A CAUTIONARY TALE: My husband and I hired Osmon Movers for a move from LA to the Bay Area on 4/1/22. They arrived the week of, as we hired them to assist with packing and loading as well. We purchased additional insurance to protect ourselves from accidental damage but little did we know that we would soon be receiving a ransacked truck with many of our belongings missing or damaged to the tune of over $15,000. For clarity, our move was a 3-day process. Osmon's team sent 3 employees to pack on Wednesday, 4 employees to load our belongings on Thursday, and they were expected to deliver 4 employees and the 24' truck full of our belongings on Friday morning at 9 am. On Wednesday, during packing, the foreman demanded that we pay for parking at an $80 fee. They used the boxes we had, and then supplemented a limited amount of packing supplies at a total of over $400. Two items were broken by their employees. We paid in full for the day's work + tips for the employees. On Thursday, the truck was packed and it was time to pay for the day's work. The foreman requested a 25% tip, stating that this was the standard practice. When my husband declined to fulfill this request (the move was estimated to be $5000 total at this point, and $1000 in tips on top of paying approximately $76/hr/employee was far from what we deemed as reasonable) he became visibly angry. My husband attempted to thank him, and still paid for the day's work and provided over $50 in tips per employee. The foreman turned away from him without a word and gathered his belongings to leave. As per the website, the standard tip is $4-6/hr/employee. The information provided by the foreman was a blatant lie. At this point, we were beginning to get frustrated by the lack of transparency, professionalism, and honesty displayed but we continued on as normal. The next morning, we were expected to meet the new moving crew at 9 am at our new apartment. By 9:40, we still had not received contact from anyone on their team. My husband called the foreman from the previous days, and said, "The driver had an emergency and you're not going to get your stuff today. Someone will call you in 30 minutes." He then hung up on us without explanation. We contacted customer service approximately 3-4 times as they would not provide us with a clear answer as to what had happened to the driver or our belongings. I was kept on hold for over a half-hour, hung up on, and ultimately not contacted until almost 12 noon with any explanation at all. Apparently, their truck was stolen at 7 am, and no one told us until 5 hours later. We were instructed to use our homeowner's insurance because "moving company insurance isn't that good," as per their customer service representative Joan. If we wouldn't have called I really don't know when they would have contacted us. At 10 pm that night, I get a text from a new number saying that the truck was recovered. Apparently, it was from the owner, who had not contacted us prior and did not introduce himself as the owner. It wasn't until the following day that we were advised that the truck was parked at a hotel in Oakland (which is unbelievably notorious for car theft and break-in) when it was stolen. We were told that it looked like the only thing that was stolen was a TV, which as per the pictures is impossible. (We would soon see that the first 10-12 ft of the truck were completely destroyed.) We asked for delivery first thing the next morning, and were told that they couldn't do it because they already had something planned for the morning. At this point, I heard no concern for our belongings, our experience, or that this company wanted to right the wrong that happened on their watch. We paid them thousands of dollars to be entrusted with literally all of our belongings - irreplaceable wedding gifts, family heirloom items, furniture, antiques, art, clothing, baby pictures, everything. Of the belongings that were returned, many were destroyed, stained, and haphazardly dumped into mixed boxes. Once the remainder of our things were unloaded, I was immediately pressed for an inventory of missing items and to sign a new contract. After all of this, the company expected (1) immediate payment, (2) a concrete list of items missing without ample time to inventory the mess they delivered, and (3) to sign a contract stating that I had received a complete and substantial service. I firmly believe that this was an attempt to further skirt liability as the next time I spoke with the owner, Janysh, he informed me that even though our contract explicitly states that we had additional insurance to cover the items in full, his team failed to file the request with their 3rd party insurance provider. Time and time again, we were made to feel as if our experience and belongings were the last thing on their mind. They are refusing to cover the $15k in loss/damages, and we are now forced to file a breach of contract lawsuit to recuperate our losses. read more

We needed a moving company from California to Arizona. I was told about Rainbow Movers. I received a quote for flat rate moving, it wasn't the cheapest and not the most expensive so we went with them. Everything started out great! The movers showed up as promised in a large truck with a granny attic, all our stuff was put in the truck. Our delivery was scheduled for 02/25/21. The night before the on the 24rd around 6:13pm I received a call from the customer service person, she said there was an issue with our stuff, the truck was 2000lbs over weight, so they were turned around at the weigh Station! They had to remove some of our belongings and another truck would still be delivering part of our belongings on the 25th, they did. However to get the reminder on our stuff delived to us we would have to pay an additional $2200.00, as it was our fault not there's. read more

