I went to Planet Grapes for dinner with my Uncle. I had heard about it from my sister and brother-in-law, they told me they ate here a few times while they were on vacation. Planet Grapes is located at Shangri-La Plaza. It's interior is really nice and modern. You order your food on these tablets which is cool. I got a glass of their Paco Garcia red wine from Spain, it tasted pretty good and had great flavor to it. You can order the amount of alcohol you want to, I forgot the exact sizes but it was something like a sip, half glass, full glass or whole bottle. The was pretty cool since they don't really offer those options in the U.S. It makes it convenient if you want to go wine tasting and try out several options. For my meal, I ordered the Zucchini Penne Telephono Pasta. It tasted just alright. My uncle ordered the Fish and Chips and he enjoyed his food. I was a little disappointed at the wine selection at this particular branch because it only has about 16 bottles of wine to choose from. They have each of these wines in a chiller, tapped and ready to pour if you only want a glass. I was also disappointed they didn't have wine flights. As for food, the gambas and chorizo is really good. The lemongrass and gochujang chicken inasal was delicious. The ribs were too sweet for my taste. The ambiance is relaxing, and a good place to go to unwind. Beware that if you sit next to the kitchen, you can smell the smoke coming out from there. read more

Planet Grapes is currently one of the places I'm raving about. We were looking for a Filipino restaurant for around 15 people. We also wanted to take out a few foreigners for dinner. I tried looking around. Based on Planet Grapes' ratings, I suggested them. I was happy everyone else agreed. We went here on a Friday evening. I arrived a lot earlier and hung around first. I got to meet the manager. She was very nice and she conversed with me for a bit. They also didn't pressure me into ordering right away since they knew I was early and I was waiting for everyone else. When everyone arrived we ordered. We were all VERY HAPPY with our food that we just had to pass our dishes around and let everyone else try it. This was my first time to experience a restaurant where everyone was happy with what they ordered. My friend and I also purchased a reloadable card for the wine dispenser. We had a lot of fun trying different kinds of wine together with all the things we ordered. My experience was so good in Planet Grapes that I went back 2 days after and had dinner here with my family. My family absolutely enjoyed their food too. In 2 days, I got to try the following dishes: Chicharon with Tinapa Dip, PG Super Sisig, Chorizo Burger, Beef Tapa, Chicken BBQ, Chicken & Pork Adobo, Organic BBQ Pork Spare Ribs, Organic Pork Chop, Adobo Rice, and their Choco Collision. The Chicharon with Tinapa Dip was very interesting. Who would have thought chicharon went well with a tinapa dip. It was a very good and new twist to your usual chicharon. I enjoyed the Chorizo Burger as it was a very rich and flavorful chorizo patty. It was served with an egg too. I found it to be pretty filling as well. The Chicken BBQ is not your ordinary Filipino-style bbq. It was a bit spicy but the heat was really good with it. I absolutely loved it with the Adobo Rice. The Adobo Rice on its own was absolutely delicious! I even have plans of going to Planet Grapes for Adobo Rice and Wine. Hahahaha! If you want to share a dish, the Organic BBQ Pork Spare Ribs is a good choice. The meat was very tender and it practically fell off the bones. The sauce is rich and has a different impact from your normal bbq sauce. Not sure what they put in it but it's really good. We ordered this with Adobo Rice as well but it completely overpowered the rice. It pairs well with Garlic Rice. The Choco Collision, their version of a choco lava cake, was good. Not too sweet and the gooey chocolate the oozes out was delicious. Each bite I took made me want more! This place really left me raving about it. The food, the adventure of finding wine you like, the service, and the ambiance, all really gave me a very good experience of Planet Grapes. I also absolutely love how they made use of wine bottles for their chandeliers, used the cork for their napkin holders, and the wine bottle bottoms for decor by their bar. read more

