Had an ample amount of ingredients giving me the sense that they don't skimp with their recipes! The onions were pickled so those of you who avoid onions for the sake of keeping your breath fresh for those around you, Poor Reds has you covered. I came for the BBQ and found myself intrigued by the Fritos Chili Pie. I ordered both. Kept the ribs to a half rack and split them with my son. First, the Fritos Chili Pie. It came in a bowl with a piece of foil between my Fritos Chili Pie and the bowl. I wondered out loud why there was foil here and my son pointed out that it was a Fritos chips bag that had been opened with the inner silver part facing up to hold my Fritos Chili Pie. I guess it is to show that the corn chips are indeed Fritos brand and that there is an entire bag used for this serving. The flavor was pretty good. I like heat so I wish the jalapeños were more plentiful. I finished the entire pie! Second, the St. Louis Ribs with fries. These came on a plate with the standard side of french fries. I love good fries and these were good! They are batter covered fries. No too thin (I hate thin fries) and not steak fries or wedges. They are cooked well and come out crispy without being overly done. The ribs looked fantastic and were very tender. After eating two ribs I was somewhat disappointed. I was expecting more flavorful ribs. The flavor wasn't bad, I was just expecting elevated flavor. Was looking for an OMG moment and instead found myself in a meh shrug. The second issue with the ribs was the apparent age of them and how many days prior they may have been cooked. They weren't BAD as in spoiled. The texture on the ends and edges gave me that impression of being reheated from a previous day. I may return in the next few months and try the ribs again to see if I just got some that aren't the norm. The cocktails fell short of expectations. Even their signature Golden Cadillac fell short. When I came here years ago the drink has a very distinctive flavor profile SERVICE Stellar! Bree was on point, friendly and helpful. She kept us informed and also asked our preferences. An example is if we wanted everything at once, to which I replied salad first. This was appreciated! She kept our table clear of empties and trash. Good service helps when the food falls short. It appeared from what I could see that the staff are like Bree and very good in the area of service. DECOR The updated decor is nice. The bar area has maintained the feel from the previous owners. I haven't been here for over 15 years, which was prior to it's closure by the previous owners. Very pleasant surroundings for our dining experience. CLEANLINESS Yes, it appears very clean. I chose the Longhorn (tri tip) sandwich and fries and a Lillikoi Mai Tai, and the spouse chose the Pastrami Sandwich and a beer called Dank. They do not do table service so after ordering we grabbed a seat. This is a pretty large open space with an outdoor patio, several roll up doors and misters at the outside. Shortly after sitting down a server came over with our meals. I started with a french fry, and I have to say these are the best french fries I have ever had, in my life time. I don't know if its the way they cut the fries, the way they are seasoned, what they are fried in or all of the above, but they were delicious! Our sandwiches were outstanding! Both were incredibly flavorful and filling, and even after I was full I continued eating because everything tasted SO GOOD. The drinks were excellent too, so good that we ordered a second round. The young man at the counter also made my mai tai and did an excellent job. About halfway into our meal other guests started to arrive and by the time we left there were at least 4-5 parties of guests in the restaurant. Cover band stage…read more I've enjoyed watching local cover bands perform live on the Stage Bar. The setting has been renovated from what I remember from before. Now the setting has a short wall around the stage area and just outside of it is a huge bar with lots of seating. The raised stage has been the scene of performances from different genres whether you're in the mood for soul, classic rock, top 40, country, Latin, R&B, Motown, and the 80's! Bands usually perform Friday and Saturday nights from 9:30p - 1:30a and Sundays from 1:00-4:00p and most of the time country bands performing on Sundays. The Stage Bar is located inside Red Hawk Casino. It is right next to the elevators heading to the Waterfall Buffet and other restaurants downstairs. It has a dance floor and high and low table seating all around. Every once in a while a server will come around passing out free small water bottles to patrons. I like it that the Casino provided seating rather than just having to stand there to watch the performances especially when the bands go on their intermission breaks between sets. At least we don't have to wander away we can just hang out. People tend to leave after the second music set if there are no seats (like other casinos... I won't mention the name but the casino is in Lincoln). LoL Red Hawk is about a 45-min drive from my home so I pick my shows when I come here. I've seen some great local talent on stage including the Spazmatics [the Ultimate 80's New Wave show], Big Bad Boogie Rock [70's and 80's], Apple Z [Pop and Top 40], and Cover Me Badd [Today's Dance hits]. The woman he was with was chatting up me and the total stranger who had sat down at my table. Frank was displeased. But no one else cared, Frank. Just sayin. They have a pool table and darts. Great prices. Strangers were telling each other jokes, photo-bombing each others' selfies, and helping each pick out music on the juke box. Note: It was not karaoke night. The music on the box was at a very nice level. Loud enough to sing along if you wished. But you could still talk without shouting in someone's ear. I might be back next Monday. For an all-you-can-eat buffet, especially one where people are paying to enjoy the experience, 90 minutes feels extremely restrictive. What made it even worse was how we were treated when our time was up. Staff repeatedly tried to get us to leave, even though we explained that it was my birthday and asked if we could stay a little longer. Rather than showing some understanding or kindness for a longtime customer celebrating a special occasion, we felt dismissed and laughed at. The attitude we received was incredibly disappointing and disrespectful. I understand that businesses have policies and time limits, but there is a huge difference between enforcing a policy professionally and making a customer feel unwelcome on their birthday. After years of making Koto Buffet part of my birthday tradition, this experience left me feeling like the tradition is no longer worth continuing. The food may still have some good options, but the overall experience and the way we were treated completely ruined my birthday.
