Staff are always nice. I appreciate that more machines have been added and upgraded, especially the stairmasters! Machines are constantly breaking down unfortunately. Perhaps due to user error? I also wish they would update the bathrooms, would be nice do have showers with doors like other PF locations. This place has problems left and right! First of all, the power always goes out, or the cash register goes down! How many times does this have to happen before something is done about it? Also, lifting weights here is a hassle because people are always hogging the benches using their phones, and then not putting the weights back! They need to get stricter about this issue! read more

I have tried to cancel got over a month do to my schedule I haven't been able to meet the manager cause there policy , I tried doing it over the phone but they refused in person but manager not ever available . I Enjoy this gym because you can walk in and there is no judgement. and totally not a pickup stop like 24 hours. the only thing I can say is I will not go on Pizza days because I don't have the will power. Nicely sized basic gym but crowded. I enjoy PF for their cleanliness, locations, and ease of parking. This PF was no different. The layout of this PF was in line with most other PF locations- 30 min workout area, stretching and abs area, black card area, cardio, free weights, locker rooms, and weight machines. A row of televisions hung from the ceiling in front of the cardio machines. Everything seemed clean and in good working order. Although there is a ton of cardio equipment, like most of the other PFs, there were only 4 stepmills that were occupied during most of my visit. I also noticed they did not have an Olympic bench press. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unlike most other big chain gyms staff were constantly on the move checking on equipment and/or cleaning. They don't leave all the cleaning for the cleaning crew. For me, that's what separates PF from the other chain gyms. Kudos to PF on hiring hardworking staff! read more

I'm honestly fed up with Planet Fitnedd and it sucks because I don't have any other choice than this during my travels because this gym is available nationwide. The issue with this gym is the lack of free weights and an abundance of machines, ellipticals. Also, this specific gym didn't even have kettle bells and medicine balls, that's definitely not cool. This gym is designed for beginners, and probably not best for someone looking for weight training, strength training. It's just really annoying. Also the gym isn't in top shape. Most PF I gone to are not well maintained. The bathrooms are gross and the machines are gross too, and at times atleast one machine is broken. read more

I feel safe at this location . Day is my preference its always nice and clean and the staff is always greeting everyone who enters and exit. I have never had any bad experience here . I come work out , burn my calories and mind my business. If you're looking for a gym not to big and clean this is the location for you . I quit my membership today. I had to pay a 58 dollar buy out free but it was worth it. There wasn't one time i came in here where something wasn't broken. Either a sink,toilet or shower is out of commission on any given day. Many times the machines are in need of maintenance or are simple broken and not useable. The staff is friendly and the facilities are usually clean but when head to the restroom i can promise you something isn't working. Read the fine print before you sign. It might seem cheap at first but they have a maintenance charge and yearly additional fees not included with the monthly. read more

This Planet Fitness is several steps below the other locations. They even charge for eye protection for the Total Body Enhancement machine, when no other PF I've been to does. Black Spa equipment seems outdated with many annoying glitches. There's another PF nearby I highly recommend. read more

I never have a problem with the morning people they're always welcoming and friendly the night people or afternoon are always rude always look annoyed they even have the scan thing just there so u can do it yourself while they stand there and TALK their shift away there's never paper to wipe it's literally 2-3 people but no one can put new paper I do see at 10 a guy comes in and is alone well he's friendly I don't have a problem with him he always says hi etc I just feel like if you're not happy with your job then go somewhere else the vibe is so negative I really hope a manager or supervisor checks cameras or messages me back & I will gladly give them info of those girls / guy I don't know the names but I will gladly let u know . This is my go to Planet Fitness when I'm out in LA for work. Overall, it's a good location. In the evenings, it is extremely busy. Sometimes you can't find open equipment because its so busy. This morning though, I went in and counted about 5 treadmills that were out of service. I'm not sure how long they've been out of service or if they have a work order placed to get them fixed, but this definitely puts you in a bind when you want to work out but there's no machines available. On the upside, the location is always clean and the employees walk around filling up the spray bottles and dusting off the equipment constantly. read more

