We especially enjoy trying the new monthly margarita flavors they're always fun and something to look forward to. That said, the experience can be a bit inconsistent. My son took me to dinner for Mother's Day. We arrived around 5:40 PM and had to wait for a table. We were told 15-20 minute wait. It was probably 25 minutes but they were very busy. A lot of families were there. We already knew what we wanted to order: the Fajita dinner for two and an order of bottomless chips and salsa with two sodas. The chips and salsa arrived with the drinks pretty quickly. Our waitress was very polite. The fajitas for two you had a choice of four proteins with three choices of protein chicken steak and shrimp. We ordered double order of shrimp and both chicken and steak. It also came with four flour tortillas each a side of rice and beans topped with some pico de gallo also toppings of pico de gallo sour cream and shredded cheese for your tortillas. We ordered several refills of chips and salsa while waiting for our meal to arrive. I asked for the chips without added salt and it was no problem. We both made our first fajitas with the shrimp the shrimp was very tasty and not over seasoned. Then we tried the steak which I was skeptical about being tender. I was wrong. It was deliciously tender and seasoned well. The chicken was also well seasoned and tender. The sodas were also unlimited which was nice. Several servers stopped by asking how everything was and vet willing to bring another drink and napkins. You pay at the table on a small tablet which a server helped us to log in as I have their app and I was surprised to find after putting in my number I had a free chips and salsa! So nice. And the price was $39.99 for the dinner the bottomless chips were actually free but normally $7.29 so our total was around $49 and you can add a tip but my son actually likes giving the server cash. Raven was such a great waitress! She was pleasant & took care of our table. I came here w/ my mom & nephew after a Paranormal Cirque 3 show in the Clinton Outlets. Food was delish but my plate needed a bigger portion. I ordered a 3 for $16.99. I ordered a coke,garden salad,& the cilantro- lime carne asada(seared steak topped w/ a drizzle of cilantro-pesto, minus the lime and pico de gallo. Served w/ flour tortillas, Mexican rice & black beans). My steak was medium well & not overcooked. My mom ordered 3 for $13.99. It was a classic margarita,potato soup,& an old-timer w/ cheese(basically a cheeseburger) w/ fries.My nephew also ordered a 3 for $13.99. Five of us dined here a few days ago & we all enjoyed our food. The service was great & friendly.

I've always been a fan of the Chili's menu and this spot never disappoints. It's always consistently good food with great service to follow both dining in and take out. The staff are good people who despite the busyness of the environment always manage to keep a positive attitude and check in consistently for refills and ensuring we are all good. As mentioned before the inside tends to get busy towards the evening after 5pm, but it's a spacious interior with both a large dining room section and a decent sized bar area. The only reason I can't list my review as a 5-star is because I tend to support small local businesses more so than big franchises BUT if you're going to have Chili's this spot in East Haven is fantastic! read more

First timings first, Chili's is definitely one of the better fast casual chain restaurants out there, which was made obvious by how busy it was this past Monday night when the restaurant was packed with people. The atmosphere is very chill and cozy but can be cramped at times when there's a lot of customers. The service was average, nothing spectacular or notable. Our server did look a bit overburdened at times which impacted wait times, but she was thorough in getting our order down. The food came out in an average amount of time, so it wasn't too bad. The food was OK for the most part, above average (7/10) but the prices were somewhat higher than I had remembered a few years ago. Me and my boyfriend came to chilis in New Haven and only ordered triple dippers. An appetizer that came 40 minutes later after already waiting to be seated for over 30 minutes. We get the food and my boyfriend says his is burnt almost hard and mine was pink and bleeding. It's unacceptable and my waitress only made an excuse as to why they were cooked different, being "they must've put them on at different times". Went to this chilis after an active afternoon at the beach with my 3 friends. Food was fine, no complaints, however, when it got to the payment, that's when things got out of control. I'll take the blame for messing up splitting the check by items, yet still for each time that I messed up, our server was not helpful and it took copious amounts of minutes to fix the check. After a while, I simply asked her to split the check for us since we noticed an additional charge of certain items and my free chips and salsa was indeed not free. With things allegedly all set, I went to pay and I saw the bill was much larger than expected so I assumed it was for the whole table. It was not. I was over charged around $24 and even when I asked for a refund, they only refunded $13. At this point, I was so sick and frustrated that I decided $11 wasn't even worth it. By far, the worst Chili's experience I've ever had. The food, when it finally arrived, was hot and tasty which is the only reason I even give 2 stars. The service was cold and incredibly slow. We were not greeted until we had been seated for about 15 minutes. The whole place seemed to be in chaos -- wrong orders arriving to tables, not single smile on a single employee's face. Ordered a Santa Fe Salad to-go today, but with no chicken. I would assume no chicken at least there would be a price decrease or if not perhaps some more lettuce! Haven't been to chilis in a long while. Kid wanted appetizers and