I don't like leaving reviews so here it is. Simply they overcharged me. They said the price was locked in and then denied saying it when they claimed it was on an hourly budget. They moved two places without a hiccup. Then the "bill" came. Double. Said they were there twice as long as they thought at each place. How is that possible since we were asked to send pictures for the quote? They got it wrong by double? On top of that they didn't even move my whole place. They did half the work yet somehow it took twice as long as they thought. I only required them to move larger items. I didn't ask them to pack like originally planned. Yet it took twice as long as the my thought. After me going on a rant on the phone that day the consensus was a manager would call me today to work it out. I just opened my bank account and seen they charged me. That's tantamount to fraud in my opinion and maybe the laws. The only reason I'm not going to go any further with this is because I was trying to do a good thing for my parents, and in order for that to remain I have to let it go. So, I sent out a request for quotes via Yelp not really sure what response i would get. I was surprised with response. After doing my comparisons, and noticing a very suspicious pattern and space for getting milked, I called these guys who offered a flat rate. I met with Lee who came to the house to do a full review of the space. He was great and used an Ipad to take down everything we had. After he offered a price which i countered based on rates i was seeing on the other vendors. Eventually, it was agreed to and a contract sent over. !!!!!!!!!!!! Here is something you do have to do. CHECK THE LIST OF ITEMS. CHECK IT AGAIN WITH A SECOND PAIR OF EYES.There were items missing from the list that had been missed or identified as not to be taken. Have the list corrected. !!!!!!!!!!!!! So the day comes and 6 Russians (AKA Alexs K and his crew) show up - READY TO WORK. We did a quick walkthrough of the house and they DID THEIR THANG. After 5 hours they had loaded up our 3 bedroom house with two car garage and were ready to head out. They confirmed the destination and we left. At the destination, they did another walkthrough and got right to work. In 3 hours, they unloaded 26 foot trucks and charged us - SURPRISE - the flat rate!!! Great group. Great vendor. They got the job done. Some suggestions: - Buy your own blankets for you TVs. Harbor Freights has some. - Buy your own wardrobe and regular boxes from Uhaul - Buy bubble wrap and packing tape from Amazon - Buy tape gun from Amazon. Make sure it has a spring (not fixed) guide for the tape. DO NOT buy Uhauls tape guns. They suck. - The movers cannot take anything with gas in it. Take it out and show them. - The movers DO NOT reconnect plumbing, water or gas lines onto appliances. read more

Buyer Beware!! The good reviews and initial consultations had us sold. But on moving day, I saw a fellow try to DRAG our piano as the legs began to bend away from the body, I intervened but that was just the beginning. We were promised excellence and never doubted that our valuable antiques and other belongings would be wrapped in blankets and moved with the care one expects from professionals and which had been outlined by company representatives. Almost without exception, every piece of furniture, major appliance, mirror, was damaged. And so much more went awry that I am choosing not to delineate our entire nightmarish experience here. I will just provide a sample. They took much longer than promised to complete the move. There were issues layered upon issues. I have no reason to report anything less that accurately and my reviews are overwhelmingly positive. This was beyond the pale. We were promised a one day move as we had professionally packed and labeled prior to move day. The move took THREE days and three crews. And we only got that last crew because I called and called and found work arounds to reach someone who arranged a crew whose job it was just to clean up the mess the last crew had left dumping furniture, vinyl albums, books, outdoors in the back yard overnight! We were denied recompense for the damage to most of our furniture...which consisted of dings, deep scratches, legs and entire sections of beautiful antique pieces ripped away, slashes in leather stool surfaces, an end table with top surface detached from its legs... We settled for a small fraction of the costs to repair, because we were emotionally exhausted and unwilling to impose on ourselves the incumbent stress of a lawsuit. I see that another reviewer, Jacy B., generously took the time to spell out in detail, the God awful experience they had with this company. There is more but I find I am reliving what amounted to trauma as I create this abbreviated review; I want to put out a warning because we need to rely on each other for information that will help us find ethically run businesses and avoid experiences such as I have described with the understanding that what I have reported here is less than a complete accounting; I assure you, there was more to share regarding their very questionable business practices of this company. read more

I booked an appointment that they literally did not show up for. On Friday, I booked for movers to help me move something yesterday (Sunday). The representative, Erica, had to check the availability and call me back to confirm. She called back and let me know they were able to do it with an arrival window between 2-4pm. She then took my $200 non-refundable deposit. She also reminded me that I would not be able to cancel, as it would be too close to the appointment window. Erica stated that normally they send out paperwork for me to sign, but this might be simply brought with them on Sunday. She also said they would contact me on Sunday to give me an update on their arrival window. At 1pm on Sunday, I had not heard from anyone and decided to call both Rainbow Movers, as well as Erica's direct line to leave messages. I called back at 2:30 & 3:45, again leaving messages. No one showed up or called, ever. I left a final voice-mail for them on both lines around 4:20pm stating someone needed to call me back and I needed to be refunded. Today (Monday), someone called me back around 2pm and said "hi, do you need help with a move? We have a missed call from this number?" - as if they had not even listened to the voice-mails! I told her what happened and I needed to be refunded and she put me on a five minute hold to speak with a manager. The manager, I believe her name was Joan, said it appeared that Erica had canceled the reservation. (I had not received any notice of this). The manager said she was sorry and she "didn't know why this happened... theyre not supposed to be able to cancel it... I'm very bummed..." she said she processed my refund for the deposit and to contact her if I didn't get it. I understand there is nothing else they can do for me, but it would be nice if they had given me more than "I'm really bummed this happened." I wouldn't risk booking with them. At least make sure you get some kind of confirmation, other than them simply taking your payment. read more

