    Chicken and pork adobo
    Deejay D.

This review of Manam is actually the one located at the SM Mall. We stopped in here for lunch. There was a little bit of a wait time but not too long. It seemed like it was a popular place to eat. The place looked clean and fancy and the service was decent. My parents ordered different dishes. My mom was raving about this certain coconut drink. I got this purple ube drink. That purple ube drink was probably the best drink I've had in my life. It had boba at the bottom. I don't know but it was perfect. The taste, the texture, the temperature. You gotta try. I also noticed a few people sitting around us also got the same drink. I also had their pork and chicken adobo. This isn't your normal tradition adobo you make at home. The fancied it up a bit. They sprinkled, what it looked to be, minced garlic on top. The taste was amazing. Right amount of sweetness and saltiness to it. The prices weren't too bad either. Well, if you're comparing it to American prices. I'd eat here all day everyday it was that good. Like I said, the service was decent. It did take a while to receive the check. We had to get their attention several times to get water, the check, and other things. It wasn't the greatest but it was bad. However, the workers were very nice. So if you happen to be in the Philippines and are at the SM Mall, I highly recommend stopping at Manam.

MANAM - It's chicken soup for my soul! Rarely do we go to the same restaurant once a week, but MANAM is one place we never get tired of! Every time of day - brunch, lunch, merienda or dinner, MANAM at Rob's Place is full or almost full. Thankfully, we're such regulars that the staff always finds a table for us! Every MANAM I've been to, which is in almost every mall in Manila or elsewhere is well-lit, modern yet homey, and the staff attentive and efficient. The menu is quite large with pictures looking so appetizing one just feels like ordering everything. What really helps one decide is the three-size option for every dish! We can order 5 or 6 dishes in the small portions without breaking the bank, wonderful fruit shakes and juices and desserts that are soooo good! We always finish our meals with a buko or a calamansi tart! We're leaving Manila soon, and all these we'll miss! Maria DUNCAN Montreal, Quebec CANADA

This was our first sit-down restaurant we ate at after landing in Manila and my partner's family specifically recommended this spot if we wanted authentic Filipino fare. And this spot delivered on all counts. The restaurant is at the end of a gigantic open mall/plaza/shopping center with giant glass panels letting passerbys see the whole ambiance of the restaurant, essentially beckoning people to turn their heads at the super clean, fresh venue inside. The menu is immense with basically the whole cadre of filipino comfort dishes and every dish my girlfriend's family ordered hit the mark. Ube Milkshake w/ Sago: 5/5 probably the best Ube desert/drink I've ever had. Rich, creamy, and the sago was a great texture balance. House Sisig: 5/5 hands-down best sisig I have had as well. crispy as hell and the savoriness of the pork was incredible. I have dreams about this sisig. Watermelon Sinigang: 4/5 sinigang isnt my favorite because I'm not into sourness as much but the watermelon addition that I had never seen before (which I understand might be a regional signature style) was a unique and gave a very balanced sweetness to the sinigang. Bangus Sisig: 5/5 the sisig's here are on another level. Not as crispy as the pork, probably because of it's fat content, but this was still incredibly flavorful and satisfying to eat, especially if you are a fish lover. Gising Gising: 5/5 the surprise dish of the night - never have had or heard of winged green beans (sigarilyas) but I loved the balance of this dish: coconut milk stewed green beans with a nice little spicy kick. Incredible experience that set the bar incredibly high for Filipino food for me moving forward.

Yummy palabok, halo halo. Service is very nice, respectful, yet friendly. If I lived in the Philippines, I'd go back for more!

Service should be improve. Please have empathy. The adobo is not really good. I had to ask the server to reheat the adobo. For the price, it is okay.

Located in the famous PowerPlant Mall, Manam is THE perfect stop for tourists and shoppers to get that authentic Filipino cuisine experience after a day full of shopping! The food was absolutely amazing. Some must try's are their signature Sinigang with Watermelon, a unique twist on the classic Sinigang dish along with their chicken inasal skewers that were grilled and seasoned to perfection. Ambiance was busy given that the restaurant was in the mall, but that was never distracting nor took away from the experience whatsoever. Service was good, all the workers were nice and very attentive! If I could change one thing about the service it would be how they deal with the long wait. We had to wait about an hour for our table and had to sit near the restaurant unless we wanted to forfeit our place in line. I suggest having a system where 5-10 minutes before a party's table is ready that they shoot a text to somebody telling them to start heading over. This would allow customers to continue to shop while still maiming their place in line! Overall, great experience with amazing Filipino cuisine that was elevated to that higher status with their flavor, ingenuity, and presentation. Definitely a must-try if you're shopping at the mall!

