We recently stopped into Little Pub in Branford and enjoyed an overall solid meal with a few…read morestandout items, though not without a couple of drawbacks. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic pub atmosphere that makes it a comfortable place to settle in, whether you are grabbing drinks or sitting down for a full meal. The menu leans into creative comfort food, offering elevated versions of classic pub staples. We started with the nachos, which came piled high with melted cheddar jack, chili, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and other classic toppings. They were flavorful and satisfying, with a good balance of cheese and heat, and they made for a strong opening to the meal. That said, the price felt a bit steep for an appetizer, especially compared to similar local pub spots. For what you pay, you expect either a larger portion or something that really stands out. The New England clam chowder had a rich, creamy base with tender potatoes and good seasoning, delivering that comforting, traditional flavor you hope for. However, it could have used more clams. While the broth itself was enjoyable, the clam presence was lighter than expected, and for a seafood forward soup at that price point, a more generous portion of clams would have made a noticeable difference. The meatloaf grilled cheese sandwich was one of the more memorable dishes. Thick cut toast held together hearty slices of meatloaf, melted cheddar, bacon, BBQ sauce, frizzled onions, and buttermilk ranch. It was rich, indulgent, and packed with flavor, a fun twist on classic comfort food. It is definitely not a light option, but if you are in the mood for something bold and filling, it delivers. We also ordered the Ventura Highway burger, topped with smoked bacon, gorgonzola, and guacamole over a juicy Angus patty. The combination of smoky, creamy, and tangy flavors worked well together, and the burger itself was cooked properly. Still, like the other items, the price felt high for a burger, especially when appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, and burgers all sit at the upper end of the local pub pricing spectrum. Overall, Little Pub offers creative, well executed comfort food in a welcoming setting. The flavors are there, and the menu has personality. The main critiques are value based, the chowder could use more clams, and the pricing across much of the menu feels elevated for what you receive. It is a good spot for a casual night out, just be prepared to pay a bit of a premium for the experience.

I started with the french onion soup, which I thought was a bit small for $9, but it was tasty and hit the spot on a cold winters night. My husband ordered the BLT sandwich with fries. For my meal, I ordered the thanksgiving turkey wrap with sweet potato fries, which came piping hot. We both enjoyed our sandwiches and fries. You would never know this location was once a chinese food restaurant. The decor was rustic and pub like, giving a very cozy feel. This location is close to home for us, so I definitely see us returning again very soon!

We had a reservation for a large group for brunch on Sunday. Everything was fabulous- from the mimosas to our waitress and to the food! Waffles are made to order, the fried chicken wings were perfectly crispy and tender, the little sausages/kielbasa were nice and crispy and the desserts were to die for. Eggs are also made to order as you like. All for $29 which was a steal in my opinion. The ambiance is so fun- definitely the Halloween/vampire vibe. I left after 2.5 hours but my friends stayed longer. Will be returning with my family for sure!

I've been there 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I always had a great experience each time.. Such a comfortable setting for women that just want to have a glass of wine & a meal to relax. Caveat: It can be very busy during peak golf times especially during sunny days, but the service has been EXCELLENT! I'm a local resident & signed up for golf lessons too. I'm very much looking forward to going back time & time again throughout the months & years. The chef / owner is so nice & treats everyone with respect. Quesadillas are going to be available next week. I'm sure delicious too.

"…read more Valentine's Day with my favorite guy (my son ) started at IKEA and somehow turned into a full-on gozadera at Prime BGR in New Haven -- completely on a whim. We walked in with no reservation on Valentine's Day (bold), and the manager couldn't have been more welcoming. Super friendly, got us seated quickly, and set the tone right away. That kind of hospitality matters. The vibe? Cool, modern, slightly moody -- perfect accidental Valentine's dinner energy. The service was on point all night. Attentive, smooth, and genuinely warm. Now let's talk about the moment that activated my Dominican DNA. I ordered the Sweet Plantains with Cilantro Aioli as an appetizer and when I saw plátanos on that menu? República Dominicana presente. . I felt seen. For my main, I had the Temple Salad and added a burger patty (because balance is important ). Fresh, flavorful, satisfying. My son ordered a burger with truffle fries and I am STILL thinking about those fries today. Crispy. Perfect salt. That truffle flavor hit just right. Those fries deserve their own review. And because it was Valentine's Day and I believe in celebrating myself too, I had the Pineapple Express. Divine. Tropical. Smooth. The kind of drink that keeps the gozadera going. From IKEA chaos to Prime BGR glow-up in under an hour. Great food. Great vibe. Great service. New Haven confirmed it. A lot of families were there. We already knew what we wanted to order: the Fajita dinner for two and an order of bottomless chips and salsa with two sodas. The chips and salsa arrived with the drinks pretty quickly. Our waitress was very polite. The fajitas for two you had a choice of four proteins with three choices of protein chicken steak and shrimp. We ordered double order of shrimp and both chicken and steak. It also came with four flour tortillas each a side of rice and beans topped with some pico de gallo also toppings of pico de gallo sour cream and shredded cheese for your tortillas. We ordered several refills of chips and salsa while waiting for our meal to arrive. I asked for the chips without added salt and it was no problem. We both made our first fajitas with the shrimp the shrimp was very tasty and not over seasoned. Then we tried the steak which I was skeptical about being tender. I was wrong. It was deliciously tender and seasoned well. The chicken was also well seasoned and tender. The sodas were also unlimited which was nice. Several servers stopped by asking how everything was and vet willing to bring another drink and napkins. You pay at the table on a small tablet which a server helped us to log in as I have their app and I was surprised to find after putting in my number I had a free chips and salsa! So nice. And the price was $39.99 for the dinner the bottomless chips were actually free but normally $7.29 so our total was around $49 and you can add a tip but my son actually likes giving the server cash. I would definitely recommend the dinner for two and will return
