I would definitely order this again. And it was more than enough for two people. The taste was very good.

Fried cauliflower vings in gold sauce

We stopped here right before closing time after a long day of traveling. What a great spot. They made everything fresh. Service was great and the food was delicious. The standout for me was the cauliflower vings with the agave gold sauce. Would highly recommend them.

T Definitely a 4.5 for vegam comfort food. The best sauce on vings I've tasted on vegan food. I'm originally from Memphis and we all know the honey gold vings are King. I believe the same here is called royal gold. It was delicious. I also had cauliflower vings that had a hot sauce that brought the heat, mac and cheese and BBQ jackfruit sandwich. They were having a pick 4 special when ai went and got to taste a lot. The service was friendly and I received my food pretty quick. It was freshly cooked and so very good. My experience was a very good one and I can't wait to visit family again and return to this gem. You can eat inside or take it with you. There is parking on the side of the eatery which is housed next to a wing spot and other shops. I had no problem with parking. Great little spot to check out.

The food here is so delicious. I have gone several times and have not been disappointed. The first time I went, I had the honey hot cauliflower wings with lemon pepper sprinkled on them and they were so. They give you a great amount. I could not eat them all in one sitting. The homemade vegan ranch dressing was also delicious. The second time I went I had the vegan hot wings. I not exactly sure what they are made out of, but they were good and have the consistent of meat. I had the vegan blue cheese dressing with them and I was not disappointed. Oh and since they were on the counter, lol, I went ahead and got a vegan doughnut. Literally one of the best doughnuts that I've had. I can't wait to go back and try more menu items! If you are vegan and looking for something fun and healthy to eat, this is the place to go!

This place is so good! It's hard to find gluten free on my travels but we found this place and tried it out. Delicious! I got the burger with gluten free bun. Yummy!!! Definitely check them out

I like me plants delicious, thank you very much!

This has been on my list for a long time, but never worked into a stop during cross country adventures until now. While it's definitely not going to check any boxes off on the whole food plant based lifestyle unless you consider French fries to be a vegetable, it's awesome to have plant based options like this, too, once in awhile and I can't wait to go back. We got the vegan chicken wings, aka Vings. They are formed in house out of soy protein in the shape of a wing/drumstick. None of that weird "wooden stick in a vegan wing" thing here. These tasted and looked authentic. Just be warned there is turmeric or something in the sauce so your fingers might temporarily be yellow, which is ok with me. It comes with your choice of sauces. We couldn't decide on one, so we paid extra to get two sauces and that was a wise choice. Also got the fried oyster mushroom and fries. They have gluten free flour, so gluten free vegans like me can enjoy all their fried deliciousness here. These were very good. We happened to come on the owners birthday and his staff had gotten him an amazing package of gifts that he opened while we were there and did a video of the opening to post on social media. You could tell he has a special relationship with his staff and that comes through in the care for the food.

Grabbed lunch here yesterday since Yelp was hosting an event for Yelpies/Elite Squad. First time I have been to this cool place. Service was awesome. All three young ladies that were working there were very helpful and we're cooking all the different foods that are offered. I wasn't sure what to order so I asked for a recommendation. The nice young lady suggested I order the classic burger with french fries. It was a beyond meat patty and the burger was fully dressed with vegan cheese, onions, tomato, pickles, and mustard. I normally don't have all of that but I wanted to try everything on the burger. The burger was very flavorful, and the texture was pretty good. The bun was cooked very well, and the french fries or seasoned and crispy. I did not eat all the fries. I did save them for later. The restaurant is kind of small and quaint. There are tables inside. There is plenty of parking in the back as the location is located inside of a strip mall on Highland Street. The entrance to the restaurant is on Highland. So you will need to walk to the front to enter. I will return because there are many other items on the menu I would like to try. This restaurant has vegan food only. Everything on the menu sounds very delicious. I will return with friends.

