I ordered an electronic drum set for $2,609.10 in October 2025. The item was never shipped. Over the next several weeks I was told they only ship freight and was given repeated delays and changing explanations. After working with them multiple times to arrange delivery, I finally requested a full refund. The refund was not processed properly. Instead, they issued partial refunds over several months: $1,000 in December $609.10 in December $500 in January After four months, $500 was still missing. I opened a $500 chargeback with my bank, and only then did the final refund suddenly appear. After the chargeback, they began sending legal threats and demanding payment via wire or Zelle instead of working through the normal card processor. Overall: no shipment, months of delays, fragmented refunds, and aggressive payment tactics. I would not recommend doing business here. read more

After Paypal ruled in my favor on the claim that I had been scammed by Playmusic123.com, I wrote a negative review stating all the associated events that had happened. This included fake screenshots from "paypal", a suspected fraudulent money wire using the ID I provided at their request and a fake tracking number to the wrong zipcode. I still have documents to prove all of this. As I stated earlier, they don't scam everyone, but I was, as proven by Paypal's decision in favor of the buyer. They then wasted their time by sending a "cease and desist" letter in response to my review that looks like it was written by a child. Just motivated me to get the word out more. He then told me charges would be reversed; I said "if the payment was rejected, why do you need to reverse the charges" This was like playing tennis, I kept making intelligent arguments, and the return was nonsense. I said I would order another one there, on the spot on the phone.... he said we can't place orders on the phone because of PCI compliance. I am a C level technologist running an enterprise, I know PCI very well. Immediately upon placing my order, I received an email with a discount code for future purchases. I contacted the company immediately, letting them know I had just made a substantial purchase--would they please consider retroactively applying the code? I fully expected an answer of "no," since I assume that the whole idea of the code was to encourage future purchases. To my delight, surprise and happiness of my bank account, they gave me an immediate "yes!" along with a friendly note. However, PlayMusic123 offered a number of new accordions online to choose from, and from my experience in the past, most of these instruments are expensive even used. Having played the instrument before, I was prepared to ask questions of a company I didn't know. Gustavo and his team were able to answer my questions, were knowledgeable, made suggestions and in the end I bought an instrument from them. The price was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but the new instrument, well packed, and its warranty arrived within five days of purchase, no unforeseen costs and with free shipping. The true reflection of a company's service is how they handle problems (i.e. whether they're responsive, accountable, take action, transparent). I purchased a new guitar from Play Music 123 for $3000 on a popular online marketplace. I submitted cancellation of the order, per the terms and conditions of the marketplace. I literally did those two things, purchased and cancelled per the terms and conditions of the marketplace. Play Music 123 messaged me that my cancellation was received after they shipped it; and that, "...our store policy stipulates that cancellations...are not permitted unless such as request is made in advance of shipment...We have initiated the process to return the package to us through UPS." Play Music 123 voluntarily cancelled the order with UPS while in transit, apparently violating their own policy. The shipment was lost. I never received the guitar. Play Music 123 has refused to refund my money; instead stating that I'm liable for the cost of the lost item. They were always quick to reference their terms and conditions, and those of the marketplace, and those of UPS. They were really good at shifting the burden of this lost item onto, well, everyone but themselves. However, I'm not going to overanalyze this situation, or forget what a reasonable response by a seller should be in these circumstances. One other thing, while dealing with this nightmare, which has involved about six weeks of me trying to get a refund, and me driving the process, I found that Play Music 123 imposed a 15% 'restocking' fee for returned new items. If the guitar was actually found/returned, I would have had to pay $450 for them to 'restock' it. I hope my review informs your decision. Thank you for reading. read more

Although Play Music 123 did not solicit a review from me I looked them up on Yelp as I wanted to give them a great review in gratitude for the great customer service and product they provided. I ordered a Mega Tone mouthpiece for my grandson's tuba. I quickly got a tracking number for the order, but after several days with no change in status I contacted customer service to see if they could find out why it was not "moving" in the postal system. Apparently the package was lost. While it wasn't Play Music 123's fault, they were very quick to get a replacement item shipped and I had it in just a few days. The email replies I received from them were very prompt and courteous. I was so grateful that they made this purchase so hassle-free despite a snag with the shipping. I arrived and was held up in the front room while a guy behind a desk to forever to complete a violin purchase. I was under the impression that this was a warehouse that you could just wander about and find the deal of your choice. NO! You will be escorted back in the warehouse to a small section where a bin of damaged instruments are kept in a packed bin. Of course there are other instruments stored in overhead shelves but you are asked specifically what it is you are looking for. I myself looked at some basses that were damaged in transport.