suggested our local chilis. It was pretty busy when we arrived. Took a while for hostess to greet us, she was busting tables I think. She walked us to out table and all I could see was a filthy floor, definitely was not swept in a while. The wait staff was friendly and quick to ask us for our drink order. I was good and just ordered a soda, thought about getting their tropical sunrise margarita- it is very good. We ordered the skillet queso, triple dipper and Texas cheese fries, food was good. I ordered the six piece combo. This is what I received chicken fingers and salty french fries. Very disappointed after calling the manager on duty who was talking over me and basically saying it's out of her control because that's what cooperate sends to them. It is very unprofessional and should be ashamed to feel like this is okay. It appears to me that they're splitting the chicken tenderlions in half to save money. Better off removing this item from your menu if you can't accommodate the consumers. Never again will I order from them!! Shame on the cooperate office as well to think that's okay. We stopped in for dinner on a Monday night. We stood in the doorway for quit a while, watching servers walk past us, ignoring us. Finally 1 server did acknowledge us and find the host. We basically sat ourselves in the bar area. We waited a while to be served. By the time the bartender, Samantha, came over to help us, we already knew our order. We attempted to try their new fried mozzarella, but they ran out. We got the new loaded white queso curly fries instead. These came out of the kitchen after our salads. The curly fries were good, but a bit too salty. The white queso was a bit too much. And there were and overload of jalapeños on top. These would be better as just loaded curly fries...the white queso was excessive. My husband ordered shrimp fajitas. No complaints from him! I ordered the Chicken bacon ranch quesadillas, which were as expected. Seeing I had a free dessert for my birthday, I finished up with a molton lava cake. The chocolate shell its usually topped with was almost non existent. But the lava never disappoints! It was very delicious. While Samantha, our server, had a pleasant personality, she wasn't very attentive. Usually a bartender, who is also serving tables, has a lot going on, it wasn't busy at the bar. There were 2 people at the bar. She was mostly distracted by an off duty employee who was also sitting at the bar, talking to her. It was a but frustrating. I don't do chain restaurants. Ever. Ever. But it was $3.13 for margaritas on March 13th and it was my friend's birthday so he wanted to go. To say it was packed would be an understand. Versus waiting for a booth, we grabbed two seats at the bar. Our bartender, who has been there since they opened has to be by far one of the nicest, kind & fun people I've ever met. I was even more shocked when he said he was a cop for many years. Wish they were all like him. I digress but I don't drink hard liquor so I just had a glass of white wine & guac with chips. The guac was absolutely disgusting that one bite was more than enough for me. This was my 2nd time at this Chili's location and the experience was worse than the 1st, however, I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt. We went yesterday which was a Tuesday around 6 PM. The staff, specially our waitress was so unprofessional. There was a couple sitting in front of us, I saw the wife tip our waitress in cash. After the couple leaves, she says to another female staff member standing right NEXT to us "She tipped me $3 like it was something, this wasn't nothing" we automatically cringed! A few minutes later, our waitress comes to clean the couples table while complaining about management, being very loud and vocal while speaking to another colleague. " They won't give me hours, only work 3 shifts every week and wanna call me to fill when people call out, no I'm not doing it!". We were over it at this point. My friend requested I not tip, however it would not be fair to the rest of the staff. I did leave a tip. The FOOD was not good. My cheeseburger sliders were cold, cheese wasn't even melted. I'm writing this to talk about the best customer service i e er received from the front of the house manager Kristen. Long story short I ordered doordash and the guy picked it up and didn't co firm he did and stole it. I just moved and have no food plus the worst couple days. I was told by doordash that the original order had to be cancelled and reordered. By that time I ordered and it was too close to closing so I was getting nothing haven't eaten all day. Kristen who is so kind new of what happened and cooked my food but I had to come get it which I understood. It wasn't chili's fault what happened but doordash. She went over and above to check with me to make sure what I originally ordered was what I could get. I wasn't charged and they waited for me bc it was a few minutes after closing. Kristen in no way had to do what she did is what tells me why she is manager. A very caring person with great I mean great customer service. Plus she is super nice and humble. She really made a horrible fight laughable as we were both joking y the time I left. I never write reviews but it's people like her that deserve praise by the bosses. She In no way was respo sible but bc she is cari g frlt for me and wanted to make sure i got what i intended to in the first place. Kristen is a one in a million who goes out of her way for people she doesnt know bc thats the type of great person she is. If there were more Kristens in charge stores and restaurants would nevet have complaints. I don't know what I was thinking when i grabbed lunch with a friend at Chilis . This national chain has been crumbling from the start. Overcooked crusty burgers, barely warm fries and a smell that I can't get out of my system. The salsa was clearly right out of a #10 can and couldn't have been any worse.