We flew into Manila and went immediately out for lunch and noticed this amazing restaurant. We were intrigued by the host who described their watermelon sinigang and had to try it. Suffice to say, I loved it so much I literally dreamed about it and went back two more times. It's a must stop shop for sure.

What we thought was going to be a good dinner, we got here, ordered and our food never came out! They gave us our drinks- and one appetizer and never came to ask us why we were sitting here for over 45 min waiting for our food. Too bad too bec I Love the look of this place. Very modern with a Filipino vibe. The food was amazing! Dishes were bursting with flavor! The only thing is that the ordering sheet they gave us was- the print was way too tiny to read. That was kind of annoying. They only told us we didn't have to check off our order until after the fact.

Ambiance - family style atmosphere. Simple tables and chairs Service - very good; attentive staff, quick service Food - we ordered watermelon sinigang (surprisingly good), gising- gising (sigarillas with coconut milk - never had this before, my new favorite), beef salpicao and garlic ( just ok), fresh lumpiang ubod (good but serving is too small), overloaded chicken and pork adobo (good), kare-kare (very good) and buko shake (so, so good). Our total bill here for six people was equal to our total bill at Gloria Maris (for three people), where we had less food. Needless to say, we got more value for our hard earned money here. Food was very good too.

"Manam" is a play on the Tagalog word for "malinamnam," which can roughly be translated to "savory and delicious." Let me tell you now, this restaurant SERIOUSLY lives up to its name. It's been five years since I've been back in Manila, so I was curious about all the hype around Manam I'd been seeing. There are so many locations, long LONG wait times (up to almost an hour), and most importantly, my local relatives had good things to say about the food. When I finally got to try it, everything made sense, and despite the long wait times this restaurant quickly rocketed up to the top of my favorite places to eat- not only in Manila, but anywhere. The two things that really stand out to me about Manam are 1) their "Classics" vs. "Twists" Menu and 2) the flexibility of their portion sizes! The restaurant offers both traditional Filipino dishes (on the "Classics" side of the menu) in addition to creative twists on those traditional dishes (on the "Twists" side of the menu). For example, while they do have classic sinigang, they also offer their well-known sinigang with beef short rib and watermelon, which is a combination that works surprisingly well. And I LOVE that they offer a small, medium, and large size of almost all of their dishes, so you can scale your order up or down depending on how many people are or are not eating with you. The only real con I noticed was their seriously long wait time. No matter whether I passed by around lunch or dinner, or on a weekday or weekend, there was a long line snaking around the corner. But their efficiency with handling the wait almost cancels it out, since you have the ability to order your food while in line. The order goes ahead to the kitchen, and will more than likely be ready right when a table is ready for you. I HIGHLY recommend the Ube Champorado (twist) and House Crispy Sisig (Classic), but honestly everything I got to try was incredibly delicious. TLDR; love that they offer traditional Filipino food AND thoughtful twists on those classics. You can customize your portion size. And the wait is crazy but they're pretty efficient with it. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 5/5 - Service: 5/5

I ordered the small Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon because I was curious. I had high expectations but was disappointed -- there's nothing special about it. My husband ordered the medium Overloaded Garlicky Chicken and Pork Belly Adobo. He said it was okay, but it's all bone. Lol. So if you're a foreigner who likes meat, this is not for you. I do love their Mango + Pomelo + Sago and Mango with Binagoongan though!

The place wasn't as grand as Coffee Empire but it's just apt for a coffee place. Oh they have this bell per table that you can ring when you need their service. I thought it was fancy. Haha. So I tried the V60 Ethiopian Yirgacheffe *high fives for the spelling!* which the barista said had a hint of red cherry in it. I couldn't distinguish that particular taste tho. But I loved the coffee! It was fine, smooth, and light and it looked kinda reddish black in light. So we ordered Wimpy's (open faced burger in gravy and cheese sauce) and it was a delight! Also had the Tiramisu which was super small but it was neat and just the right sweetness. Not fan of their frappes/cold drinks tho. We had the Mocha Java Drink and the Barista's Secret (which was like white chocolate). I found them very smooth. I prefer a rough-textured frappe and well, I haven't had a frappe in a month so maybe my judgment was not good. Anyway, hot coffee here is better. :) I think the prices for coffee was just right but I guess the other stuff in their menu was highly overpriced.
