Love an açaí bowl so was excited to try a new place. Service was fast and friendly. I had the Pura Vida bowl and was happy they let me sub honey for peanut butter. Thrilled they opened this Chicago location. We loved our bowls and the service was fast, friendly and efficient. Stuck with the green base as it's the lowest in calories and sugar and enjoyed it thoroughly ( topped with banana, strawberries, granola. chia seeds and honey - yum). Playa Bowls in Bucktown-Wicker Park is my new go-to for smoothie bowls! The beachy, vibrant vibe is a perfect backdrop for their fresh and flavorful menu. I tried the Nutelloco- a coconut based bowl with added peanut butter. It was delicious, but I can't imagine it was THAT healthy. Super fresh ingredients though and just the right portion. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're a smoothie bowl fan or trying one for the first time, this spot is a green light. I'm so excited that playa bowls its now in Chicago! I stopped in bucktown for a sweet treat and found this. There is only one location so far, so it's definitely worth it to try most things in the menu. I had the Nutella bowl half stupid Cupid mix. I will definitely recommend the smoothies as well and they have a big variety of things to choose from. There is a reward program that I been using for years so you can get discounts, free bowls once in a while. Totally worth it read more

I recently went back to Playa Bowls in Bucktown to try their new winter special menu items that really peaked my interest, and I love Playa Bowls, I personally think they have the best acai bowls around. Kicked things of with their Gingerbreaad Bites, a fun festive take on their regulat bites but with some gingerbread spice. I loved the Peppermint Mocha Sweet Cold Brew with a very pronounced flavor of peppermint mixed in with the sweet and rich cold brew. The gingerbread smoothie tasted exactly like a gingerbread cookie as smoothie, not my cup of tea but for the gingerbread lovers, this is for you. Now they have two new acai bowls starting with their Avalance Cocont Bowl having a coconut blend with blue spirulina making it look ice blue, but still fruity and flavorful. The North Pole Acai Bowl was more unique and my speed, it was acai based with bleuberry flax granola, banana, strawberry along with nutella and crushed peppermint. Delicately tart and layered with that delicious peppermint, huge fan of that bowl. read more

Was excited to see this opened in my neighborhood but was definitely disappointed from the minute I walked in. Very unprofessional staff, one employee had their pants hanging half off their a$$, one employee was talking with a customer about smoking weed and one employee was dropping f-bombs left and right and I couldn't understand a word he was saying besides the curse words. I was tempted to leave but decided to order something. I was a little disappointed in the product, very skimpy with the fruit and drizzle but I get it, everyone is cutting back these days and charging more. Last but not least, the fruit flies everywhere are a BIG turn off. I don't see myself returning any time soon. read more
