This wasn't our first choice but scheduling conflicts for a Saturday move or Friday move brought us back to Platinum moving . In the end I am glad we went with this company. From the very start it was easy to book, they arrived on time and knocked out a big one bedroom apt on the 2nd floor in hours. The crew Robert , Richard and Jose were an a nice group of guys , easy to talk to and did everything that was asked of them . There was a few extra charges ; the TV packaging , few extra boxes (we didn't pack everything like we should have) The unloading was even faster ; they placed everything where we wanted and even rebuilt the bed frame . Biggest issue was that they didnt wear their masks every single second , but its understandable its a hard job and we kept our masks on and stayed outside most of the time and kept distanced. I have nothing good to say, but read up on this will save you at least $10K. This so-called "Platinum Movers" is a bunch of inexperienced, unprofessional liars who don't know anything about moving. They literally hire people on the spot and bring them to your place to help you move. If you talk to the company owner, Ryan, he will tell you that he higher his guys, trains them himself, and has years of experience. He's a great salesperson and will make you believe they know what they're doing. Well, that's not true! I have high-end furniture, and I decided to hire "professional" movers instead of free-lance movers to ensure my furniture and appliances did not get damaged. I hired three men from the company to come and move my furniture within the same city, taking less than 9 minutes. I had moved everything myself, leaving the furniture and appliances. I disassemble all furniture ahead of time and ask them to wrap the furniture up and move it from A to B location. It took them about 10 hours to move from a 2-bedroom apartment with an elevator into a house with a driveway. One of them was the alpha, their boss, a total jerk to his other two workers when the three guys arrived. One of the guy's names was Leo, and the others I don't remember, but he was a very young skinny guy. Well, it was their first gig, so his boss was teaching them in my house how to wrap the furniture in moving blankets and tape properly. And then he would have them undo it and rewrap. A couple of times, the guys would drop the furniture, and he would laugh. He also would force the other two men to carry heave furniture, and he would stand and watch, making snarky comments. I hired three movers, and only two were working. It took them 6 hours to wrap my furniture in blankets; some might think, oh wow, that's amazing; that means there was no scratched but think again. I'll list and post all the dents and scratches from the move. The agreement was that I would pay $115 per hour in cash for the three employees. After they finished wrapping, it was time to load the truck, which took them about 2 hours. The truck left the apartment, and I locked up the house and did a final walk of the apartment. I got in the car and drove to the new location, which took me less than 8 minutes, and the truck was not at the new site. I waited 30 minutes and kept calling. They finally picked up and said they were right around the corner. It took them another 20 minutes to arrive. So they charged me for the full hour for an 8-minute drive in the SAME CITY. When bringing the furniture in, they kept on banging it on the walls and scratched up the walls and the furniture. The skinny guy dropped my refrigerator in the kitchen. In 1 hour, they quickly dumped all the furniture inside the house and gathered their stuff, and left. I paid $1200 for the move. Now let's talk about how much damages they cost me? I had a 4 French door Samsung refrigerator, and when the guy dropped the fridge, it caused damage to the compressor, and the freon in the refrigerator leaked, which is totally toxic. The fridge stopped working, so I had to call Samsung, and they came out and charged me over $500 for different diagnostics. Then, they informed me that it was damaged entirely and had to be replaced. The four french door fridge cost is $3400 with delivery and taxes; I paid around $3800. They also damage my bed frame, $2700, the nightstand $650, the dining room buffet $750, broke my Bowflex TredClimber $1200, and damaged the coffee table $1100. They also put major dents and scratched on the washer and dryer, scratched up the dining table, and the sofas' corners. They scratched up, dented, and damaged 95% of the furniture in my house. So, do yourself a HUGE favor, hire a couple of guys, call up your friends, and order some pizza. Trust me; it will cost you way less of a headache than hiring this company who clearly does not care about their clients and only puts a dent in their clients' furniture, appliances, and wallets. read more

Sure, the booking the move was seamless and the movers were friendly but the actual move did not meet my expectations. Even though I booked weeks in advance and was confirmed for an early start - the movers still arrived right at the end of the appointment window. This of course threw off the entire move (the parking was no longer available, moving elevator not available, and there was additional traffic) and of course I was charged much more than the quote for what was an extremely SIMPLE move. To make matters worse, customers have to pay before the completion of the move based on "their estimate". I won't even share my thoughts on this but trust me, it's not positive. Bottom line - if you have a small move (studio), get a U-haul and just do it yourself. Save yourself some cash and anxiety. read more

