I started at the Camp around with the 21-day transformation program back in August 2025. I was looking for a program or gym that accommodated my schedule and in close proximity to my house (due to work and other obligations). The Camp is a fun boot-camp like work out (with plenty of weights) that is ran by personal trainers. They also have special programs that you can opt in to be trained personally by a trainer. All of the classes (the classes are unlimited) and trainers that I have encountered so far have been fun and encouraging. The things that keep me motivated are the great playlist that are motivating and the different and challenging set-ups that the trainers come up with for us. read more

So I came in just to try it out today and ended up signing up right after. That should tell you something. The space is dope--it's in this big dome, open and full of equipment. The workouts are all instructor-led, which kept me focused and moving the whole time (no guessing what to do next or slacking off). I've been trying to lose weight on my own at home, and honestly... this just works better. No crowding, no ego, just a chill environment with real results if you show up and do the work. The Carson Camp has been my home for the last 8 years. Recently the camp has gone into new management and the place has turned around tremendously. It's even better than when I began . The owner and her staff are nice and professional and really care about the members . There has been lots of changes in addition to the management. My Transformation Story I am grateful for who I see in the mirror, again. That's largely due to the work that I have and continue to put in at the Camp Transformation Center - Carson. I have ALWAYS struggled with my weight. Growing up, it felt like EVERYTHING I did or wanted to do would ALWAYS circle back around to my weight. So much so that I had a surgery for my weight in 1997 that LITERALLY almost killed me. I had to have the procedure reversed in 1998. My husband passed away from male breast cancer in 2013. My weight soared to 207 pounds. I joined Weight Watchers in 2013 and lost 47 pounds, hitting my goal weight. Then, in 2017, my daddy was diagnosed with blood cancer. When he passed in 2018, yep, you guessed it, the weight returned. In 2022, I made an appointment to Sonobello because I was so defeated and desperate!!! God TOTALLY blocked that procedure. In May 2023, I celebrated my 55th birthday. I decided it was time for me to stop playing and to start concentrating on MY health, so I joined the Camp Transformation Center - Carson. Currently, I'm caregiving for my momma, who is on hospice with pancreatic cancer. THIS time, I have chosen to place my self-care HIGHER on the totem pole. I take one hour out of the day to go to the gym for ME!! The atmosphere at the gym can simply be described as "family." The coaches and the members are non-judgmental and push me just enough for me to realize that I can do anything I set my mind to! Today, I am down 27 pounds!! This is the first weight loss challenge I have ever participated in. I didn't know what to expect when first entering this challenge, but as the weeks passed, I gained a better view on eating healthier. I changed my nutrition plan and implemented daily exercises in addition to attending the workout sessions with the coaches at The Camp. I really appreciated the coaches guidance in the classes. If I was doing an exercise incorrectly, I was told by a coach how to correct my posture, avoid getting hurt, and best workout a body part. Due to Covid (and an injury) I gained almost 30 pounds during 2020. I looked at myself in the mirror and was not happy with what I saw. I heard that the camp had reopened and this was my opportunity to take control of my weight and my life once again (as I'm normally an active person). Continuing through to a 2nd challenge was a humbling experience. I learned that no matter the outcome, that my accomplishment is still something to be proud of. 12 weeks ago, I started this journey with the feeling of hopelessness and disappointment. I didn't like how I looked and refused to be in photos. To this day, I am still getting used to feeling confident and taking more photos now. If u haven't noticed, I have a tendency of still hiding in the back of others. Lol I will hopefully grow out of that eventually. What can i say about this camp??? Hmmm.. let me start off with FTDI!!! If you are really dedicated, the camp will help you shred all the pounds you need to lose. I came in and talked to Sofia and she told me to jump in the challenge and I did! With no energy and not much of perseverance I did my first work out on the day I singed up. I was really doubting myself that I cant hit my weight goal but Mariah and Bristy believe in me and convinced me to keep on going and so I did. And on my first week I lost 5.8lbs and from there on i was more dedicated in hitting my goal. The trainers are very helpful they would push you to keep going but not to the point where you feel pressured. Im just so thankful that I found this camp because if not i would be attending a wedding not looking my best and in 6 weeks i lost a total of 24lbs. I And i am beyond happy with the results. I joined The Camp Transformation Center in Carson 6 weeks ago for the "Lose 20 lbs in 6 weeks" challenge and I am super happy to report that I lost a little over 21 lbs in that short amount of time. Now, the weight doesn't magically disappear just because you join a gym. The weight came off because I worked my butt off and woke up at 5:30am Monday-Friday for 6 weeks and made sure everything I was eating was according to the rules in the FTDI handbook. If you're reading reviews to research and see if this program is legit, I'm telling you it's totally legit. The program works and if you have 20 lbs to lose, you will lose it BUT only if you have the dedication and determination to follow this challenge through. The only downside of The Camp is that you don't get your money back just from doing a challenge and losing the 20 lbs to jumpstart your weight loss journey. You roll over into another challenge if you're not at your "goal weight" which is determined by your height. BUT the part that I did not know about when I first signed on is that there is a break between your first and second challenge. Thankfully, they do allow you to continue to come in to work out during that break until the second challenge starts but I think the fear is that you might take a "break" and add some lbs before the next challenge which means you have to lose those extra lbs on top of the 20. Frankly, results speak for themselves when the work is done. I am just about to finish the 6 week hard body challenge and it's been a learning experience. I've worked out before but never this disciplined. I like that the tools to succeed are given. It gave me somewhere to start and as the weeks came, I tailored it to what best fit me. There is a lot more food with the hard body challenge but it actually feels less as the weeks go on. I don't have the stress of figuring out what to eat everyday, so I really appreciate that. I put a crap ton of herbs and spices which help me enjoy my food even more. I don't feel bloated or heavy. I have so much energy when working out and I can tell the difference when I don't each every two hours or so. If you're on Yelp to help you decide whether you should join a challenge or become a member...ask yourself, what are you willing to do to get what you want? The Camp will help you with your goal, it will not give it to you! If 6 weeks is too much of a commitment, they have 21 day programs that are inexpensive that helped me jump start getting fit again. read more

