I had to wait a certain amount of time before writing this. 1, so I wasn't writing an emotional review and 2, to make sure that the service I received elsewhere was superior. I want to be fully transparent, the entire reason for me to take the time to write this review is with the goal that at least two people read this and go elsewhere for their auto glass needs. I will feel like I did something for the community and I will feel like I got my money back. I had a windshield replaced 2/13. Service was OK, although my appointment was scheduled for 2/12 and when I got there on the 12th, they realized they ordered the wrong glass for my car and I had to come back for service the 13th. That happens, no problems. On 2/27, I was sitting at a stop sign when I noticed a straight line, about one inch, on the edge of the glass, in the black. I couldn't tell what it was. I tried wiping it off from the inside of my car and I tried to clean it off with the wipers. Within 15 minutes, that one inch turned into 4, into 6. Still, confused by what it was. I stopped and saw from the outside that the windshield was cracked! I called right away and let them know. They told me a manger would call me on Monday. I work nights and was nearby the shop on Monday morning, I called and asked if I could bring it in now. They agreed. I brought it in and did not get the guy's name but he introduced himself as a "foreman". He looked at the crack and told me that it was caused by something hitting it. I did not believe that at all. The next few minutes shocked me and the second I knew, for sure, that this was not a reputable shop is when I asked him for a second opinion, and suggested it was a stress fracture from the installation two weeks ago. He told me, again, he was a foreman and that there was no one else who could give a second opinion. I told him OK, but that I absolutely could not get it replaced there again. He understood and let me leave. Then, I started doing actual research! If you are reading this and need auto glass, do NOT go here. Drive 43 minutes down the hill to Tigris auto glass (916) 476-3052. It will be a lot cheaper (from $470 to $250) in my case and I've had it now 7 weeks with no fracture. I understand things happen and I understand bad luck. Maybe my experience was both of those but the two things that I can't quite get over are 1) not honoring a customers request for a second opinion--that is free and ANY reputable or even reasonable person would gladly set up a second opinion and 2) I haven't mentioned this yet....but the installation, I was about to leave and the receptionist said, "oh and they told you no car washes and keep the tape on right?" No, I had zero instructions and was planning to go straight to the car wash! I didn't because she told me at the last second. At Tigris, I had a hand out with special care and instructions for the first two weeks. Knowing what I know now, absolute should have never installed my windshield when they did---as a major storm and temperature changes were brewing and those conditions alone make the glass setting and installation more vulnerable. Just took my 2025 MDX type S for 70% windshield, 25% side windows and 15% back windows - they do a great job explaining everything, showing you the difference in tint shades if you need and they only use the best 3m ceramic tint! We needed to have my sunroof looked at before the rain as it leaked last year and they were recommended to us. They were able to get us in very quickly, spent a lot of time making sure that the sunroof was clear of any debris and that the sunroof was not leaking. They were very complementary of the work my husband had done clearing the drains. They had even told us that if parts were needed, they would put a plastic wrap to prevent leaking until the part came in. After they checked my sunroof, they even smoothed a rough windshield repair done by another glass company. They were very kind, treated us with respect and have earned our glass business. Had made an appointment for a Monday, showed and was informed that I was not on the schedule. Upon further checking I was informed my appointment was for the following Monday...no way I would have agreed to that, had surgery scheduled for that day. Made a new appointment for 1.5 weeks out on a Wednesday. 5:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon someone called from an unknown number (goes right to voice mail of course) Msg says they don't have my tint in stock, really what tint was that? We never discussed which tint I was going to get. I called the shop in the am and asked about which tint they had run out of "all of the tint" wait what? You ran out of every kind of tint all at the same time? I was told they would call me when they got more tint in, no thanks I'll go somewhere else. read more

