the parking, and it can get a little congested.

We didn't stop in or purchase anything in the stores, although we did walk thru Round 1 which was a cool arcade / small bowling venue. Lots of empty stores. . The center elevator was also out of order. So you I'd be nice to see a restaurant in here and eventually attend the Mammoth hockey practice arena to watch them practice.
