I want to be fully transparent, the entire reason for me to take the time to write this review is with the goal that at least two people read this and go elsewhere for their auto glass needs. I will feel like I did something for the community and I will feel like I got my money back. I had a windshield replaced 2/13. Service was OK, although my appointment was scheduled for 2/12 and when I got there on the 12th, they realized they ordered the wrong glass for my car and I had to come back for service the 13th. That happens, no problems. On 2/27, I was sitting at a stop sign when I noticed a straight line, about one inch, on the edge of the glass, in the black. I couldn't tell what it was. I tried wiping it off from the inside of my car and I tried to clean it off with the wipers. Within 15 minutes, that one inch turned into 4, into 6. Still, confused by what it was. I stopped and saw from the outside that the windshield was cracked! I called right away and let them know. They told me a manger would call me on Monday. I work nights and was nearby the shop on Monday morning, I called and asked if I could bring it in now. They agreed. I brought it in and did not get the guy's name but he introduced himself as a "foreman". He looked at the crack and told me that it was caused by something hitting it. I did not believe that at all. The next few minutes shocked me and the second I knew, for sure, that this was not a reputable shop is when I asked him for a second opinion, and suggested it was a stress fracture from the installation two weeks ago. He told me, again, he was a foreman and that there was no one else who could give a second opinion. I told him OK, but that I absolutely could not get it replaced there again. He understood and let me leave. Then, I started doing actual research! If you are reading this and need auto glass, do NOT go here. Drive 43 minutes down the hill to Tigris auto glass (916) 476-3052. It will be a lot cheaper (from $470 to $250) in my case and I've had it now 7 weeks with no fracture. I understand things happen and I understand bad luck. Maybe my experience was both of those but the two things that I can't quite get over are 1) not honoring a customers request for a second opinion--that is free and ANY reputable or even reasonable person would gladly set up a second opinion and 2) I haven't mentioned this yet....but the installation, I was about to leave and the receptionist said, "oh and they told you no car washes and keep the tape on right?" No, I had zero instructions and was planning to go straight to the car wash! I didn't because she told me at the last second. At Tigris, I had a hand out with special care and instructions for the first two weeks. Knowing what I know now, absolute should have never installed my windshield when they did---as a major storm and temperature changes were brewing and those conditions alone make the glass setting and installation more vulnerable. Involving and promoting other shops in your review while making accusations about our work is inappropriate and unfair, especially when those businesses were not part of the original transaction. Because of the tone and conduct in your messages, you will not be meeting with me or any of my staff on Monday or at any other time going forward. I will not tolerate being spoken to in the manner you have been addressing me. If you believe you have a warranty concern related to XPEL products, I am happy to refer you to another certified XPEL installer who can assist you with evaluating or processing any potential warranty claim. Not even asking for free work or anything warranty related. After he did this whole act he must be called out especially as an adult business owner with a law degree like himself. My response; Michael Justis This response is exactly what I expected. Instead of addressing the workmanship concerns, you're choosing to label my feedback as malicious and shut down any opportunity to actually review the issues. What's inappropriate is refusing to stand behind your work when a customer raises legitimate concerns after spending around $7,500 on a full vehicle wrap and related services. My intention was simply to have a professional conversation and give you the opportunity to inspect the areas I mentioned. Multiple installers have already pointed out the same issues with visible edges and areas that were not properly tucked. That's not an accusation--it's a quality concern. Your decision not to even look at the vehicle or discuss a resolution speaks for itself. I will continue addressing the issues with another certified installer as suggested. Take care.
