Cute spot for flowers and coffee. Got a latte for me, milk for the kids and some baked goods. There is some seating and people were nice and made some space for us to sit. I usually get my coffee in NJ and know that when I get coffee in New York city it's usually good. The place was pretty busy on a Saturday which is a testament to quality. They ran out of gluten-free pastries early which is a shame. The flowers look beautiful and they are connected but separate. I saw someone get a small tomato bush to grow at home. This is by far my favorite cafe in honestly the whole city. Why? The staff makes me feel like I live in a small town and am known and remembered amidst the anonymity of this city.They are always so friendly. I often come in when Andrew and Becca are in. They were in today and I just had to give them a shout out. They pull an excellent shot of espresso. So good you can drink it pure and straight and it's delightful. Today though, I mixed it up and tried the Dragonfly. Delicious! Overall, just a wonderful place to go when I need a break from the kiln and the studio. Found this cute place as I was wandering around the city. Located on 87th & Columbus on the Upper West Side. What a unique combination....coffee and plants. The coffee's good, made fresh and they carry a nice selection of locally made baked goods. Beautiful plant shop with a nice selection of plants, orchids and fresh flowers. Came here with a friend on a Sunday morning and absolutely loved all the variety of plants and flowers inside! I ordered a cappuccino, which I thought was okay but nothing amazing. The pastry case looked pretty delectable but they cannot warm anything up unfortunately. They serve Partners coffee here, so I pretty much already knew I was going to love it (plus how could you beat the ambiance?). Four stars instead of five really just because of the prices, and the fact that it's pretty cramped inside (though there is outdoor seating built on the street). read more

Staff is friendly and they have gluten free (celiac safe) snack bars. The bathroom is clean and open to customers. The plant shop is gorgeous! Sadly the coffee itself is very lacking. (I haven't tried their matcha or teas.) read more

Such a unique spot with upscale plants and upscale coffee. I have gotten coffee here a handful of times and never have gotten plants, but I always make a point to walk through the entrance with the plants since they are so pretty! They had a nice selection for the winter holidays. The plants are definitely pricey, though. They had some gorgeous winter bouquets for $25 a pop. I suppose I'd need an extra special occasion to splurge. There's a rack or two with letterpress cards if you are looking for some, as well. The cafe is definitely cool and more unique than other UWS coffee shops. Most of the seats are not particularly comfortable, so I wouldn't want to stick around too too long. I've never gotten a pastry, but they get them from a few different places (based on the pricing chart that's on the display case). My most previous time, I did splurge on a $6+ coffee drink: mat-chai-latte. I had never seen that combination before, so I had to give it a try. Absolutely delicious. It's the way I'd want always to drink a matcha latte, truthfully. That being said, I'd be broke, so I'll let this drink live on in my memory. read more

I met up with a friend at PlantShed last weekend and loved the coffee and ambiance. PlantShed is part coffee shop and part flower shop. I always love walking around the store with my coffee, and admiring the plants. There are a few PlantShed locations throughout the city, but I love this one in particular because it is close to Central Park and is easy to take your coffee to go and enjoy all the park has to offer. Was dog sitting for a lovely weekend on Upper West Side. Was told must go get coffee and pastries here. Wow! Many coffee options. And milk/non dairy options. And pastries. I walked past this place twice and was intrigued by the myriads of plants in the store. Naturally, I had to come in and check it out. stumbled upon PlantShed on a walk around the neighborhood and I'm so glad I did! I got a vanilla oat milk latte and while it was one of the more pricy lattes I've had, it was DELICIOUS. Dare I say worth the $7 for one drink haha. They also had a few vegan/gluten free baked good options that are pre-packaged but still tasty. They have these cute little tables set up outside. On my boyfriend's and my walk back from morning grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, I decided to make a pit stop for coffee at PlantShed. The plants they had on sale was already a win in my book. But looking at their coffee menu, I was impressed by their selection of non-dairy milks, including macadamia and coconut. I treated my boyfriend to a drip coffee, while I decided to go a little bit fancier with a macadamia milk cappuccino. I wished the barista made my cap a little drier, which is how I usually prefer my caps. But the macadamia milk was a nice break from the almond milk I always get. Bonus point from me, because the cap in general was just really well-made. read more

They did an excellent job repotting my friendship plant! It had some browning leaves and was starting to tilt over when I brought it in, and they did an amazing job not only freshening up the soil but also trimming the dead parts and helping prop it up. It was my first time having a plant professionally repotted, and I couldn't be happier with the results - I was only expecting fresh soil but they made my plant look so much healthier and happier. I will definitely return to them for any future houseplant needs! read more

PlantShed, both a coffee shop and a plant shop, a millennials dream am I right? Haha. All jokes aside, I think this place was worth a quick visit if you are in the area. Its not super large but they do make good use of the space and offer a pretty decent selection of houseplants staples/basics (like sansevieria and pothos) and a few trendy/cool plants (like Pink Princess Philodendron at $120 or neon pothos and rhaphidora tetrasperma). There is everything in between like succulents and fiddles and fresh cut flowers. Its not a large space so they were only allowing two to three customers at a time (which I appreciate) and didn't try to be overbearing or overly friendly (I don't think any acknowledged me when I came in but that's ok). I didn't look at their coffee menu or prices as I wasn't looking for a drink at the time but it did smell nice. The store is sectioned off so if you want coffee you would have to go in from the outside. I'm not sure if that's all the time or if they did this for pandemic reasons to regulate in and outs? It was a good quick visit and I purchased an alocasia polly to replace the one I have which isn't doing too well. The more the merrier right? They wrapped it with some tissue paper and placed it into a decent sized paper bag with handles (convenient for if you are shopping for other things in the area). I was impressed they have several pink princess plants but at the $120 price point I was only going to window shop those! read more

I was looking for a cafe to meet a friend for coffee on the upper West Side of Manhattan and I reached out to a colleague who lives in the area who urged me to consider the PlantShed Cafe on 87th and Columbus Avenue. It is indeed a very cozy and unique cafe that's nestled inside a flower shop! While the tables are small and squeezed into the corner of their cafe which is on the far side of their store, everyone who were seated ( and there were a few people waiting) seemed either in love or seriously engaged in their books, iPhones or computers. Imagine how intimate and aromatic it can be to be sitting engaged in conversation while breathing in the oxygen enriched plant and flower shop. I was among the lucky ones this afternoon, as I sipped my delicious almond latte and enjoyed one of the PlantShed's delicious cookies. The cafe is only open until 7pm so keep that in mind, but if you are in the neighborhood or want to meet a friend in a cafe that's quiet and feels far away from your typical Westside coffee shop, you'll want to go to the PlantShed Cafe. If I could have given a zero I would have. I live in the neighborhood and shop here because it is convenient although the prices are exorbitant. This just happened today: a woman is at the front desk when I was examining a small pot when it slipped and broke. I told the woman that I was sorry and that I really did want the pot if she had another one in the back. She told me I had to pay for this one. Very calmly I told her that was fine, but I would never be back in the store again. She then told me that I should have been more careful! Nasty attitude. The policy was bad enough, but it was the woman's attitude that sealed the deal:. Suffice it to say neither I nor my friends and associates will ever frequent this place again.She should never interact with the public without being admonished by her manager and re-assigned to not interface with the public. read more

We stopped here for coffee to meet with my son and his wife because they like this shop. We all ordered hot coffee drinks and a scone. Everything was delicious and hot. The coffee had great flavor and were made as we requested. Seeing the beautiful pastries in the case, we decided to try a blueberry scone.