I don't think I will ever eat a beef patty again ! I had my first vegan burger from Plant Based Heat and it's giving 10/10.  Run don't walk !! Plant Based Heat is a black owned vegan restaurant in Memphis, located in East Memphis! The staff was knowledgeable about the menu when asked about it and was willing to offer their favorites off the menu! They suggested the Oyster Mushroom Burger and I added seasoned fries! It did not disappoint. The food was made to order and came out steaming hot. The burger was dripping in flavor ! The fries were cooked to a crisp perfection and seasoned well. My over all taste buds were amplified. It's was a one of a kind experience and I'm now I'm a believer that vegan food can be tasty food! I will be going back to taste other menu items such as the fried cauliflower and the vegan wings.

I'm not plant based, but my friend wanted to try it out, so we popped in. Friendly staff, clean environment, and great food. I opted for mushrooms with an Agave gold sauce, and it was AMAZING! I was very pleased with the various options that fit my palate and appetite I'll definitely try them again.

BBQ Jackfruit Nachos and Fye Junt(Vegan Hot Burger)

I enjoyed the phucccc out of my experience!!!! Excuse my French lmao but this vegan restaurant is the place to be. The employees were very kind and the guy owner is very respectful. Those jackfruit nachos were a hit!!! They were so good I kinda had wished I had ordered another set. But I ordered the burger instead to give it a try. Along with a strawberry cake and freshly squeezed lemonade. This was my very first visit. But if God says the same, then it won't be my last. I will be driving back to Memphis soon... (I'm from Louisiana). Cheers! ;)

10/10 my fiancé who's not vegan and is very picky even loved ALL the food! Very friendly staff and owner :) if you're a vegan or looking into trying plant based alternatives, this place is a must!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant for a Yelp event. The staff was nice and professional, the set-up is trendy. The food is absolutely delicious, yes its plant based, but it is amazing. I hadn't eaten vegan nor plant based food before and it tastes amazing. I'll bring visiting in the future to try different menu items.

Plant Based Heat is a fraud! Fraud I tell you! There's no way this food is vegan. There's no way those were mushrooms I ate. No seriously, absolutely delicious. Im going to make this location a regular for meatless Monday's. Can't wait to try each and every item on the menu! The staff is so kind and the wait is a bit long, but super worth it for food made with love. Do yourself a favor. Vegan or not, give this place a try. Update: yes, I'm back twice in the same week. Yes it's that good. This time got the burger... still not entirely convinced this is vegan food it's soo good y'all just try it

Planning a cross country drive with a stop in Memphis this week? I noticed there's a GF bun on the menu, does that mean there's some options that are GF if you substitute just the bun? (And, sorry anything BUT the burger, I can't eat Beyond Meat).

Yes, you can eat the jackfruit burger, the oyster mushroom burger all my favorite 😍 hope this helps.

It was hands-down the biggest food success we've ever had! Owner, Kristie Jeffrey was a dream to work with: responsive, kind, knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping us. The food exceeded every expectation. We intentionally ordered appetizers from IV for the entire party, (not just the vegans), with small signs that read: "For Everyone: It's Delicious AND Vegan." Even so, guests couldn't believe what they were eating. Meat-eaters and long time vegans kept double-checking with me that the food was truly vegan, and I (happily) spent the night sharing where it came from! Highlights: Dogs N' Blankets were FLAKY! To be clear: that's PASTRY with no butter and still perfect hours later* The potato skins with "bacon" "cheddar" and "sour cream" converted my dairy-loving, bacon and sausage-loving, picky husband, and he ignored the omnivore meals we selected from another caterer. Spinach dip, rice and vegetables were all deeply flavorful and comforting. The lasagna! For decades I've reproduced a vegetarian lasagna I learned from a friend who's a private chef in London, and after tasting IM's, I'm officially retired. The vegetables were rich, savory, and beautifully balanced, with a flavorful sauce that comes from the spices and vegetables themselves. *For anyone considering Imagine Vegan for catering, a small but helpful tip: when you bring home items that lose texture with steam (like pastries or potato skins) take them out of the foil containers immediately. Before guests arrived, we kept the skins and DN'Bs in our warmer (vents open-no moisture - or you can low-heat warm in the oven with the door slightly open) then later popped them on to platters that had been sitting on silicone warming mats. Dishes like lasagna, rice, vegetables, and dips hold beautifully in chafing dishes with steam. Everything we served looked and tasted as though it had just come out of Imagine Vegan's kitchen! Guests have complemented us on the food at our previous parties, but NEVER like this. They were shocked to be enjoying animal-product-free food THIS much, and excited to know that we have truly delicious, TRULY healthier Southern food options right here in Memphis. As a vegetarian, the comments made my day. PUT YOUR FAITH in Kristie and her team. They're all lovely and very professional. Kristie is particularly warm, thoughtful, and provides food that will genuinely impress.

