The quote appeared reasonable and due to the Covid-19 pandemic outside work was the company's preference. To our surprise work started two weeks earlier than originally stated. The existing deck was removed in one day and trucked away. Some structural damage to the area beneath the original ledger board was identified and approval was given for the additional work. Structural repairs and construction of the new deck progressed smoothly over the course of two weeks. The crew was professional and a pleasure to have in our backyard during construction. We are very pleased with our new deck (including a complimentary addition of a bird house on the top of a deck post).

After putting off house maintenance and repairs, I thought I'd get an early start this year, and in…read morethe beginning days of April, I got to work. We were planning on refinancing to take advantage of rates that were still low, and I thought that if I worked hard enough, I'd have it all in the bag in a matter of a few weeks. The problem is I kept uncovering new issues. After a couple of weeks I felt a growing sense of being overwhelmed. So finally near the beginning of May, I called Team Handyman. Tom came out and assessed the situation. I could tell that he knew what he was doing. A couple of days later came a very detailed estimate broken down by task. I picked the most pressing issues to address, and after relaying this to Team Handyman, they gave us a start time of the beginning of the following week. The following Monday, at 8:00 am sharp, Scott pulled in with his truck, and I have to say I've never met anyone more friendly or enthusiastic. His first words to me after rolling out from behind the wheel were a boisterous "Good morning, sir!" - with a hearty fist bump. This was no perfunctory salutation, this was genuine. Of course it would be all for naught, if not for the quality of his work - which was exemplary. And he was quick too ... and very focused. Yet any time I cared to check to see how things were proceeding, he stopped and gave me a detailed overview of how he was attacking the problem areas. It's great when it's so obvious how much someone loves his work. His most impressive accomplishment - at least in my case - was the replacement of rotted sill along one of the garage walls. Splashing water over the years had really made a mess of things, and this was one of the most dismaying discoveries I had made after doing some digging. But Scott managed to clear out the rotted sill, jack up the garage just enough to replace it section by section and then replace the lower foot or so of the outer paneling using PVC board. It came out beautifully - wish I could post a picture. Within three days everything we had requested to be done - was. And it was under the quote. Scott came by on day 4 (Thursday) for a couple of hours just to make some last finishing touches. We soon after passed a VA appraisal with flying colors. Thanks, Team Handyman!

t is my honor and pleasure to highly recommend Collins Custom Exteriors for your home repairs…read more There couldn't be a kinder, more honest, or better team to hire for the job! Rorrie responded immediately to my call after high winds caused extensive roof damage to my home. The insurance company recommended that I hire a contractor to make emergency repairs to prevent further damage until roof could be replaced after winter season. Knowing the imminent threat of more severe weather, CCE came out only days later to complete the temporary repairs. This gave me peace and reassurance given the situation. Such outstanding professionalism , compassion, and care was demonstrated... these emergency repairs were made on Christmas Eve! Thank you, Rorrie and team for not only coming to the rescue and being a top-notch roofer but for being a truly amazing person and someone you can trust. Best to you

We had several other contractors who told us wehad to replace the entire side of the house, even though it appeared the damagewas in one specific area. Rorrie said they could fix it without having to rip everythingout. We had a few calls before the work was done where he explained everything in greatdetail (and with great patience). The work itself is complete, and the siding looks great. Theypulled back the areas that needed work, replaced the plywood that was rotted, and even helped buttress some of the framing. They then covered everything backup and repainted. At the end, they also walked around the house to point outany potential things to watch out for or that need attention. I definitely plan to use them again to fix any future siding issues that come up! Great work at a very good price! Highly recommend!

He went on to be very rude and swearing telling me to leave him alone that he was not coming to look at the gutter and stop texting him. Please. It was after that when I noticed a few of my leaf guards were missing from a gutter in a location visible from a room not often visited. I made several calls to ask them back to replace the missing guards (with new ones I purchased) and ensure leaf guards weren't missing from other locations, one of which is the very high back gutter unreachable by me. I devided to borrow a friend's 32' ladder and do it myself after having received no response from the owner as requested on my third call. I found dozens of roofing nails on a newer section of roof that is part of an addition where shingles were not being replaced. I collected this cache of nails (in photo) which could be added to the tally of nails collected around the property post-install. This could explain the flat tire every driver of the three vehicles in the home experienced along with the flat tire on the riding mower! I was happy with the roofing job initially, but next to no satisfaction thereafter. If you hire them, inspect post-job well for damage and clean up before making your final payment to make sure they're not sloppy as they were at our home! I would expect the same poor, unresponsiveness otherwise.