I have been coming here on and off for the past 4 years. Note that the basic membership requires you to pay $39 a year in addition to the $10/month charge so that's an average of $13.25/month. For the most part, there's at least two of all the weight lifting machines. Pretty much the the squat/bench press racks are always taken. Weekends are the best time to come because there is very little people. The new general manager, Bryan, is very committed to the PF commitment of making people feel welcome. One of the issues is that too many people will not re-rack weights during the busy times (4-6pm on weekdays). I'd say that my biggest issue is that the machines are catered to casuals like myself. Pretty much all the machines are only raised in increments of 10 lbs. Note that other Planet Fitnesses will have a way to raise the weight by 2.5lbs and even 24 Hour Fitness has 5lb increments. read more

Been a member since before their opening and they have helped me reach my fitness goals and maintain an overall health at an affordable price. I upgraded to the black membership and enjoy the massage charge and tanning station/s. They are conveniently close to home and open 24/7 and modified hours during holidays (no big deal). They are always friendly, always cleaning always attentive and welcoming. They are busy but if you have a plan and work out regimen then you can get in a good workout. They have a lot of cardio machines and push machines as well as a few cable pull machines. read more

You'll also see a few RVs parked in the lot, non use of gym, but the RV owners would use the toilet, shower and bathroom without using the gym. It's all about the membership sign ups, not the quality of the gym. "New year, new me" starts with your own attitude, you're not the only one in this gym, common courtesy. I use this gym in the wee small hours of the morning, hopefully when no one is there. 10 a month, what can your 10 bucks expect except the worst of people. Many gym memberships are overpriced and require you to commit for a year or two. And when there is no commitment plan, start up fee is really high. However, this place is only $10 a month. Start up fee another $10. I went around 10 am; it was pretty empty. All the equipment is purple which is kinda weird to me. The service is nice, although they did not give me a tour of the place like I thought they would. I did get a free shirt and bag though. So far, all the equipment is working. The bathrooms are clean. Locker rooms present. There are water fountains. I really wish there was a scale so I can weigh myself. The people here are pretty diverse in race and age. For the most part, people do wipe down the equipment. Not all... but from what I observed, at least more than 60% of the people. There was no nasty smell... thank goodness. This is a great gym!!! I loved the NO HASSLE sign up on line. It took all of 10 minutes. The staff is really nice and helpful, and they're open 24 hrs!! I highly recommend that you get there before 4:30 pm, or after 9 pm (M-F), or early Saturday mornings because the place gets packed fast. Sundays are good to, because most folks go to church, or just use it as a rest day. No major complaints. I'm very happy this place opened up, because it stopped me from being an everyday couch potato, and got me on the path of a lifestyle change to being fit and healthy. read more

I am having the workout of my life with trainer, Juan, at my age. Not a day I trained with him without breaking a sweat. Different training sets, brings difference in my body sculpture, weight and wellness. Juan is understanding and very a very effective trainer. I look forward to coming to the gym with hopes of getting that efficiency in my workouts. He has helped me curve my constant fatigue, to an energetic body. I can't trade that with anything. Upset at the place, employees are slacking. So much that they're using the facility. I'm a black card member and my partner couldn't use the other bed because someone was using it for his break time. When I left he still had 8 minutes left on the machine plus the 5 we had spent at the same time. Members only get 5 minute Max a day. I was like no toilet paper fine, I'll let this pass but the employee using the hydra message that seem like too much. I pay extra for the extra uses of the gym. :/ read more

I been to several planet fitnesses, and they are all the same, they have people hogging the equipment and watching videos on their phone and talking on the phone and not actually working out. Then their is not pool, no sauna no steam room, no basketball court, very few selections of weights and it's just a cheap gym to go to if your broke and can't afford a real gym like 24 hour fitness. I have been a member of 24 hour fitness for over 10 years and have never been let down, yes i pay 29.99 a month but it'a worth it, and I can go to any club I want 24 hours a day, unlike plant fitness. I only started to try this place out because my bro Eddy comes here because it's close to his house but I wasn't to impress with these gyms at all. I'm going to stick to my 24 hour fitness and be happy their. Btw the bathrooms at every plant fitness I been to smelled bad and never had TP or paper towels. read more