5 years later I decided to go back and do another challenge because "life happened." I lost track of my weight. Although it was harder for me than most, since I had just had emergency surgery days before the challenge started, I didn't think I stood a chance in giving it my all to drop 20 lbs. I beat the odds and was able to drop 23.8lbs in a matter of 6 weeks. All weigh-ins were exciting until I hit my 5th weeks and slacking off showed on the scale. I was able to get it together and drop the last 3.4lbs and more, that I needed to reach the 20lb mark. Although my personal goal was 30lbs in 6 weeks I'll gladly take 23. One thing I wish would have been different was having my questions answered or routed to the right person instead of figuring it own on my own after getting a simple "I don't know response." Which is intimidating as a new challenger, being a rollover challenger I don't see it being an issue now. The trainers are all helpful and will get you out of your comfort zone. They all have their unique styles . I was challenged and I knew I could do more but was scared to hurt my surgery wound . I came to the Transformation Camp after friends from other branches raved about how great it was. They also gave me a call inviting me to check out their location, as I have put in an inquiry of interest earlier this year. Unfortunately, my experience with the woman at the front was extremely off-putting. I was sad to learn that the woman at the front is actually the manager, Krista. I approached the desk, greeted her and shared I was scheduled to be there at 5:30 pm to check out their class set-up in the parking lot. She responds "....ok?" Which felt odd, but I continued talking. I then add that I received a call from a staff member and was here to check it out, as I was interested in participating in the 21 day challenge. She then asked me if I have been there before, in which I shared I have as a visitor to see the set-up pre-Covid, but I have never taken a class and came because I wanted to see the new "Covid" set-up. She responds "Well, the class inside here is the same as what's out there." Which was confusing to me..the whole reason I came in person was to SEE the in-person "Covid set up." That's the whole reason I made an appointment. I shared that I was still interested in checking out the class and seeing it in person (let me add that the parking lot is not attached to the building at this location, you have to cross a main road). She responded "Go right ahead." Also off-putting..she wasn't going to come with me? How awkward is it to walk up to a workout class by yourself and linger? I was like "So just like..walk up and watch?" She goes "Yup." I then ask if there was a closer crosswalk because as I mentioned, it was a main road, she shared there wasn't and I can just walk across (aka, encouraging me to jay walk....on a main, busy road). I told her I wasn't going to do that. I ended up not checking out the class because my experience with her was so off putting. Ultimately, she was rude, was clearly not interested in having me sign up, didn't ask if I had any questions, just gave me a really rushed summary about what they do and had no intention in showing me the class at all or escorting me (socially distanced) to the parking lot to show me what they're all about. She also had her mask on but below her nose, which also bothered me because I was hoping the set-up was safe and comfortable for everyone. Anyway, I suspect that she is anti-BLM, that is the only reason I could conclude that she would treat me so badly (I had a BLM mask on). Which is unfortunate, as I have had to interact with people who have "opposing" gear on and I speak to them respectfully. I would love to try the Camp one day, but it will not be at this location. read more

I just finished my first challenge having lost 25 pounds. I was able to complete it thanks to Camp Carson. The workouts were challenging and guaranteed to burn a lot of calories each session. At the beginning of Covid I realized I needed to make a change. I started my weight loss journey with videos. When I was down nearly 30 pounds my friend convinced me to try the Camp. She had tried to convince me to do the Camp before but I was too ashamed and scared that I wouldn't be able to keep up. I started with summer sizzle and lost 20 pounds and I decided to do the challenge. Over the challenge I lost 35.4 pounds. I am rolling over into the next challenge and honestly for the first time in my life I think I can lose the weight I've always carried.
