P&P catered my wedding reception and everything was wonderful. Everyone I worked with was extremely helpful and accommodating, they helped create the menu based on my budget, the prices (including delivery) were extremely reasonable, and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. I definitely recommend their catering service! From a general customer standpoint, they have lots of yummy food and are a great option for lunch or dinner (the evenings they are open!). My family is a big fan of their coconut cake (they also sell cupcakes) and I love their brownies, cheesecake bars, and all of the desserts I've tried there. Their salads are wonderful - I think my favorites are the Greek caesar salad and lemon tarragon pasta salad - and the only thing I would change is to cut the cherry tomatoes and grapes in half as whole ones are tricky to eat on salads (they will if you ask). read more

My friend and I went to Plates and Palates. I wanted to take my husband there. We have tried three times now. The first time during the week and not even opened. No signs No nothing. Second we went there they were closed again. There wAs a sign. Went to go this last weekend they were opened we noticed they closed at six but we were there a little after five and there were still people sitting at the tables east side. West side table already had the chairs stacks on top and there wAs a sign that said No seating after five allowed. We were like what. You're a soup and sandwich place and people could be done within a hour. She asked us what we'd like and we said we'd like to be seAted and guy from behind at the register said we don't seat after five. Kind of rude. The flavors are there and yummy, but the sugary dressing ruins the dish. 10/10 don't recommend the lemon tarragon pasta. read more

We flew in today to Salt Lake City from Oakland for a visit w/ my brother Jim, who lives in Huntsville. We knew we would be hungry for lunch, so Alan did some research on Yelp before we left home and found Plates & Palates would be on the way from SLC to Huntsville. The reviews were good and I liked the cleverness of the name. We found the restaurant w/o difficulty and parked in the lot a few steps away. We walked in and looked at overhead menu. I decided on the Mediterranean panini, which was described as cracked wheat bread, salami, ham, artichoke tapenade, roasted bell pepper, feta and provolone. Jim ordered an Italian turkey panini, which was described as cracked wheat bread, turkey, sundried tomato tapenade, provolone and fresh basil. Alan ordered the curry chicken salad, w/ chicken, grapes, celery, green onion, dried apricot, carrot and sweet coconut curry dressing. I ordered hot tea to drink, Alan ordered iced coffee and Jim drank water. After ordering we sat at a table for 4 and our drinks were brought to us, then our meals. Both Jim's panini and mine came w/ crinkle cut potato chips. Neither was on cracked wheat bread as far as I could tell. The bread looked white. Jim liked his sandwich and I liked mine. Alan was less enthusiastic about his chicken salad, which was heavier on mayonnaise than he liked. He left most of it. Service was friendly and helpful. We noticed an apron hanging on the door outside the bathroom. Eventually one of the staff came out and put the apron on and I was struck by how scrupulously careful about hygiene the restaurant is and appreciated it. read more

Came here with my sister who lives nearby. She said the salads were amazing. She got a salad sampler with Lemon Tarragon Chicken salad, Curry Chicken Salad, and Waldorf Salad. I got 1/2 salad and 1/2 panini. The salad I got - tomato and basil penne, with fresh basil and pine nuts, was excellent. I ordered an Italian Turkey panini, which was supposed to have turkey, provolone, sun dried tomato tapenade, but when it came out it was turkey and apple - still good, but I wanted something more savory. I didn't tell them they brought the wrong sandwich; I'm confident they would have made it right if I'd asked. I subtracted a star for that, and also because we ordered dessert and they never brought it. That was fine because we took the dessert home for later, but there was just a little lapse in attention in a couple of areas. read more

Poor service equals bad review. Why do I need to move off the table when I have someone waiting in line to order? And on top of that, move because 2 older white ladies said so? I can't help it when I sat there for 10 minutes and no one asked me to move. Due to your lack of space, when we see a table open at your restaurant, and it's available, you sit down. Is that not the correct procedure? i was ordering my lunch and my friend found a table open. She sat down and I ordered. However, your rude kitchen person (a man) asked my friend to leave the table and give it up to 2 older white ladies cuz they complained there wasn't a place to sit and she wasn't ordering.....WTF! If that is your policy, "tables are for patrons who ordered their food...." say so. Otherwise, I am going to sit at an open table. Restaurants survive on word of mouth....take this word of mouth into consideration, I hope others read this and choose to think twice sitting down before ordering. After meaning to try this place for a year-and-a-half since moving here, I ended up eating at Plates & Palates three times within the last couple of weeks. And that wasn't too much! Perfect lunch spot with fresh, tasty, good-quality food that feels at least a little healthier than the typical burger and fries. The desserts deserve first mention. They are all made in house, and they are unique and heavenly! Rum cake with strawberries, chocolate torte with a fabulous almond(?) crust, orange cheesecake that tasted like a dreamsicle but better. Yum! My favorite salad so far is the lemon tarragon pasta salad. The only panini I've had a taste of is the turkey and apple. It was delicious. I usually get the salad sampler, which allows for one "green" salad and two "deli" salads. The service is attentive, but the ordering and paying process is kind of annoying, especially if it's your first time there and you don't know their "system". That's one of my peeves with restaurants...when I walk in for the first time and don't know exactly what to do. I shouldn't be made to feel awkward and dumb as part of a restaurant experience, as soon as I walk in. Can you just buy a sign that says "1- Please wait to order at the counter, 2- Find a seat, 3- Pay at the register after your meal"? Sorry, this criticism isn't just for Plates & Palates. Just a peeve of mine in general. But like I said, the service is good (water is always kept full, someone always checking in on the table), and the people are friendly. Nice owners who are on-site and care about their business. The ambiance is lacking. I've seen store/cafe combination restaurants that were decorated and merchandised more invitingly (Cucina in the Avenues of SLC comes to mind), but they do carry nice merchandise at Plates & Palates. It can also be noisy because it's full of groups of women lunching and gabbing. Portions are big, though. I think it would be a healthy, filling lunch for manly appetites too. In conclusion, Plates & Palates fills a perfect niche in Bountiful for healthy, slightly-upscale lunch food and homemade desserts. read more

For Bountiful, for the bi-weekly lunch joint (they claim lunchtime) 5 star is an easy call. Food is thoughtful, mostly healthy (in Bountiful a unicornian idea), and prepared with care. Mucho salads, some great soups options that change frequently, and some greasy sandwiches and chips that scratch the fat-kid itch. Staff and service a 10. Owners way cool and accommodating. I avoid the pastries... Very good but very bad. I try not to look in the dessert case at all. read more