I never thought I'd see the day I give 5 stars to movers, but alas, it has happened! I scoured Yelp (and pinged friends) for movers to move stuff from SF to socal. No one loved their movers. Every place had mixed reviews. Erica from Rainbow Movers reached out to me. We weren't in a rush so ended up playing phone tag a bit. I had actually verbally committed to another mover that was going to deliver within a 10 day window. Every place informed me that trucks were super expensive since everyone is moving and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. I ended up connecting with Erica and had a great conversation. We would be able to get the same guys to drive straight to our destination next day. Furniture wraps, tape, saran wrap would ALL be included. No random extra charges for basic items. Day-of, Arthur and his team were stellar. Disassembling, assembling, loading, communicating, packing, etc were all fast and efficient. Arthur even tried to fix a piece of furniture that I'm pretty sure Clutter (the company we were using for storage right before the move) effed up. Truly 5 star guys. There is not enough good that I can say about Osmon Moving & Storage. I found them through a mailer I received. I had sold my house and bought another house 110 miles away. And we were doing renovations in the new house, so no moving in for about 5 weeks (lots of Airbnb). To make things more complicated we were combining 2 households. I called the company and Lee came out to see what I was moving (a 2bedroom apartment). He looked at all the furniture etc. All was going into storage at their facility. And most of my boxes were in a 5x10 foot storage unit at a local facility. My friend's belongings were in a 10x10 foot storage unit at the same facility. Lee gave me a quote for day 1, and Chris gave me a quote for day 2 -3 and storage at their facility. We signed a contract. As it goes with renovations, our move in date was sliding, twice. Joan, from the office, was great both times in helping me re-schedule and then re-re-schedule. Juman was the foreman for all 3 moves. Day 1 he and another man wrapped all my furniture and loaded the truck. They were on-time, professional, polite, efficient and very easy to work with. It didn't even take 3 hours. And the price was the contract price. Not any hassle like you have all heard about moving companies. Day 2, several weeks later, Juman and two other men unloaded the 10x10 and 5x10 storage units into their truck in about 90 minutes. The next day, Day 3, Juman and the same two men drove 3 hours to my new house with the storage from their facility and what they had loaded on Day 2. They arrived on time and were as professional, efficient and easy to work with as the times before. All the furniture was unwrapped, assembled if needed, and put in place. All the boxes were placed in the rooms we designated. They were done in under 3 hours. Remember they still had a 3 hour drive back to their home base. And the price was the contract price. Again, no "extra charges" or any other issues. Let me point out that the cost of the 3 moves was far below the "estimates" that I received from other companies! If you wanted (and I did) there was a discount for cash! What's not to like??? And as you should when you receive good service, I gave each man a healthy tip. They were so humble in accepting it I was concerned that others have not valued them and their work. I hope NEVER to move again, and if I do, you can bet I will call Osmon Moving & Storage. read more

There are not enough words of gratitude to express how I feel about these people. Pre-moving, I was a wreck. I had had a terrible experience with my previous movers, and I was ready to rent a u-haul truck and do it myself. I had gone to bed real late the day before, and I got up at the crack of dawn on the day of, so I can confidently say that I was exhausted by the time they arrived. So professional and such hard workers. The next day, I met Duman at the new location where he and his helper unloaded the truck. Let me tell you, Duman is a master at puzzles. He was able to fit all my "accoutrement" so perfectly in the storage space I had rented. Not only that, he and his helpers (all of them) were the nicest, most polite people I had ever met. Rainbow Movers were great!!! Artur, Rustan, and Martes were so helpful in our move from Valley Village to Sun Valley! They were very careful, yet efficient, with all our furniture. We had a very heavy couch that needed to be moved and they were able to move it and reassemble it for us with no issues! Fast forward 18 months, and with several WFH extensions we had never gone back to the Bay and it was time to make the move permanent. We hired Rainbow movers to pack our house that we hadn't lived in for 18 months, had left abruptly, and move everything 1,000 miles. With no supervision (we stayed in our 2nd home) the crew packed everything perfectly - only one wine glass broke in the entire move! Most importantly they were trustworthy - they packed fountain pens, jewelry and cash/gift cards. These small high value items were easily pocketable and made it - again, with no one watching. We have used professional movers several times before for large but less complex moves and none have been this good. If we ever move again, Rainbow movers will be our first call. read more

Extremely responsive to get a quote, walked me through all the steps to take. On moving day the movers came right on time and took extra care and precaution with all my items.
