Tipsy's Crispy Pata. One of the best!
Miguel L.

We brought our entire family here with high hopes for a unique and memorable dining experience. Long review short, it was a fantastic establishment. The service is prompt and polite. The decor is clean and combines modern and rustic design which contributes nicely to the ambiance while dining. Now on to the "meat" of the review (pun intended, of course). "Belly Good" Sisig Tacos: I have to start with their number 1 best seller. If you're a fan of everything pork then this is the dish you want. Creamy and tender sisig topped with a perfectly crispy chicharon pairs for a great dichotomy of textures that melds into a delicious pork medley. The sauce it comes with only elevates and brings out the flavor of the dish. Being from Texas, we KNOW our pork and this is one of the best interpretations of the meat I've had. My only suggested area of improvement would be the tortillas, which were average. Once again, this comes from my upbringing in Texas which has a heavy Mexican influence and doesn't really take away from the entirety of one superlative dish. Tipsy's Boneless Crispy Pata: Having eaten Crispy Pata for most of my life I must say that Tipsy's fresh interpretation of a classic Filipino dish is a pleasant and flavorful one. The crispy and tender pork literally falls off of the bone. It's covered with fried garlic chips and an Asian soy sauce. This dish paired with one of the sauces, my personal favorite the hoisin, and one can understand why it is one of the top crispy Pata dishes around. Kesong Poutine, Tipsy Salpicao, Beer Can Chicken, the "Dirty Mexicana" Nachos, and the Freshly Baked Mussels just add to an already solid offering. The signature cocktail is the Saint Jared which has Captain Morgan Rum, Banana Liquor, Pineapple and Orange juice. The sweet refreshing crispness of the drink adds a tropical flair to the savory meal. If you're in the mood for a more warming drink then I would recommend their salted caramel martini which is made with Absolut Vanilia. Finally, I have to mention that while we were dining here President Aquino made an appearance at this establishment. What better endorsement could you ask for? The star of this show is, obviously, the pork and drinks and that star shines very brightly.

Great place! Firstly, servers were very attentive and friendly. Even though the place got crowded later in the night, the quality of their service never dwindled. I could also tell that they've built a good rapport with most of their regular customers. Hope to be one of those soon! Haha! Their food was delicious. The Triple Chop was surprising. It was three large pieces of pork chop for only around Php400. It was definitely a deal! The music got a little too loud around 10pm that it became hard for me and my friends to talk to each other. I suggest getting seats away from their large speakers. Don't miss out on this amazing place! Happy Hour is from Sundays thru Thursdays 5-8pm. Buy one take one on local beers. Oh, and don't forget to reserve a table!

I'm not sure why the establishment is named that way but it gets your attention, doesn't it? Being in my late 20s, I wasn't all that interested in hitting this place to down a few beers and get drunk or anything like that. On the contrary, these days, I tend to focus on the food and maybe have one drink afterwards. I can't comment on the Jack Coke I had as that pretty much tastes the same wherever one goes, right? But what I did fancy was the delectable Bar Chow that Tipsy Pig offers. From the Dirty Mexicana (nachos with the works on top) to the Number 4 (four cheese pizza), it's plain to see that a lot of thought has been put into the establishment's menu. Come by and try it for yourself.

Meat, glorious meat.

One of the hottest (or coolest, depending on your preferred slang) places in Ortigas' Capitol Commons district, Tipsy Pig is usually full at night, when it transforms into a hip bar that happens to serve good food. During the day, though, the food is definitely the highlight and for good reason. The dishes, while on the pricey side, are both delicious and sizable (although not usually big enough for sharing, unless you're a very light eater). The drink selection is nothing to sneeze at either, with various cocktails making an appearance together with the usual suspects of the Manila drinking scene. Tipsy Pig is very chill during the day, and you aren't likely to have a problem getting a seat for lunch. At night, however, the situation is very different. Come at the wrong time and you may not even get a seat without waiting a while. Celebrity spotting is very much possible here. Parking isn't a problem during the day, but the reverse is possible at night. Smoking is acceptable outdoors.

When your drink is so big it casts a shadow on your table, then it's definitely a Friday!

This bar and kitchen in Pasig is a popular choice for groups looking to wait out weeknight traffic, or weekday warriors looking for late night drinks. The food is better than your average bar chow. The well-seasoned fare could be considered for a date out though the atmosphere and serving sizes are more suitable for your barkada than your girlfriend. The Boneless Crispy Pata and the Pulled Pork BBQ Pizza are both crowd-pleasers. (The Beer Can Chicken looks great for Instagram though it isn't the tastiest option on the menu.) Tipsy Pig's relatively complete bar list will satisfy most alcoholic cravings and also includes some original cocktails if you are looking for a change of pace. If you're going with a group of 5 or more, you'll probably want to call ahead for a table - we prefer the al fresco dining in the back. Monday night has a solid selection of classic R&B and Hip Hop throwbacks - and two for one beer during Happy Hour. Capitol Commons parking tends to fill up quickly during busy hours so find a spot at Estancia Mall for a short walk.

If you work around the Kapitolyo/ Oranbo/ Ortigas center, you know what I'm talking about. You can start with dinner from their long menu of comfort gourmet food. The truffle fries and Angus basil meatballs are sure to get wiped clean from the table. The burgers are good, too, but when I'm out with big groups, we go straight for the pizzas: salami and arugula, truffle, 3-cheese (Mozzarella, gruyere, Gorgonzola). Things get rowdy at around 9 or 10 p.m., and smoking is allowed inside at that time. There's an outdoor lounge, too, if you prefer to chat because the music can get really loud inside.
