The place was PACKED! We went for lunch at 12:30p on 11/14 (Tuesday). The food was DELISH and it was fast and fresh. We had to grab someone a few times to get a refill on our drinks but they were all friendly and helpful. Best lunch in Bountiful. I have never eaten anything here I didn't like, and I have worked here so I've tried it all! Justin and Jared really make an effort to know their guests. How cool is it that no one but the owner will ring up your order! Nina is an excellent pastry chef. Aside from the coconut cake, ask about the mango rice pudding, the creme brulee and the peppermint cheesecake. My go-to salads are the Chicken Fajita Salad, Lemon Terrigon, Kale and Quinoa, Strawberry Chicken, Curry Chicken. Sandwiches: Southwest Turkey, Medditeranian, and the Capresse. Soups: Split-pea and ham, Cheesey potato and bacon. My all time favorite is the coconut curry lentil soup. So good! read more

The food here is good. My work has provided this for lunch several times and I really enjoyed it. However, I went in to the restaurant for the first time a few days ago and it completely changed my opinion. First of all, it took about 3 minutes of me just standing there awkwardly before any one of the 6 people working greeted me. When I paid, the guy didn't tell me the price, grabbed the card out of my hand, and then threw the card on the table instead of handing it back to me. He should definitely not be working with customers if he is going to act like he hates his life. All in all, I'll continue eating the food if my work continues to provide it for lunch but I definitely will not be going back on my own. read more

This is my favorite go to place in Bountiful. Perfect for dates, for lunch, for take out. I pretty much get their lemon tarragon pasta every time because I'm obsessed with it. Plates is a staple in my restaurant go-tos! I've been going their since high school, they catered my wedding, and I go there on my lunch break at least 2 times a month! They have the best salads, sandwiches, and dessert. Every time we have a baby blessing, baptism, baby shower, or wedding shower, we order a salad and a coconut cake. Their food is so yummy! We love Justin and Jared, they are so nice. Overall the service and food are great! read more

If you appreciate fun combinations of good healthy food you will love this place. Fun and light atmosphere with a young modern feel. Every one is friendly and helpful. They are always changing things up and are willing to sub foods. I recommend getting a combo plate so you can try different things. DISCRIMINATION. Yesterday my lovely wife and I along with our twin 18 month old babies ventured to the bountiful plates and palates. It was busy there where a few people sitting waiting for what i assumed was to-go orders. we stepped up and ordered our food and then walked over and found a table. we had been sitting for a few minutes when suddenly the man who took our order very rudely told use we could not stay there. shocked we just started to get up babies gear and all when the man shouted that we cant just take other peoples table!! at this point I was very confused, and felt that there was no reason for us be be treated like criminals, the only thing we can think of is they did not want us there with our babies! What other reason is there to be treated so harshly? My wife went back to speak to the manager only to find he would not talk to her and rudely pointed at the sign that said wait until you group is all present then find a seat??? well needless to say it left my wife in tears and us with hungry babies thanks so much plates and jerks! read more

This is our "go to" place for our friends birthday luncheons. Always fresh & delish! The shrimp/spinach is my favorite but you really can't go wrong. And don't forget dessert!! I love this place! The menu items are creative, healthy, and delicious! I ordered all the food from my wedding reception here, and everyone just raved about how good it was! The owner is always there working, and is so nice. The ladies in my office go here probably once a month, and it's even so good, my husband will drive from Salt Lake to meet me there for lunch. STAFF IS SO RUDE! I was at Plates and Palates yesterday for a business meeting waiting for two others to arrive. They were busy so I was told they would seat me when the rest of my party arrived. The second member of our party arrived and we notified the waiter that the third would be another twenty minutes. After a short wait, they seated us at a two person table and added a chair. After about five minutes, a different waiter asked us to move to a different, larger table. So we did. We were at the bigger table for about ten minutes when the first waiter asked where our third party member was. I informed him she should be along in five or ten minutes, to which he replied, "I'm going to have to ask you to vacate." We waited patiently and never demanded to be seated. We understood they were busy and were fine with waiting yet we were seated two different times, never offered a menu to look at or asked for an order, then kicked out. Don't go here expecting to be treated professionally or courteously. read more

Using fresh local goodies (a lot of Organics) from the community, the owner under French cooking influence, knows his food and wisely combine different ingredients making his daily special a Andrew Zimmern's shaking head experience each time I visit. All the food is good but a little pricey. My only complaint is that they don't have the caprese panini and quinoa salad all year round.

In general, I'm not a salad guy, but Plates and Palates is an exception; their salads are delicious!

I thought my meal here was insanely delicious (southwest turkey panini with pears and pecans salad). Not only that, but the portions were generous and the service was great! So i have been coming here for the past year. I always order the waldorf salad. In the beginning the salad was perfect. The perfect ratio to salad and toppings. You always had a little of everything in every bite. Mixed greens, chicken, candied pecans, grapes. apples and celery for those who like it. (i opt out on the celery). A creamy sweet and tangy poppy seed dressing and a delicious sourdough roll. But lately my salad has been lacking the healthy stuff (salad/lettuce). I've had excess toppings (who complains about that? Me) and less lettuce. To me that's a pricey lunch of toppings $9.50 plus tax and tip. I've never tried asking for extra greens because i am afraid i will then have to much salad and not enough toppings. I guess im just a complainer and cant seem to find that happy medium. But give this place a try if you love salads read more
