Their food taste great, we ordered so many that we wnded up having to take out some of which was barely eaten only to find out 2 out of 6 were left behind when when we get home to put them in the ref that's when we found out they did not put them all there. The palabok was insanely delicious! The servers are very attentive and friendly and work with you very well. The sisig was gone in 2 seconds very flavorful! I liked how well they were accommodating for parties bigger than 10 ppl! I would 10/10 come back! read more

Let's just say I ate here three times in my eight day stay in the Philippines LOL. I had the champorado (chocolate rice), my favorite!!! I also had tortang talong, reminds me of how my aunts make it... yum!! And the garlic rice, (could never go wrong) I had kare-kare, of course!!! And fresh lumpia! Everything I wanted to order, I ordered LOL.. all delicious! I also had their pandan shake, yummmmmm! Everything I had at Manam was delicious, and will definitely come back here when I return to the Philippines. Lunchtime gets pretty busy, but they try their best to get everyone seated quickly. There's nothing wrong with adding a fun twist and reinventing a dish you grew up with. Classics like green mango with bagoong, corned beef stew and the ubiquitous garlic rice is a must order. Their sisig is definitely not traditional but all the crispy pig parts are there and it's very delicious. Also, try one of their many refreshing shakes. Service was fairly decent for our group of 10, with 2 kids and a baby. This place gets busy, so make sure to get here early and that your group is complete or you won't get seated. read more

This is for the BGC location, but we've also eaten at the one in Makati. Manam's tag line is "Philippine comfort food," and it's pretty good. It is a clean place, bright, with high ceilings, decor kinda nondescript but not sterile per se. It was crowded, service was decent. The food is good, definitely authentic Filipino but not hole-in-the wall if that makes sense. This would be a place I would take visitors to try Filipino food. We had a lot of food I don't remember everything. Their famous sisig was good, and it was crispy as advertised but as I personal preference only I don't like sisig super crispy. The food was great! Really love their mango pomelo sago and the chicken wings. The ambiance is a bit loud and can feel tight since there are so many people. I brought my family and there was 15 of us. I like how you can select the order size between small, medium and large. Last year, I found myself celebrating Thanksgiving in the Philippines. Most of my family flew to Manila. In between the traffic, we took some time to explore the amazing food and culture this city had to offer. I think I was told that "Manam" translates to "eat" in Visayan, a Philippine language. I don't speak the language and at that moment in time, I was more interested in the taste of the food than in a language lesson. No matter the language, the food was mmm, mmm good. Manam serves classic Filipino comfort food with a twist. Some twists were more successful than others. The mango salad was very refreshing with shredded mango, sweet-tart pomelo, red onion, fermented shrimp paste, fish flakes, and peanuts. I could have eaten it as an entree salad with the addition of some prawns or chicken. Very reminiscent of Thai papaya salad. I loved the spectacular presentation of the flying fish. This was a tilapia partially filleted with the fillets still connected to the head. The whole fish was then fried, bones and all. When cooked, the fillets curled away from the spine, forming "wings." And voila, flying fish. The beef ribs tasted it had a teriyaki or bulgogi type seasoning. The sweet taste was fine but the meat was a bit dry and stringy, almost but not quite jerky. I think they fried rather than braised the ribs. The pasta dish looked impressive. A heaping mound of fried puffed noodles and electric orange sauce was tossed tableside by the server. The noodles shrank and gained heft as they absorbed the sauce. Unfortunately, I think the presentation overwhelmed and was not backed by taste. The sauce coated the noodles unevenly and some of the noodles remained hard. This dish tasted better the longer the noodles sat in the sauce but it was my least favorite dish. We tried two drinks. One was made with ube, a purple yam that made the drink a pretty pastel purple. The second was pastel green and made with pandan leaves. I think the purple shake had sago pearls. Both sweet drinks were more like smoothies and probably more appropriate for dessert. Nevertheless, both were very yummy. For dessert we had 2 types of rice cakes. One was more cakey. It was cooked in a clay pot lined with banana leaves over an open fire. A salted egg is usually baked in the batter. The cake is finished with a brush of melted butter and sprinkled with shredded cheese and coconut before serving. The combination of salty sweet along with a slightly charred taste from the fire was epic. The second dessert was made with sticky rice and more of the purple yam. The purple was so deep the rice looked black. The rice was topped with brown sugar, cheese, coconut and brown butter. So yummy. I confess to overeating. Overall, everything was delicious. Even my least favorite dishes were errors more in technique than flavor. I definitely want to return and explore the rest of the menu if I ever find myself back in the Philippines. read more

Absolutely loved the chicken wings - they were flavorful and had a wonderfully crunchy exterior that gave way easily to the tender meat inside. The chicken inasal ordered was bland and overdone, but they still won me over with the bangus sisig and the all day batchoy that were excellent. The server brought the bowl of batchoy noodles but had us looking for the soup. He returned briefly after with a carafe and asked "looking for this?" while he poured a beautiful, steaming hot broth. He kept the broth full until the soup was gone. And every drop was gone--it was THAT good. Save room for dessert because I hear that the menu's delicious. Being my first time to the Philippines I asked my friends on what to try, and Manam was one of the highly recommended places for traditional Filipino food. Swung by here twice, the first time line for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the Tapsilog and Sisig which are sliced beef with egg and garlic rice, and a crispy fried pork dish. Both were super flavorful and tasty, I enjoyed the unique house sauce mixed with the Sisig as well. The next time I went with my colleagues and we ordered an assortment of plates including the chicharon bulaklak, bone marrow kansi, sisig, the chicken and pork garlic adobo, and the halo halo dessert. The appetizers are really delicious paired with a beer, and everything tasted great with garlic rice. The halo halo reminds me of Vietnamese bean and coconut milk based desserts with an added scoop of ice cream (ube/purple yam in our case). I knew this was a good pick when Filipino friends recommended it, and the majority of folks inside are locals. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already! read more