They did show up till 5pm (said they would be there at 8am) on the day I had to move and then when they did show up they said they were too tired from their first job and couldn't move me. After already taking my deposit and everything. I'm a single mom, would had paid for childcare and prorated rent to move that day. Me and the kids ended up sleeping on the floor, until I could hire new people to go over and get our stuff. It was horrible and stressful I would definitely suggest going with a different company 100% I felt bad because I told a friend I was using them and she booked for the following weekend. I called the office and spoke to Tina, informing her almost a month in advance of when we needed our belongings. Probably 50 phone calls and voicemails later, and still no response. My partner and I had to PHYSICALLY show up to the office and request to speak with somebody and, even then, we were turned away with no information. What an absolute bummer. I thought we had finally found a reliable company. Do not have your belongings stored with these people unless you want to be left wondering if you'll ever get it back. These guys absolutely killed it. We moved from a 2 bed condo to a 3 bed house and we did our best to pack everything but some boxes more haphazardly than others. Doug and his crew were punctual, pleasant and energetic, tackling our furniture like it was their job (funny thing is that it is their job and they are great at it). Once we got to the new place, we found that our hallways were narrow and our door was just the tiniest bit too small for the couch. Did that stop them? No. They shifted, they pivoted, they got it all in exactly where we wanted and reassembled the furniture that needed it. The price was more than reasonable for the job and we gave a nice tip and lunch. While I never want to move again, if I did, I'd call platinum to help. read more

Run, run far away! Moving is stressful enough on it's own; packing, unpacking, disconnecting services, remembering to get your WiFi turned on. One would hope that the company you entrust, and pay, to transport your entire life from one home to another would try and help make the process go as smoothly as possible. They treated my appliances with such care and they dont waste anytime. Very professional moving company that handled items with care, however there were HIDDEN FEES that I was not told about. The quote I got specifically said that there were no hidden fees. Firstly, my appointment was for 10:30-11 arrival, but they called me at 9am and said they were arriving at 9:30am. My wife and I were not ready and therefore the job took longer since there were still things unpacked. The main disturbance was that they charged an extra $100 per big glass item. I had a 63" TV and a dresser that has a big mirror, so I had to pay an EXTRA $200 which I was not told about at all and had no other choice because they were too big and heavy to fit in my car. It took an hour to get from my old place to the destination, but they arrived close to 1 1/2 hour later and charged me for the full 1 1/2 hour driving time. All in all I expected somewhere between $300-$500 and I ended up paying $837.50 not including tip! Definitely would recommend checking with them to understand all fees that aren't included in their "no hidden fees" quote. They are very professional and get the job done with no worries about damage. They get 3 stars for that reason. This company has acted like scam artists since we contracted them. First they were very late arriving. Then our price was moved up significantly. The price was moved up since we had a lot of art glass and the need for "special packing". The movers were friendly and seemed professional. They appeared to do a good job. After they stored it, we were told it was an extra $1500/ mo. Then when we asked them to deliver, it was delayed. They actually wanted to start the move at 11:00 at night. Arrived next day and in unpacking the art glass, the three most valuable pieces were broken. We did this with their movers present. We asked how to fill out a claim. While the move was average at best (they moved everything, but were on the slower side in general) I was extremely disappointed with the damage caused to my new home's flooring. The lead told me, after taking pictures, that he would get a repair in the works ASAP. It has now been over a month and I have left multiple voicemails with no response. Alliance moving and storage is who we contacted for our move and had given us a quote for the move and they assured us that the van size was adequate for the size of our 3 bedroom 1400 SF condo, we had no idea they farm out their work to others. when moving day arrived Platinum Moving and Storage showed up on time and then proceeded to go through the house and then tell us that it would be another 5500.00 for all the boxes and what not, totally caught us off guard and they know that they have you up against the wall as you need to move that day and cannot reschedule. they loaded and they could not fit all our stuff into the van that they had assured us it would fit. I had spinal surgery 7 days before and had to drive to U-Haul and rent a truck and trailer and drive back and then pay more for their guys to load my truck, they also damaged our screen door in the process. They are bloodsuckers and could not care less and did not get done till 5 PM then I had to drive 7 hours to Prescott Az. from San Diego with a bad back and stop in Phoenix to catch a few hrs. sleep as it was 2:30 in the morning at 11:00. they unloaded our furniture and broke a large flat screen TV and damaged a wall and damaged our custom bedroom set, we were assured by the movers that they would pay for the TV and screen door but would have to file a claim for the other damage. Needless to say we have not gotten a Nickle. from anyone and many calls went to voice mail and never returned. Never ever use these guys as they will RIP YOU OFF and lie to your face. We had to pay to repair the screen door for the new buyers. They are the worst. read more
