    Low-key, beautiful industrial-themed interiors

True to their tagline, they offer "wine without the drama." Perfect choice if you're looking for a laidback place to have a glass or two with friends. Low-key yet beautiful interiors. The servers do know their wine and are very attentive (AND goodlooking). Their new by-the-bottle menu is really helpful, especially for non-wine connoisseurs like me. They have categories like "Crisp and Refreshing," "Soft and Elegant," and "Powerful and Complex," just to name a few. Then under each category is a wide price range, so you can indulge in whatever craving regardless of your budget. They used to be just a wine bar, but they have now expanded into a full-service restaurant offering comfort food to pair with your chosen spirit. This gives them an edge over competitors like the fancy-schmancy Wine Story or the even more laidback and casual Ralph's. Planet Grapes is comfortably tucked in between.

Don't let the name (and logo and tagline) repel you! This place is not as BADUY as it sounds. In fact, it has just landed a place on my "Tita Nights" go-to list. When I say Tita, I don't mean your good ol' tita, I mean good ol' me. I mean good ol' you. Accept it na, hindi na tayo party girls and boys! Hindi na talaga kaya! Well, good thing wine nights are just as fun. And at least, seated lang and steady. So mature. The interiors of the place add to the relaxed vibe, perfect for large groups craving to really catch up without having to shout into each other's ears and for dates that aren't about pa-cute dancing lang (even if there is hip hop music - you know, just in case kailangan lang talaga). The selection is all wine because this is the planet of grapes after all! Not planet of hops! So get ready to act like you know about white, red and rosé options. If you can't fake it, then ask for suggestions. My default is always Moscato. Or a good glass of Rosé. Pair your choice with their really good homemade truffle potato chips and excellent cheese platter - their goat cheese is intensely the best! Wine and cheese on this planet - enough to turn any ape into a refined human being!

Great wines and great service. My favorite wine spot in Manila. Food is good as well. Staff are very knowledgeable about the wines.

This is perhaps my favorite nook in the entire city…read more I imagine that this is how Marie Antoinette would want her wine cellar to look like, with the bottles lined along the walls all the way to the curvature of the domed ceiling. The lighting is soft, and dramatic, and has the power to invoke both glamor and chill. Everybody just looks good. Now, imagine suddenly being in it, sipping that nice tall glass of bubbly while conversing with your favorite people. This in fact was how I had celebrated my birthday recently and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It is actually a small place with only around 6 tables inside. Their wine selection is extensive enough and of course mostly French, except for the sparkling wines because according to the sommelier, those usually come from Italy. Their prices range from the frighteningly cheap to the threateningly steep, so it's really up to you if you feel like playing el cheapo or mister spender. Also, the deli serves an assortment of baguettes, patés cold cuts and cheeses, albeit limited. You are welcome to put something together to have with your wine, which is exciting for me, but if that's not your thing, there is also a menu of sandwiches and small plates. Also, the pastries and macaroons are something worth sinking your teeth into. It is open 'til the wee hours of the morning which makes me fall in love even more.

They serve as Hotel Rembrandt's bakery and café if I'm not mistaken. Unlike in Cebu, they don't have the alfresco area here in Manila. La Vie Parisienne here is smaller and in an enclosed area. They have nooks surrounded by wine shelves. It's not a bad thing. It feels quite cozy and it is COLD. I almost froze because I came in wearing a short dress. I came here to try their wine. I was expecting a broader selection. I was looking for malbecs or more varieties of merlot and cabernet. I was quite disappointed. They don't really have a lot of choices for the in betweens - it was either really cheap or really expensive. I can't complain though. The prices are really reasonable. My friend and I spent only PHP 1000 for a bottle of wine and two slices of dessert. Good place to bring a date - when you feel like having something fancy but don't want to spend too much. Great value for money. It's worth trying.

For a place that was so busy, surprisingly, it wasn't too noisy and we were able to carry out a conversation. The staff was very attentive, and it seemed like we had multiple people serving us Like most groups, we dined family style. We shared everything that we ordered and every dish was scrumptious. Three of us reside overseas so we were all looking frward to authentic Filipino foods. This place rose to the occasion. The standout was the fish that was filleted and deep-fried, and spread out like a butterfly so it was easy to take a piece off. The fish was cooked perfectly, that is, it wasn't overcooked like most fried fish dishes would be. All of us asked for fresh buko (coconut) juice servied in a whole coconut. However, the coconut was no longer young coconut that usually has soft meat that we can spoon up. instead, it was more "niyog" or mature coconut that needed to be cut up which the staff did for us.

On this visit I had the following items: - Crispy Tadyang - Bamboo Rice The Tadyang (fried short ribs) was incredible - tender, yet crispy and full of flavor. There's a nice portion of beef that arrives in the order, so it's very satisfying. The rice has an interesting flavor profile since it's mixed with spices and shrimp...it's definitely an interesting rice dish you won't find anywhere else. Abe has a huge menu that showcases the diversity in Philippine cuisine. The fact that it includes appetizers, salads, soups, mains, sides and desserts means you'll leave a very satisfied customer. Can't wait for my next visit!
