Pricey but great if you know what you want and want a nice pot to make it the perfect package. Great atmosphere and cute shop! Looking a fun DIY project to do in Charlotte? This place is great for a date, girl's day out or Funday with your family and friends. You can reserve a slot to build your own terrarium at a workshop or just stop in and pick out a plant for your home or office. Now the best part for me were the refreshing $5.00 mimosas while you build or shop. Open daily but I highly recommend planning ahead and scheduling a reservation especially on weekends. read more

Although pretty pricey, it's worth the visit! Their plant vase are super cute and they have plenty of beautiful green babies to choose from. My boyfriend took me to PlantHouse to build a terrarium. It was my first time building one and it was such a great & exciting experience. All the staff were so kind and extremely helpful. They're very well educated in the plants and will answer all your questions. As a new plant mom, I had so many and they made me feel confident about my new journey. I was so excited that I didn't even get a chance to have a mimosa! I definitely recommend and would go again. read more

So we came to this place for a DIY Workshop (with a flight). The place had an amazing vibe. However, the DIY experience was sort of like... here fend for yourself. I would have liked to have more of a "bring us together" and talk about the air plants versus succulents. There was barely any guidance to kick us off. Also, there was zero follow up with the adult beverages (which btw was included). They could have done a much better job in bring us into the fold as new caretakers of air plants or succulents. If you go to this, make sure you get them to give you your moneys worth. read more

OH MY GOSH! This place is so gorgeous and a perfect quick crafty activity. Don't miss this cool place amongst the greens.

Heard about this place via social media. The building is a tad small and can be very packed depending on the time you come. I live that they have space where you or a group can gather to build terrariums. The plants are a bit pricey, but definitely healthier than what you purchase at your national retails known for plants. I also love that they will pot your plant for free if you bring or buy your own pot. Definitely looking forward to a trip back to try the terrariums and mimosas. read more

I'm disabled and walk with a cane. I tried to shop there yesterday and was told by an employee that I couldn't park in a designated disability parking space, because their truck "needed" every single one of the disability parking spaces it's illegal for them to use for that purpose. When I told the employee that those spaces are reserved for disabled customers, I was told that if I tried, the truck would back right up against my car and that I wouldn't be able to leave. Since the next closest open parking space was well outside of the distance I am able to walk without pain, the impact was to leave me unable to enter the store at all. I tried contacting them myself and was ignored. I had a disability advocate contact them, and she was treated horribly. There's no excuse, and reading their reviews on Google, it looks like I'm not the first disabled person they've bullied. So I've filed a federal ADA complaint. There are so many plant stores in Charlotte that aren't openly hostile to disabled people. Spend your money there, not here. read more

I just recently hopped onto the quarantine green thumb craze and I have never been so excited! (I blame this place) The staff at Plant Bar are friendly and readily available to answer all of my ridiculous questions! They give me recommendations and tips on how to keep my plants thriving. If I chose something they do not think would work out well, they will let me know and give me an alternative option. I have been coming every other week and bringing as many friends as possible to check this place out. Even if you do not enjoy plants, the interior itself is beautiful to look at. They have quite the variety! I appreciate that they take your temperature before going in, as well as enforce a maximum occupancy so that customers are able to safely social distance inside. All staff members are also wearing masks. Keep it up read more

Super cool plant shop, full of unusual pots of things I didn't recognize! Gardeners dream place this is. So much to look at, plants, books, cards, gifts. Neat little bar tucked in the corner, with mimosas, and wine and beer. Plant and drink! Reason we came was to do the build your own terranium part. Neat set up of tables, with all kinds of terranium paraphernalia, lots of succulents, air plants, cactus, and vessels to build in. First you chose your vessel, meaning the vase/glass shape of choice. There are several to choose from, all different shapes and sizes. There are plenty of staff members around to guide you and one stayed with my group to help us through the building process and what you can and cannot put together. Which was good as we had no clue what we were doing! I went with the tall vase type vessel, and chose airplants. I used sand, shells, moss, rocks, and you get upto 4 airplants you can put in. I chose a beachy theme, and did a jellyfish hanging from the top. You can be as creative as you like, with all the things for you to use. With instructions as to how to keep my terranium alive I was done in about an hour. Did this with my mom on Mother's Day , as many others were. Really neat place. Great for a birthday outing, or just a girls day out. Yes men were there too! Fun experience, something different, glad I got to do this! Hope I can keep it alive . read more

Went to Planthouse to check it out and see what large plants they have for beginner plant parents. Mahogany (who was very helpful) recommended the "Bird of Paradise". I went to AtHome for the planters and came back and Mahogany repotted the plants for me. Love this store, good vibes, very friendly workers. Also some people were there to make their own terrariums in the store so that was cool. I'll definitely come back when I decide to get more plants for my collection. The bird of paradise that I purchased were very full, a lot fuller than I've seen online at other places. They were about $80 per plant. The shop is in a small shopping center and I went on a weekend in the morning so there was plenty of close parking. read more

My best friend and I had been discussing this new spot, PlantBar and today we finally decided to go check it out. It's official, I'M A PROUD PLANT MOM!! I purchased one 4" Peperomia Obtusifolia 'Variegata' and one 6" Aglaonema Silver Bay. I spent about $37. Employee Daniel assisted us. He is very knowledgeable, patient and kind. Cool vibe and tons of beautiful healthy plants to choose from. We visited on a Saturday morning. It was kinda busy. Everyone including employees wore face coverings. They also have a hand sanitizer station upon entering. read more

