A beautiful spacious apartment, with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. It easily slept the six of us and we did not feel the least bit over crowded. As there was a group of us the price really was pretty reasonable for the weekend. While family friendly, it could be a bit pricey. The kitchen comes with everything you need from dinner ware to dish soap. There is a large grill on the private porch besides the stove top and oven. Two fireplaces (one is gas and the other you have to light for which they provide all needed materials). There are two flat screen TVs in the main rooms, another in the master bedroom and a small one in the bunk room. The shower in the master bath is huge and there is also a separate large tub. The best part is the large porch that overlooks the beach and Lake Michigan. It wraps around the side around to the back. the view of the lake and Sleeping Bear Dunes is beautiful. The resort also has a gym, outdoor pool and hot tub. Blu, a restaurant I highly recommend, is attached. There is also free wifi (they provide a password). The staff was also amazing, expect to be treated like an honored guest. They take care if anything you might need, even marsh mellows. The only slightly negative thing is that Lebear is a bit off on its own in Glen Arbor. The wineries are about a half hour away which was reasonable. Glen Arbor is small but charming. There are several shops, a couple bars (try Art's Tavern) and a grocery store. The resort is a very short walk from the town.

My only complaint is a minor one, and it's just that the bedroom situation is a little funky. In all three of the units I saw, the master bedroom was perfect, but the two smaller guest rooms left much to be desired. One of the bedrooms has a nice queen bed and bunk beds and the other has a double or queen-sized trundle bed. I would think to put the trundle bed in the room with the bunk beds (making it more of a "kids" room) and leave the nice queen-sized bed in its own room. Coming in from Seattle, we booked this for a wedding we were attending nearby for one of my boyfriend's best friends. Unfortunately, we came down with Covid and immediately tried to get in touch with this hotel to cancel our reservation. Their line rang endlessly and instead of being able to leave a voicemail, the call ended with a continuous busy signal after regular dial tones. I must have called at least 20 times when we were within the 7 day cancellation policy. I eventually got through to their voicemail and left a total of 2-3 voicemails, in which I stated the issue with their line and not being able to get through to a person or leave a VM, at the very least. Those also went unanswered. By the time the crew got back to me, we were conveniently outside the 7 days to cancel for a full refund. I then asked to get in touch with the manager, as no one seemed empathetic, understanding, or helpful in dealing with this already painful situation. I spoke with Cari, the general manager, over text, as she wouldn't call me...She coldly offered me a 50% refund as a best case scenario, ignoring all the steps I took to cancel and get 100% of the reservation back. She then said 100% would only be possible if they filled the room, which didn't seem fair at all. I then asked to speak with the owner. The next day, I received an email from Anna, one of the owners. She also avoided the phone call I requested and blamed meetings...I, too, am in meetings most of the day, but there is always 5 minutes that can be found, especially given all I had gone through up to this point. She also pressured me into cancelling the reservation so they could try to re-rent the room, but I wasn't comfortable potentially losing 50% of this reservation if they didn't rebook it (they had 2 other rooms that were cheaper available so the odds didn't seem good). I gave her full context of what happened up to this point, and she disregarded all of it, referring back to the cancellation policy. I did explain that I would be involving my credit card company to dispute the full charge as well as write an honest review, since we tried cancelling many times within the cancellation policy. Instead of doing the right thing, she stated "Please note, threatening to harm our business with a false review disqualifies you from receiving a full refund regardless of whether it gets booked, so I do not recommend taking that action." Following these communications, I received 2 more calls from the staff "returning my calls" from weeks prior...each time I re-explained what happened and pleaded for them to do the right thing. At this point, we've been fully credited by our credit card company and I'm summarizing what happened to us in detail so you are fully aware with who you are booking with. Rest assured nothing written here is falsified and I'm only highlighting the "customer service" behind this company. I have full receipts of everything, in case anyone from this company tries to say anything to the contrary. As painful as it was to have to cancel this very important trip, the owners of this location did nothing to sympathize with our situation, let alone take ownership for their flawed phone system and their overall lack of organization/customer service, and all over $200 (total reservation was $400). Please don't book with this company, as our friends were very happy booking elsewhere for their stays.

When the owner mentioned it, I was very disappointed, but once we were there, I was so happy with the opportunity. With any B&B, you're staying in the main house, having idle chit chat with other guests, and sometimes hear people in other rooms. The cabin, you have none of this, just perfect tranquility, silence, and isolation. The owners stocked up the fridge for us and we can have breakfast in our own cabin. It was more of a continental breakfast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, etc..., but it was so pleasant. The cabin is located about 500 feet from the main house and several miles from the main road, and about 8 miles from downtown Traverse City. You really get in the woods feeling without being to far from the city and you have a river flowing through your backyard. It is a really nice place and I would gladly stay there again.

Once you realize that, you'll be fine. We stayed in the hemlock cabin. This cabin is close to the road but we knew that so expected traffic noise. Upon arrival, we found a plate of yummy pastries inside for our enjoyment and air conditioning which we didn't expect. The host is very friendly and let us change our reservation date without charge because we had an emergency at home. Very grateful for that! These cabins are nice and it sort of feels like camping. You get a picnic table, a bbq, and fire pit. There's a huge yard with things for kids of all ages to enjoy right by the office. They thankfully sell firewood, which we bought because our gas station wood was wet. The bed was broken down quite a bit and didn't do my back any good, but if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, you'll be fine. Tight bathrooms and no table for your belongings, but it was sufficient. We took a lovely walk to the lake and enjoyed a break from the traffic noise. They have a nice deck with chairs to enjoy along with boats if you want to go out onto the lake to fish or whatever. There are many rules noted inside the cabin about linens, garbage, etc. We've never seen anything like that before. I hope we did everything correctly. We would recommend this place to someone but would suggest a cabin further back in the woods to avoid the road noise.

There kitchen was modern, which was somewhat of a disappointment, but we understand that the market demands some updates. They have some newer cabins on the property, but I sincerely enjoy the rustic ambiance of the cabin we chose. The staff was kind enough to keep the secret, even while my nosey wife tried to figure out what was going to happen and called them before the weekend. The hot tub is a fine size for even four people, and there is a sign up sheet to claim your time slot. More importantly, a small business could have just as easily said "There tub is closed for repairs" just knowing it's not cost effective to operate just for one couple coming in. But it was running, ready and relaxing! Kudo's for their honest business practice! It's also very close to downtown TC so antiquing and downtown browsing it's not too long of a drive away.

We got there after dark, retrieved our room key from the box, as directed, and was really pleased with how clean and comfortable the room was. There were very few guests, given the winter season. The office wasn't open either, but it was fine. It was quiet, and someone replaced towels and k-cups each day, and emptied the trash. The kureig, microwave, and fridge were very helpful. Note - the fridge was not tiny, it was about three feet tall. The tv and WiFi worked great, we both had to work from the room at different times, and had no problem on video calls. It was a quick walk to the BP for snacks, drinks, breakfast sandwiches (yum!), very convenient. There are two great restaurants open year round, joes friendly tavern and empire pizza. We would be very happy to stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

This raises a serious question: If the hotel does not honor Priceline's policies, why is it listed on Priceline? And why does Priceline allow a hotel that ignores its guarantees to remain on the platform? This feels like a failure on both sides and is very misleading to consumers.