We had a nice little meal here at this casual spot right along the western edge of Beale Street…read more Since we visited on a weekend evening, they had the whole road blocked off, so you had to enter from the north or west side to avoid entering the walkable area which requires you to pay a $5 entry. This entire restaurant is built on a slight slope, and they did not level the foundation when building out the restaurant, so if you're sitting at your table and the table is aligned north to south, you will see a slight lean to the flooring. Also, if you have any juices on your plate of food, the juices will flow toward Beale Street. I wanted to try their tamales but will have to do it on a subsequent visit. This visit we ordered the bowl of gumbo and the Memphis strip steak which is pre-cut for you. The gumbo is slightly salty but good. The strip steak was really good, filling and cooked to order. I chose new potatoes as my one side. Service here can be a little difficult depending how busy they are and how wild your fellow patrons in the restaurant can be. It took a long time to pay the bill here due to a large party coming in right when we were wanting to pay and our server was attending to them for about 15 mins while we were trying to flag him down. Other than that, we had no other problems. I would happily return the next time I'm in the downtown area and looking for food near Beale Street.

We ordered 3 cocktails: Espresso Martini, Bloody Mary, and a Poinsettia. The cranberry juice wasn't available for the poinsettia and they didn't have seltzers, so my friend settled on a Prosecco. I was advised that the Bloody Mary would come with bacon. In the interim, we enjoyed munching on their signature popcorn. However, when it arrived (20 minutes later), it did not have it. I asked the server about it and the bartender quickly rectified the situation and added 3 green olives. My friend that ordered the prosecco thought it was fine. However, the friend that ordered the espresso martini was shocked by the presentation. First it was creamy white in color and the flavor was not quite right. It had an odd twang and not at all reminiscent of a typical espresso martini. My friends ordered the breakfast Mexican pizza and were pleased overall. I ordered the huevos rancheros breakfast hash and it was perfectly portioned and seasoned. Not too spicy and just the right amount of flair. Overall, the food was good, atmosphere was good, service was good, but the drinks were a bit tricky. ***I saved this over my review from over 5 years ago and it looks like we had a tricky time then too

They do have their own lot, and parking was $5 for Genre customers, which was convenient. When I went inside around 4:30, it was pretty quiet--no music or activity--which was a bit surprising since the class was scheduled to start then. Shortly after, a gentleman came up front and let me know the earlier floral class was running over. I was invited to take a seat and given a menu in case I wanted to order while I waited. Ordering is done through a tablet kiosk right by the entrance. I can see how that might be a bit inconvenient if it gets busy, but it seemed to work fine during my visit. I ordered the 1-piece catfish with a side of okra. I was told it would be whole pieces, but it ended up being a large filet--which was still perfectly fine. My food came out in about 15 minutes. The catfish was a great size and fried to perfection--crispy and flavorful. It was served over a bed of okra, which unfortunately was a bit overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. Overall, I'd rate the entrée a 7/10. I skipped ordering a drink since beverages were included with the floral class, and they actually brought me one while I waited, which I appreciated. I also noticed they offer hookah, which adds to the overall vibe. Once the music was turned on, the atmosphere really picked up and felt much more lively. I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu and experience it during a busier time.
