Very expensive project (20g plus!) should be done well! It's been about 1.5 years since they installed two hvac systems. They are still trying to fix the systems and make then work correct. Every time thy are here they damage our walls. The system is still open and unfinished. They have rerouted things and replaced parts galore but it still is terrible. 2/111/19 update I'm happy to post an update. It's taken YEARS to have the system mostly working. Alewife has returned numerous times to try and fix things. 20% of the issues were related to the insulating problem, but that doesn't change the fact that the humidifier was installed incorrectly and had to be uninstalled. (that $1000 piece of equipment is sitting on our basement floor, useless). We removed ALL THE INSULATION and opened up the whole space AGAIN so that alewife could "fix" it all again. Yes the company will return to fix things, but why do we have so many problems with the system all along? Nobody is accepting responsibility for their poor installations.

I must say that I was impressed with the designer with whom they work, Anna Orfanides. I told her what style I was looking for, and Anna knocked it out of the park. While it was merely a galley kitchen in a Brookline condo, Anna envisioned a design that made it much more functional, timeless, and chic. Hilary Farr would be impressed. Ryaan and team are highly detail oriented. There was one incident where there was a problem with some of the lighting materials. While some contractors would have taken a shortcut and simply have installed the lighting as is, Ryaan and his electrician Chris, who was a perfectionist, made sure that the vendor was held accountable, and they refused to install the product until the issue was resolved with the manufacturer. It should also be noted that Ryaan and team are in constant communication from the project inception until the very end. Kristina, the project manager, is unbelievably responsive. You really can get in touch with her around the clock. The workmanship is impeccable, and it's the first project I've done with a nonexistent punch list. Ryaan took care of small details before I even mentioned them. Finally, I want to add that they are just nice people. I really do think animals are the best judges of character. My dog is a Lhasa Apso, and there are some people he just doesn't like. I was worried that there would be lots of barking and growling throughout the project. However, that was not the case. My dog took a liking to the project team from the beginning. There was no barking and growling. If he can trust them, so can I. It was a wonderful experience, and they really have earned five stars. He got back to messages quickly and if there was a delay in beginning the next phase of the project, he let us know why. They then tried to sell me a heater boiler, hot water heater, and all new plumbing for the rest of the house. Seemed excessive, so I called Chase. They came, took a look at the shower faucet, replaced the valve in about an hour without cutting a single hole in anything, and charged a fraction of the previous estimate. They are professionals, so their labor is not cheap, but they do excellent work and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need.