We visited this store for the first time today after watching them on Instagram for months! So glad we visited I got the propagation tubes so I can have more pothos plants and I picked up another plant baby while there. The store was very crowded which I didn't like, but that's cause I like browsing around over and over but with so many people in there I did feel rushed. However, that was no fault of the shop it was close to closing and they were have a 15% off sale! We will be back maybe in the morning when they are not as busy. Great plant store and I would recommend! read more

The good: good selection, friendly staff, knowledgeable about plants, cute items, fun task to do with friends or a date making plants. They bring you hot chocolate while you wait. I'm sure summer will be amazing! The Bad: Small. (But still good selection) I stood in line for 45 minutes my second visit (many people walked out, and staff didn't let others go in, there were not many inside) and once inside I heard one of the ladies say, "Should we just let the last few people in since there's not a lot of people in." That irritated me because I thought, "What was the long wait for before then if you're basing it on "Your personal thoughts?" So I'll probably keep driving if I see a line. read more

The ladies and gentlemen at PlantBar did an impeccable job across their grand opening weekend! We arrived close to 2:00 on that Sunday. There was a short wait (hello, grand opening so that's to be expected) but once we entered it was better than imagined. Despite the visitors, a friendly associate was always available and warmly checked in on us frequently. As I'm a new plant mama, the suggestions provided were greatly appreciated. The establishment also has a tasteful bar area that serves wine + beer. Time didn't allow me to partake in the terrarium station, however I'll be looking forward to doing so at my next visit. A friend asked me to tag along. I wasn't sure of what I'd be walking into but she said they sold bevvies and immediately I was intrigued. We came on a Friday afternoon, and waited outside for approximately 10mins before being allowed in. Due to Covid staff wanted to ensure it wasn't too crowded and that there was enough room to maneuver. While we waited one of the staff informed us on their current specials and the variety of plants they offer. I ended up purchasing a pachira aquatica (money tree) and they were gracious enough to repot it off me. I will definitely come back! I visited Plant House for the second time today and they didn't disappoint. The first day I came 10 minutes before closing (didn't overstay), but they greeted me with open arms and smiles as if they had just opened. I grabbed a small plant and was rushing but they proceeded to give me a tour and answer any questions that I had. Came back today and to my surprise they remembered me! The customer service is warm, friendly and welcoming. Prices are mid-range. Nice variety of rare (pricey ones); and very affordable ones. Large selection of pots. And, oh, yeah, they have classes! Stop by. You won't be disappointed! read more

Birthday gift and I scratched my head when it was given. However when I arrived the assortment of plants drew me in. We chose a vase for our creation and then we're coached as to what to do next. Such a cute idea for a store. My first time here I was a little overwhelmed but quickly found myself coming back. They have a great variety of healthy plants and the staff are knowledgeable about each. I'm a fan of the classes and work shops they offer which are perfect for date nights. They do have a small drink menu with wine and beer options if you're browsing or doing a class. They also repot your plants as well. It's free if you purchase at that time and there's a small fee if you bring in your plants from home. My only downside is I think the pots and the plants are a little on the expensive side, but that is a personal preference read more

Took my daughter here as part of our girls day to build a terrarium. The staff was super friendly but they seemed pretty busy and wasn't able to be as hands on with us as I thought they would be. I booked a reservation and paid $25/pp which did go towards the total cost of the project. It was a nice, calming fun activity. I would recommend it. My cousin and I attended the Winter Wonderland workshop. It was so much fun! Neither of us had been to the store before. The store itself is really cute and the employees were very friendly and helpful. There was a wonderful selection of plants and decorations for our terrariums. Everything was laid out on the table for us (including soil, rocks, etc) and very organized. Our instructor provided clear and informative directions. For everything that was included, I thought the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend PlantHouse and I can't wait to go again! P.S. They also provide potting services. :-) read more

I went with a small group for a birthday & the lady helping our table immediately greeted me, helped me pick out my plant & even knew my name (nice touch). This place is charming. As I walked through I kept thinking, what a neat place!" We arrived too late to work on a project, so we just browsed.we spoke with two of the workers there; both were pleasant and very knowledgeable about the types of plants and the care they required. The air quality is excellent as expected with a room fool of plants. The vibe here is very laid bag. It's like every is relaxed from drinking a glass of wine. Ironically, you can plant and sip here; hence the name Plant Bar. I don't personally drink but there was beer, wine, and mimosas on the menu. I've been wanting some plants for a while. Found this place from a random "nursery" search on the map app. So so glad I went. Kayla was in the front and I immediately asked for her to help me because my name is Kayla as well. She was so sweet and stayed with me the entire time. I asked 101 questions and had to have her help me pronounce plant names over and over (which was a me thing, not a her thing). She was so patient with me! Answered EVERY question and helped me find 3 new plant babies! She probably hated me because I'm needy but I didn't feel it at all. She was incredible. They repotted and watered my babies with my purchase. I had to call with some questions....they answered my questions and invited me to text with pictures if I had additional concerns! Amazing. Do not waste your time here. The staff was extremely rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. I went here to get a plant for one of my friends and the staff working didn't help me at all. One of my family members I was with came in later and the staff said there was no one else in the store. I finally chose a plant to purchase and it was WAY OVERPRICED!!!
