The customer service here is horrible. You are in a super long line outside, over 30 minutes, and they are taking phone orders and filling orders while the items are running out. So you have been in line and they run out of items but if you call, they had pull the items and hold them for you. the only reason this place is still in business is because they are substantially less expensive than other places. read more

You simply cannot beat the prices at this place. While every other bakery is getting hit over the head with 2023 inflation this place manages to keep prices at 2003 levels. Your dollar really goes a lot farther here with little to no sacrifice in quality. Plaza takes me back to a time where $10 at a Cuban bakery used to mean you were doing serious damage. I miss those times, but they live on, tucked away in a strip mall off of coral way you'd normally just drive past without giving it a second look. I have been coming to this restaurant since I was 7 at the time of writing this review im 28. A place doesn't stay in business for this long if its not good. You don't see much of a staff rotation and the cashier has been the same for over 5 years which tell me they are taken care of. This is a local secret, the pastries are phenomenal. The Cuban bread is made fresh and and the media noches are out of this world. Last time I was in, they told me that the one doing the cuban bread was the son of the guy who used to make them. So this stays in the family. However l, I see some bad reviews complaining about the wait. The wait is not terrible, you grab a number and wait to be called. Does it get busy? Absolutely. I love this little bakery! Its in the plaza with the Sedanos, Navarro and Subway. (Tucked into the inside corner left of the Navarro) The prices here are below prices for other nearby bakeries and they make superior food here IMO. I always buy a few of the ham and cheese sandwiches (on top of the counter) to share at work. They're $1 for the small ones and $2 for the large ones. They're made on either sweet croissant or some other rolls. Regardless of which one you choose they are yummy, filling and CHEAP! I've tried almost everything here and I love it all. The "fritura de bacalao" (a giant salted cod fritter) is delicious and greasy! The papa rellena (which is ball of mashed potato stuffed with seasoned ground beef and breaded) is huge Nd only like 80¢! I usually walk out with a few boxes full of goods for under $12. I wish they had little signs for all the items in the bakery case so I wouldn't have to ask 1)what is it? and 2) how much is it? It wouldn't be that difficult because they bake the same things every day. Plus it would definitely set them apart from all the other Cuban bakeries in Miami. read more

Some of the best pastelitos in town! Had not visited this location in many, many years...but I popped in while on my way to a meeting nearby and it's just as good as I remembered. As a kid, we used to come here to get Pastelitos before our summer vacations (mid 80's) I still vividly remember summer of 87, skipping first period of junior high to walk here and get breakfast! This review is specific to the pastelitos. The recipe is just as I remembered it. The dough is flaky, buttery and sweet in all the right proportions. Pastelito size is still decent where many bakery's have slashed the sizes to keep them under $1. Queso: what can I say...it was perfect. The body is flaky, yet chewy...the ends are dense and full of flavor and the Queso filling is mild yet with enough salt to compliment the sugar/buttery outside. Guava: same great pastry, with dense guava filling. Best eaten slightly warm at the counter. Service was prompt, and good/attentive. As with every Cuban Bakery...beware of "slick" little old ladies or older guys who pretend to just want "una barra de pan" and proceed to order $20 worth of goods...$1 at a time, then realize they don't have enough...etc. read more

I grew up in Westchester...we would walk to the bakery from elementary and jr high back in the 70 and 80's. Although the original owner and baker have since passed away, the current management has stuck to the amazing recipes I grew up with. Its my first and last stop when i visit Miami. Everything from fresh Cuban bread to ham croquetas to media noche sandwiches and pasteles. Yum all the way around. They will even pack you a box to take on the plane or in your luggage to share when you return home. Go get some!!! read more
