I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this salon. As someone new to Plainfield, this was my very first time trying a nail salon here, and it left a terrible first impression. I came in requesting something very simple -- acrylic removal and a basic polish. A kind female employee initially greeted me and directed me to seat 6. Before she could begin, a male technician abruptly stepped in, spoke in a rude tone, and insisted he would take over. The energy immediately shifted. From that point forward, I felt rushed and uncomfortable the entire time. While I was choosing a color, he complained out loud and acted visibly annoyed -- especially when I requested a light grey shade. I was made to feel like selecting a simple color was somehow an inconvenience. The service itself felt careless and incomplete. My nails were not properly filed, no finishing/top coat was applied, and I was told to use a dryer that did not even appear to be functioning. There was no attention to detail, no patience, and no professionalism. Getting your nails done should feel relaxing and enjoyable -- especially as a first-time customer. I LOVE MY NAILS!! There was only a couple things that took them down to 4 stars but I would recommend this salon. They get you in and going ASAP. Tommy took his time on my nails and make sure they were nice and clean. A couple of them the shape could be a little cleaner but it's not anything that ruins the nails. Not cuts, no burns and I am very pleased. The only other thing is they didn't really clean me up after they soaked my previous nails off and didn't tell me to go wash my hands after drilling and filing. I would say they could use a better check in system and kind of let me know what was going on. So it took a while for my daughter and I to be seen (they weren't that busy when we arrived). I asked for gel mani's and regular pedi's for both of us. They ended up forgetting that I'd asked for a mani ( forcing me to go to another salon after, to get a mani) and, painted my daughters toes (no pedicure for her) w/ a half done manicure. - Picture of her manicure attached I'd give a 1 1/2 star rating if I could. The first tech couldn't figure out how to shape my nails even though I had a picture and it was the exact same shape as before the fill and kept filing them to where they were too short. Then when filing she clearly didn't know what she was doing did three nails got flustered and switched with another nail tech to finish filing them. He did not smooth them out and buffed the skin on my fingers so hard I was bleeding. By that point I had given up on the shape and design I wanted and was told the color I was getting was the right color... it was not. I went to this salon Saturday June 12th using a gift certificate I received for Mothers Day. It was the most unpleasant experience I have ever had. I chose the top tier pedicure to get the extended massage, parrafin wax, hot stone and hot towels. This is $51 and I am fine with it IF you get the services. The woman who did my pedicure and manicure hcarged $3.00 to take off the old polish and an additional $15 to put Gel Polish on. Not a probnlem. She soaked the gel polish off then drilled it to finish it. She cut 3 of my toes pretty bad. 1 minimal. So all the products applied burned. She did nto massage my feet AT ALL! Teh older woman there was riding her constatly coming to her three different times during my pedicure. She was shaking after the last time. I do not know what was being said because they do not speak to each other in english. No problem, however the constant reprimand made it uncomforatble (embarrassing) for me to witness and painful since she cut me. I assume that is why I didnt get the services I paid for. She may have been told to hurry up? The manicure was pitiful. Consisted of a bowl in my lap, cut two fingers around the cutical. I didn't get color just clear. She was so rushed it was not at all a relaxing or enjoyable experience. My big toe on the right foot was so painful I coudlnt wear close toed shoes. It is summer so notr a huge inconvenience. I decided to call the salon. The guy who answered told me to tell him who the technician was, my first time so I didnt remember her name. Aske d me to provide pictures of the cuts. I did. Then he asked for a picture of me, said he woudl remember me. After that no response until I called today 3 days later. He wanted me to come in to the salon to show him who did the work. I told him to forget it. I wasnt going to go in there adn call out someone who was already harrassed during my visit. I sent the pictures and told him specifically I believe the older woman caused some of the issues. At any rate will never go back and DO NOT reccomend this salon to anyone. I only added 1 picture. I was completely disappointed with my visit. I scheduled an appointment online for my lunch break hoping I'd be able to get in and out. They have a check in kiosk and the man who was closest was very short with me, not really directing me as to the process. He asked what I wanted, I said a manicure. He asked if I wanted gel, and I said no, but I would like ombre or some sort of design. He said I'd have to do a full set of gel for that, which is not what I'm used to, so I told him I'd just do regular color. They were running late for the appointment, and I was going to give up, but they urged me to stay since a manicure would only take 15 minutes. They called me back about 20 minutes after my appointment time and she asked again what I wanted. I told her just a manicure. She asked again if I wanted gel, to which I replied I did not. She said, "ugh, regular paint chips fast." I don't care to rip apart my nails or soak my fingers in straight acetone. I got a half-assed manicure and my fingers are covered in paint. My nails have bubbles and black flecks of debris. She sat me at the dryer, ran my credit card, and I asked how long to stay there. The same guy from earlier snaps at me "at least 12 minutes! If you got gel it would be faster, but you don't want gel!" NO I DON'T WANT GEL!! Jeezuz. If you don't want to offer regular manicures, then don't. If you would have done a good job I'd have been back week after week for manicures and pedicures through the summer now that I work over here. Regular paint has been good enough for me for the last 36 years. I did gel ONE time and it took months to grow out the damage it caused. My nails were brittle and kept splitting. If you don't want my money, fine, but you don't need to make a person feel stupid because their body doesn't react well to the latest products and trends. I was asked what did I want done, in a very rude and unwelcome manner and I said full set, the gentleman asked if I wanted dip nails and I said no, that I wanted a full set with acrylic and a manicure. They had me sit down at table number six, the young lady they sent me with and then told me that she can only do dip nails. I asked could she at least do my manicure and she told me no that the same person had to do it all. She told me I would wait 10 minutes, 40 minutes later someone that walked in after me and did not have an appointment got sat down at a table immediately. When I politely asked why or did she have an appointment they told me, "no she didn't have an appointment, we did not know you wanted your nails done". I would like to start by establishing I'm no Karen. I'm a young girl and get my nails done pretty often. My go to place was closed, so my friend and I decided to try something new. I asked for acrylics and received dip powder?? Maybe this was a genuine mistake, but I honestly feel like the guy did what he wanted because he knew I wouldn't say anything... and I didn't which I admit was my fault.... He was not kind. He yanked my hand several times and continuously complained. I tried to start conversation, and he didn't talk to me. He didn't have a problem speaking to his coworker in another language while they're both glaring at me?? I don't expect to be best friends but I am the one paying... The entire experience felt rushed. I don't think he cared about the outcome of my nails which explains why after a short FOUR DAYS, I have lost my first nail. Not my first time here but this was my worst experience yet! We went to get pedicures and were rushed to our seats. They did not run the foot bath so we just sat waiting. No one even acknowledged we were waiting and would not answer any questions. New customers would come in and they were started before us. While sitting we saw tools being used one person after the other without sanitizing for both hands and feet. After an hour of waiting a worker came up and told us we had two more people in front of us once the others were finished. At this point we got up and left after seeing the conditions. To start off, the building and tools were very clean - a must for me. I had made an appointment but showed up an hour early. They were very accommodating and didn't make me wait for a second. The lady that did my manicures name was Mila. She was extremely kind and gave me exactly what I asked for. I was in and out in forty-five minutes. It was extremely good service, and I will definitely be returning! If you do go (which I would definitely recommend!), it would be a good idea to bring cash. An hour went by before anyone turned the water on, which was entirely too hot. A technician helping another customer recognized I had to pull my feet out and finally adjusted the temperature.
