Super cute slippers for sale here as well as yummy food!!

Amazing owners. A hidden jem. Best spring rolls on the Windward side. +Pho is definitely a go to for us as well. So many choices!!! And while you wait, there's a lot of little trinkets for you to peruse. Got my niece a really cute set of earrings and another niece some very cute slippers. Plus a pair for me lol. My favorite dish is the vermicelli with pork and spring rolls. I eat that every week to satisfy my cravings. No picture because we dig in too fast to want to take pics. But trust me, this place is amazing!!

Ordered crispy noodles with chicken and the noodles had mold. Went back and lady at register said she can make another one...seriously! No, thank you! I'll go somewhere else.

A friend and I ate here for the first time today. The lady who served us was very friendly and kind. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp noodle dish with a side of Pho broth, and my friend ordered one of the Beef Pho dishes. Both were incredible! The Pho was complex with layers of spices and aromatics. The Spicy Shrimp had great flavor as well without being too spicy. The addition of fresh mint leaves complimented the dish nicely. We also enjoyed the egg rolls. We tried the iced Thai Tea and iced Thai Coffee, both made in house, and they were delicious! I would return for the drinks alone. All in all, we had a great experience.

My last visit was a bit disappointing unfortunately. Felt somewhat responsible, since I recommended Planet Pho to my two dining partners, who were underimpressed with their menu choices. Hopefully this was an aberration.

It's painful when you have to write a review that had you walk out not wanting to go back anytime soon. How painful do you ask? You need to re-live that horrible experience again when writing this Yelp review. Some friends and I met up for an early celebration to the weekend. I drove from town to Kailua and try new establishments. On our very last fourth food stop, a friend suggested we come to Planet Pho (PP), a Vietnamese/Thai restaurant located just across the street from Walgreens on Oneawa Street. My dining experience at PP was so bad that I don't know where to start. First of all, absolutely poor service. Our server played the role of that middle-aged Asian women barking at customers left and right so well. English clearly wasn't her first language so she came on strong and very curt. 3 of us ordered food and was delivered only 2 napkins. My banh mi was served as a whole sandwich. I needed a knife to cut it in half to prevent the fillings in the generously stuffed sandwich from oozing all over the plate. I asked our waitress for a knife THREE TIMES but only to strike out. Luckily, Auntie (Nadine C.) had a knife in her bag and she lent it to me. Please don't ask me why does she had a knife in her bag. And to set the record straight, most of the friends I hang around with don't carry knives when we go out.....to my knowledge, that is. I found PP to have a very unpleasant ambience. Very dingy. Poor lighting - - very dark. The restaurant lacked a bright atmosphere to welcome customers. Definitely not inviting. This is a restaurant but near the entrance you'll see a large display of costume jewelry and souvenirs. For the food, on the positive note it was a good-sized banh mi sandwich stuffed generously with lemongrass chicken and fresh veggies. After cutting it in half so it was easier to grab and eat, I wasn't impressed with the taste after first bite. You clearly could taste excessive use of MSG. The lemongrass chicken had a cornstarch slurry used to thicken it up. The filling looked substantial but you're basically eating thickened gravy with chunks of chicken and grilled onions. In observing what my friends ordered, they both had vermicelli noodles topped with chopped spring rolls and BBQ pork. The bbq pork and shrimp didn't look like it was cooked on charcoal at all. Seemed like it was baked in the oven - no evidence of charred marks. When glancing at the menu, the prices here at PP seem reasonable but after witnessing and experiencing what I ate, you get what you pay for. They did have quite a few patrons who came while we were there. They appeared to be in the military and seemed to tolerate the subpar customer service and mediocre food. As a townie, I do not see any value in driving to Kailua just to dine here at PP. Better off to eat at much better Vietnamese/Thai restaurants in the town area.

Vietnamese cuisine in Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii... My friends and I were on a foodie outing on the Windward side of the island. Planet Pho was recommended, so, we went to check it out... Located in the corner of a two story building with Frost and a tattoo shop on the ground level, Planet Pho is a cozy hole-in-the-wall shop which sells costume jewelry and Hawaiian souvenirs - besides Vietnamese cuisine. Service could be improved and I felt bad for the lone woman taking orders, delivering meals to the tables, and being cashier, too. For example, my friend wanted a knife to cut his sandwich. As he was asking for the third time, I offered him the knife that I just so happened to have in my bag... LOL! I told him, "I bet I can be faster than that woman!" ...and I was! Haha! I got my favorite dish: grilled pork and spring rolls on vermicelli. It has everything: fresh veggies, fried food, a grilled item, and boiled noodles! I like variety! However, I've tasted better - maybe I needed more sauce - and the pork wasn't the most tender. Hmmm... Spring rolls were just okay. Well, it cured the hunger pains and kept me full for a while! Thanks to Chris and Paul for a wonderful experience!

First time at this Kailua eatery. On entering the the restaurant I thought I was at the wrong place. Jewelry hanging on display racks. The service was friendly and got my order of Pad thai noodles with chicken in short order. Having eaten pad thai at many different places their pad thai was a let down for me. The noodles they used was different and the sauce didn't turn me on. The potion size was large. Ill try something different next time. Stay safe.

My go-to place for Pho in Kailua. see pics of updated menu and pricing. Great for take-out or eating in.