True to their tagline, they offer "wine without the drama." Perfect choice if you're looking for a laidback place to have a glass or two with friends. Low-key yet beautiful interiors. The servers do know their wine and are very attentive (AND goodlooking). Their new by-the-bottle menu is really helpful, especially for non-wine connoisseurs like me. They have categories like "Crisp and Refreshing," "Soft and Elegant," and "Powerful and Complex," just to name a few. Then under each category is a wide price range, so you can indulge in whatever craving regardless of your budget. They used to be just a wine bar, but they have now expanded into a full-service restaurant offering comfort food to pair with your chosen spirit. Don't let the name (and logo and tagline) repel you! This place is not as BADUY as it sounds. In fact, it has just landed a place on my "Tita Nights" go-to list. When I say Tita, I don't mean your good ol' tita, I mean good ol' me. I mean good ol' you. Accept it na, hindi na tayo party girls and boys! Hindi na talaga kaya! Well, good thing wine nights are just as fun. And at least, seated lang and steady. So mature. The interiors of the place add to the relaxed vibe, perfect for large groups craving to really catch up without having to shout into each other's ears and for dates that aren't about pa-cute dancing lang (even if there is hip hop music - you know, just in case kailangan lang talaga). The selection is all wine because this is the planet of grapes after all! Not planet of hops! So get ready to act like you know about white, red and rosé options. If you can't fake it, then ask for suggestions. My default is always Moscato. Or a good glass of Rosé. Pair your choice with their really good homemade truffle potato chips and excellent cheese platter - their goat cheese is intensely the best! My dad recently heard that Planet Grapes is no longer just a wine bar but is also now a restaurant! He loves the wine there so he figured he might like the food as well so we made a family day out of it along with checking out a new mall in the area. You'd immediately want to look around once you step in. The interiors are cool and edgy but in a classy way. Like for example, we noticed that the ceiling lights, tissue holders and wall decor were re-purposed from their very own wine bottles which is genius, money-saving and creative in itself. Now for the food! We tried a variety of dishes for a family of 7, like the chicken barbecue (served with a complimentary half glass of wine as a lunch special), organic bbq pork spareribs (with grilled parmesan corn), grilled trio prawns (with onion fritters), organic pork chop (with mashed potato - a favorite!) and black cod steak (with fresh mixed salad). For appetizers, we had siu mai, chicharon with a yummy tinapa dip and squid balls. For dessert, we tried the choco collision and the buko pie bites, both delicious!! And I also tried the red ice tea which was a special house blend and frankly the best red ice tea I've had to date. It doesn't taste artificial at all. As you can see with the photos, the food looks great and the best part is, they taste great too! They're very tasty & taste healthy! The owner is the same one as Healthy Options so they get their produce and such at their organic farm. I can't speak to the authenticity of the cuisine, since this is one of my fist meals in the Philippines, but I can speak to the quality of the food and service. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well plated. The service was prompt and friendly. The wine offerings are set up for those who have little to no wine knowledge which honestly, is a welcome change from the snobbery usually associated with the industry. Looking for a great wine experience in the metro? Then Planet Grapes is totally the way to go. They have a great selection of vintages and vinos from all over the world, with various ages that would tickle your wine loving tongue. Interior wise, it's very posh and offers a cozy feel while you socialize and enjoy a nice drink. What captured me was the menu, as they offer isaws and other finger food that you won't really see on a fancy place as this one. The desserts are also A+, definitely loving their creme brulees as it is nothing short of delicious. They also take pride of having an enomatic machine, which keeps the wines fresh, sealing the flavors once the bottle is open. This gives the visitors a chance to taste a variety of wine before settling to which bottle are they going home with. The name of this place was really interesting it reminds you of the movie Planet of The Apes, it may not be the most attractive title but it's really quite punny. Planet Grapes as the name suggest is a wine lovers dream. My mom is a big wine fan so we decided to give the place a try. Planet Grapes is a wine place first and a restaurant second. During our visit they had just begun offering mains (beforehand they were just serving pika-pika). What's unique about this place is that their dishes are Pinoy! Pinoy food and wine isn't the classic combination you'd immediately think of which is why it intrigues and probably (sadly) turns off some people. The food itself was meh, nothing special, and the portions are quite small, didn't leave full or satisfied at all. I really didn't understand or appreciate the whole pair-your-wine-with-Pinoy-food concept. But I'm still giving this place 4 stars because of their wine selection. They have a huge selection of whites and reds from different countries and with a wide price range. The wine is really really good. Personally, I'd go here just for the wine and maybe skip the meals. read more
