The owner of this insulation business has been doing business for 10 plus years. He was cordial and polite with his responses. Well let me tell you, I am glad I used fast insulation. Him and his team came in early today which was Saturday morning and knocked out the project in 4.5 hours. There workmanship was absolutely awesome and professional. I had them buy the insulation and products to do the job as this is there business and they know what to get and order based on the square footage. They got to my house and from beginning to end they never stopped working. I made them breakfast and brought it to them as they never stopped working and figured they deserved some good energy food to continue the good work ! There price was WAY better then any of the other companies. They took the job and showed up on time and completed the work. My attic was warm and cozy within hours of them leaving. Insulation is the way to go if you don't have it . I am sure my fuel bill will go right down now and my heat will stay in my house and not out . I research and price out anything I have to do to my house. This company truly will do a fantastic job ! I give them 5 stars 100 percent ! Again, all the other companies prices where way higher then any of the others. The bottom line is there work is neat and they come and do a professional job. I had 12 windows installed by American Building Technologies, and this was one of the worst…read morecontractor experiences I have had. The installation crew itself was excellent--hardworking, polite, and professional. My issues were with management, particularly Jose. We agreed on a specific brand and style of windows, including three large living-room windows. When the order arrived, I was told they could no longer do the three large windows, but the price was not reduced. I was told the remaining windows would be installed and the large ones reordered. When the windows came off the truck, I immediately noticed they were not the brand we had agreed to. I contacted Jose and found him dismissive and disrespectful. Because my old windows had already been removed, I was told these windows would be installed and the correct ones ordered later. An inspector was then sent as though the job was complete. Every installed window failed inspection because the required safety glass was not used. The proposed solution was to replace only three windows and apply safety film to others to meet code. I am now left with windows that were not what I agreed to purchase, that failed inspection, and an unresolved dispute over the correct windows and pricing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend American Building Technologies. I am also very disappointed that Mass Save refers homeowners to this company.

Carbonneau did two insulation projects in my house this year. A large one, involving attic insulation (cellulose, lifting of platform) and insulating a large unused/unheated room in the second floor. Both were done so diligently and cleanly, that I immediately texted Mike Carbonneau to thank him for his and his team's professionalism. Also, the team was friendly, and it seems they all get along very well and work hand-in-hand. The second job was done yesterday: insulating two crawl spaces through which the house was loosing quite some energy. These spaces were tricky due to its small size and complex geometry. It probably took the team longer to do than they had anticipated. Nonetheless, they continued to the end at the quality that they had delivered in the first project. Not rushing through things, great care! I love it when I feel I'm in hands of people who put the same care as if it was their own house !

They are professional and the appointment was scheduled promptly. There are few thing which might be done better: 1) Putting clapboards back could be done more accurately without hammering nails with the giant force (one of our Harvey vinyl window frames cracked) 2) Caulking: some walls were caulked well, some required me to do additional caulking. Probably, because of different experience of the team members caulking different walls. I would not even mention caulking in summer time since I would be able to patch/repaint the walls promptly. Summary: it took me an hour to go around and caulk if required. 3) Clean up: I have blown out a couple of dozen of old and new nails from our driveway.

We chose Green Cocoon based on their detailed proposal and the thorough conversations we had before…read moresigning the contract. Unfortunately, once the contract was signed, the organization and communication we initially experienced disappeared. Scheduling became incredibly difficult, with calls and emails going unanswered. On two occasions the crew simply didn't show up on the days we had confirmed. We rearranged work schedules to be home for these appointments, yet no apologies or explanations were offered beyond "we mixed up the dates." The first phase of the project, coordinated with our roofing company, was especially frustrating. The insulation crew arrived without any understanding of the plan and without the equipment they needed, forcing them to leave and return later. This delayed our roofers and put us in an uncomfortable position having to explain the situation. Scheduling the second half of the job was equally challenging. When the crew finally arrived, they again seemed unaware of what was supposed to be done, and ultimately did not complete all the work outlined in our contract. This required scheduling a third visit, during which the team showed up without proper tools and had to borrow ours in order to finish removing old insulation. We requested a specialist afterward to confirm that everything had finally been completed, but this amounted only to a brief walkthrough and quick scan of the areas. While the insulation work itself appears to have been done well, the management and scheduling process was exceptionally poor. We shared all of these concerns with the only contact we were able to reach, yet received no real acknowledgment or resolution. Unless Green Cocoon makes significant improvements to their scheduling and internal communication, I cannot recommend them. I genuinely hope the end result of the work holds up over time, but the experience getting there was unnecessarily stressful.

I have had some crummy luck with contractors lately, but this time I truly lucked out. These people…read morelove their craft, respect their craft, and take pride in their craft, which shows in all their work. When Bob came out to my house to see what we need to do for MassSave insulation project, he quickly discovered my attic was unholy dump of multiple generation of insulation piled on top of each other (try 50 years worth of insulation) mixed in with carcasses of dead squirrels, trash from roofers, vermin excrement etc. He was adamant that needed to be removed before any sealing and insulation work is done. At first I wasn't sure about that, but boy am I glad I listened to him and had it cleaned out. Crew of several guys labored for a whole day taking that garbage out. They may have been singing there in the attic, but I know that was masking the curses they may have had going through their heads as they were taking out likely 100+ bags of garbage. When the clean-up was done, I discovered rat nest of wiring with some of it chewed up. So Bob basically save my house from catching fire. And that was just the start of the job. Couple months later (took a while to get MassSave to clear me on HVAC problems I had) crew came in to do insulation on my knee walls (which are finally usable now), re-do the attic, and do sealing around the house. Not sure how the heck they were able to do that, but I also asked them to redo my crawlspace, which they manage to squeeze into the two days they were at my house. Unbelievable! Amanda and Tiffany (two sisters who run the company) are as exceptional. Amanda was flying through the paperwork, getting all the details ironed out, dealing with bureaucrats. Tiffany came to make sure everything was running smooth at my house, which actually wasn't truly necessary, because the crew is very autonomous, they make the decisions what to do to hit the deadlines and finish the job properly. There is not cranky foreman watching them and it shows. Result: my boiler is running 50% less and house feels so much warmer. I can turn off the system in the middle of the day and 2nd floor only drops two degrees in the whole day. That used to happen in 1-2 hours. I have several other insulation projects planned and Dolphin crew will be ones doing them for sure.

The first day the foreman did not get the correct work order and only inistalled the permiter seal without removing all insulation (and was rude when I asked why the removal did not take place). The work was the lowest quality I have ever experienced and took 3 - yes 3 - return trips (after my complaints) to finish the job to a reasonable standard. When they did remove the old insulation, they left pices over the floor and one section in the ceiling- no execuse for this. I recommend using a diff vendor as this group was equal parts rude and incompetent.

Mike's knowledgeable and efficient crew exceeded my expectations! They were extremely competent; they work together like a well-oiled machine. They were patient, and answered all of my questions and concerns, they are very knowledgeable. Their meticulous attention to detail really impressed me! I observed them carefully cutting insulation bats, and just as carefully placing them into the soffit vent areas to get the maximum energy savings without blocking the vents. They didn't just stuff them into place; they took the time to do the job correctly! They also identified problem areas, then recommended and installed solutions. For instance, they noticed my bathroom vents vented into the soffits. From their experience, they have noticed that over time this moisture rots the framing near the soffit, and can become moldy... They recommended and installed roof vents and insulated ducts for my bathroom fans, the way it should have been done when my home was built... I don't think you will find a better team to air seal and insulate you home!