Vermicelli with pork and egg roll

Egg Rolls 10/10 If you liked the egg rolls from Cafe Anasia between 2000-2010, then Planet Pho is your spot to get the same, if not better taste. Planet Pho's egg rolls are crispy with a generous portion of minced pork and glass noodles. The nuoc mam sauce is heavy on the vinegar, which I like. The curry is thin with a heavy taste of cinnamon. The ban mi bread is fresh and soft. I needed to throw it in the toaster to satisfy my tastes. The vermicelli was made fresh and served warm. No peanuts were present, which I missed. The pork had good taste, but didn't have the char I am used to. Overall, Planet Pho is a pricey spot , but well worth it for the quality of food and service.

I'm vegetarian and there was some cross contamination. Also, the vegan pho broth was terrible the two times I tried it.

How lucky was that!? This "minor misfortune" of the long line resulted in my sampling an extraordinary Bahn Mi sandwich. I'll keep this short, and simply share that the lemongrass chicken version of their Bahn, was, as the kids say these days, "FIRE!" . I'm embarrassed to say that I only discovered Bahn mi sandwiches about 3 years ago, but have loved them ever since. The overall experience of chomping down on a typical Bahn mi is that the combination of textures that come from the marriage of "crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside" bread, and the soft flavorful meats and crunchy vegetables is pleasurable. But toss in the flavors that range from savory to tangy to sweet, and then off to spicy, are pretty-much as close to the definition of what a harmonious and complementary meal, that excites the tastebuds, should be. I've probably had 30 of them in my life, and I would say, Saigon Noodle puts one together that just moved into my personal favorite for this blended cultures sandwich. The owner served me, and he's one of those guys who you instantly like. It's hard to put words together to describe why he was so likable and pleasant, but on my visit, his "A-game" of friendliness and charm was on. But, even if he had a "Bahn Mi Nazi" personality, I'd still go for the sam-ich. It was really good!!

Golden Pho is a treasure. This owner-operated restaurant makes you want to come back for more…read more That's not great for me since I'm a townie and Golden Pho is located in Kaneohe. But if I'm on the Windward side, this is my go-to, all the time. They have one of the most extensive menus I've seen in a Vietnamese joint--everything from bahn mi, to udon noodles, to curries, to pho, to noodle soups, to appetizers, to à la carte entrees, to desserts. There is something for everyone and it gives me reason to keep coming back to try different dishes. So far, I had the shrimp udon (but slurped that up so quickly I didn't get a picture), papaya salad, lemongrass tofu vermicelli, and shrimp summer rolls. Hubby enjoyed the Pho, MIL adores the pork udon. Came here on a date, with the MIL, and with friends. Received great service each time and devoured all our dishes with delight. Not one thing to complain about. Also love their variety of sauces available on the table--don't even have to ask! The coffee was delicious too. I had it black and it was rich and smooth, no bitterness at all. And I split the fried banana dessert with friends (avoided the ice cream)...which I should mention I'm pescatarian and I avoid dairy. Love a place where I can enjoy my meal along with the company of my meat-eating, dairy-drinking loved ones. Again, something for everyone. Parking is on the side of the building. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms are very clean. Worth the drive to the 96744 zip code. Will definitely be back soon!

Inside/Outside Seating: Tight seating inside but it felt cozy during the rainstorms we've been having. They also have beautiful outdoor seating too. Definitely a nice homey gem to take someone special. Food: this place is definitely underrated. The vermicelli, pho, stir fried udon, all bangers. Theres only such a handful of super good food on this side and I'm definitely adding it to my list. The food is simple no frills but it tastes like a nice homemade meal with love. I really appreciate that they don't load half of the vermicelli dish with veggies. Instead, they gave us the veggies on the side. Service: Friendly Mom and Pops ran establishment. The owners actually have several other locations in town called "Pho Viet" but each is equally as tasty in my opinion. Overall 4/5 because I've tasted the best of the best and this is close!

Adela's is a small, take-out order only place, but extremely busy. We phoned in the order ahead of time and the wait time was about 45 mins. We got the Sweet Potato Noodles with Garlic Butter and Lechon. Gracious, it was delicious. Worth every penny. The lechon was crispy, tender, and flavorful. The noodles had the perfect texture and paired flawlessly with the garlic butter. We also got Okinawan Sweet Potato Poi Bread, but this unfortunately was blown out of the water by the noodles. She seemed like she was not too fond of tourists at all. To make things worse, there is no indoor seating. Since we were so far from our hotel, we ended up having to eat the food in our car. The food itself had massive highs and lows. The Lechon Pork Belly was amazing and delicious. I wish it had a few more purple onions, but the meat itself was a solid 10/10. However, the Garlic Butter Shrimp was horrible. It was probably the worst I have had in a very long time. The large photos on the actual menu inside the restaurant show large, unpeeled shrimp. What we actually got was small, already-peeled shrimp that tasted more like freezer burn than actual garlic butter. The service issues continued when I picked up the food. I noticed my Coke was missing and asked for it. The lady handing out the food asked the cashier if I had been charged for a soda, and the cashier said no. I know for a fact I paid for it after doing the math myself. There were other people waiting in line behind me, so I just said forget it, took my food, and left. Go for the pork belly, but skip the shrimp, double-check your receipt, and prepare for a cold shoulder at the counter.