I have used absolute for years, and always been happy with them...I'm not sure if they're still in business. When i call it just rings and then hangs up. I called and made an appointment in August, but i guess they had a death in the family :( so i called back a few weeks later and their technician was in the hospital :(.....finally after 2 months of "we will call you back to schedule" i chose another company but when i called my insurance they informed me Absolute accepted payment for my windshield back in August! I called and made an appointment for a windshield chip repair on a Monday for the following day. Shon was friendly and accommodating. However, when I arrived I was surprised that the office door was locked and it appeared that no one was there. I waited around for 20 mins and no one showed. I came back an hour later and that was still the case. When I tried calling, the phone rang once then disconnected. I understand that things happen, but it was a frustrating inconvenience to say the least (especially as I made an appt to avoid any mishaps such as this). We had a wonderful experience at Absolute Auto Glass in Placerville. We went in with a cracked windshield from a rock and Shon, the owner, gave us an amazing price if we wanted to pay out of pocket, but also advised us to check with our insurance company. After checking with our insurance company and finding out the crack is covered and we would only have to pay the deductible, we went back to Absolute Auto Glass for the repair. Shon not only saved us money but even gave us an additional $50.00 off coupon for our deductible. He definitely runs an honest business and we are customers for life. Mostly great experience. They were responsive and got me in quick. We didn't use insurance, and the price was around what we expected. I was disappointed when I got my car back though as I found several pieces of glass throughout the vehicle. I have kids so this was a little concerning. I had to vacuum my whole car out when I got home. The windshield itself was really streaky where it looked like something had been attempted to be wiped off. Save your time and go to a better shop. Super disappointing because they used to be good. They make a LOT of excuses, but don't do the work. If you express how mis-orders, reschedules and poor communication impact you, the owner will text and call, just to call you names. They ordered the wrong glass so they had to reschedule after keeping my car all day. Then they told me they had the right glass so we made a new appt, but sent the glass back to the vendor because they don't keep records. When I said it sucked that I had to take 2 separate days off for their screw ups, suddenly it was MY fault that they don't keep records? Never got a straight answer as to what happened, because the owner was too busy calling me a bitch. Got terrific service from another local shop with no hassles. Our windshield needed to be replaced, and I chose Absolute due to reviews on Yelp. I was not disappointed! Crimson told me yesterday the job would take longer than normal due to a manufacturer's requirement to calibrate the front camera. She said they would do their best if I arrived by 9 to be finished by early or mid-afternoon, since I was stuck without a ride. The owner confirmed that when I arrived but committed to trying to speed it up some. I looked into the service area a short time later and saw he had two employees working on it and went back to my reading. An hour after I walked in the door, they were done. Not just the replacement but the separate process of calibration. Everything looks good, everyone was pleasant and their surprising speed gave me most of my day back when I really needed the time. I scheduled a windshield replacement and got an appointment, when I arrived they took my car in and I walked to grab some food, about ten minutes later I got a call from them saying "we actually never had your windshield delivered this morning, we can reschedule you but you need to get your car". Honestly I was a bit outraged that they waited till I got there (4pm) to tell me this, I took work off early to rush there, when I asked why nobody confirmed the windshield replacement that morning the receptionist said, " oh, I never check to see if the windshield has arrived until the customer is here". So obviously they have no problem wasting people's time. When I asked for a discount on my reschedule ( only open appointment was a week later) she said probably not, and that's up to the owner, who never got back to me about this terribly apathetic customer service. Picked this place initially as it was somewhat close to my work place and had hoped for mobile service. Turns out I needed to go to their shop to have my front camera callibrated. Glad this was covered by my insurance, $850!! They offerred a $50 discount, so after my deductible, my cost was $200. Showed up at 9am on a Saturday for my appt but after an hour was told their callabrator wasn't working so I would need to come back. Not ideal, my time is precious. The owner gave me free wipers and a bottle of glass cleaner for my trouble, along with a free chip repair. They are a nice shop, so would go back if/when I need to. read more

What a lifesaver this place is!! Unfortunately a goose went through and shattered our windshield while driving 75mph on the 50. Every windshield repair place was closed and SafeLight wanted ($400!) plus they couldn't fix it until Thursday (mind you its Friday and we're half way on our road trip from SF to Mammoth). After feeling helpless and stranded, we called Absolute Auto as soon as they opened. Not only could they fit us in to a first thing appointment, they pre-ordered our windshield while we were getting towed over. The whole process took about 2 hours and we were out of there in better shape than when we started. These guys were so friendly (and empathetic to our situation), they vacuumed and cleaned all the broken glass from inside the car AND they have free wifi so my husband could work while we waited.