I usually go to the Torrance Planet Fitness but this one is closer to my house and I like it primarily bc around the times I go during the week, its not crowded( 830am-10am). I'm not sure about the after work hours or weekend but the mornings are good. This facility is clean and they are constantly cleaning which is awesome. All of the machines work for the most part, I encountered one machine that didn't but it was okay. I enjoy my workouts and the atmosphere and ill probably keep coming to this one unless I'm in torrance. read more

The first few times I went here I had no problems but tonight the crew here is terrible. First I come in with this lame dude that kept flirting with the new recruits. I tried to get a massage and all I got was a point and some attitude. Whatever dude. Good luck trying to keep your job much longer you Corbin Bleu wanna be looking ass. I blew off some steam and came back to get my massage. The two girls that were there seemed friendly enough but no. Same thing. They were too busy flirting with the dudes at the counter. Transferred here from Torrance but then the unmotivated staff pointed out that only Black card members can go to this gym, which made me scrunch my face in confusion since at the time of the Transfer nothing in their site told me otherwise. Then they said you can't transfer again unless you've been going to a PF gym for 90 days. The front desk staff were completely unhelpful and sported a blank "dead fish" expressions the 3 times I tried to ask for help in transferring. They just kept saying that since PF is a franchise that they can't do anything. Even if that were true then still teach your staff to be helpful in other ways or at least don't treat your customers badly. I felt sorry for an older gentleman before me since he got the "dead fish" style of "helping". Had to reapply and pay their sign up fees again at the Torrance location. Middle of nowhere location, staff is unmotivated, they told me only Black card ($20) members can come there which is a negligible compared to their $10 members but at least tell me before I transferred. Like other PF gyms, they are relatively clean, the machines are passable, plenty of parking and staff needs serious customer relations training. read more

Great location to come for cardio machines. Everything from treadmills, bikes to all sorts of different variations of elliptical machines. Today was arm and abs day and I started with some cardio, did plenty of arm workouts and when I got to abs.....I only saw a few machines. The variations of the machines I found for crunches etc just didn't work for me. Not all parts of machines are meant to move. For instance the crunch machine that you lay down on your back to operate has you sticking your legs between 2 rollers where everytime you do a single crunch, your legs roll back and forth on the rollers. Wish it was just stationary. A few other machines I just didn't feel comfortable working so only arms got a workout today. As for little things, there is no Wi-Fi available like the Lakewood location has and I had no service the entire time and I have Verizon...guess that's as problem I should be taking up with VZ tho huh? Lol Very clean gym, staff was nice and able to answer my questions for me. I'm still not sold on the membership yet so I guess I'll continue to visit with my aunt as her guest for FREE!! read more

I got a yearly memebership here back in 2018. It was overall a good gym, the staff was nice for the most part here and it was a convenient spot for me to work out at the time. It's a cheaper gym so there was more creeps there and would literally won't stop staring but that's fine - I just don't bother to acknowledge them. I started going to the PF location in Torrance when I moved there and my work was closer to that location and I liked that gym more as it had less creeps and younger people that actually came there to work out. I definitely went during the busy hours but never had much of a problem with the machines. Only the really weird parts is that they offer pizza days and bagel days? That's the total opposite of promoting good health and fitness. Anyway, the main reason why I am posting this review is when I had to cancel my membership at this Carson location. The first time I went, the staff was nice and told me to come a few more weeks later so I don't have to pay for the cancellation fee (~$60) so props to her for being cool and noticed that my year wasn't up yet. So, I came a few weeks later, the day after my yearly membership ended and before the date I knew I'd get billed again and I came across a staff member who wasn't nice at all. I said I was going to cancel my membership and without looking at my profile details she straight up said I have to pay for the cancellation fee. Nope. I told her that my year was up as of the day before and I'm here cancelling before the next billing period came. She looked pretty annoyed after that but then actually looked at my profile and realized I was right. I filled out my cancellation paper and made sure with her I won't be billed anymore and she smugly reassured me. I left feeling relieved I won't be a part of this gym brand anymore. I got what I paid for but nice try on getting me to pay up for a fee that I obviously didn't need to pay for. read more
