It was creamy, vibrant and chilly. Red's appears to specialize in blended ice cocktails. I also tried the Grasshopper which walks perfectly minty, creamy and sweet. For food I tried the flank steak sliders and the coleslaw. The coleslaw was notable with a touch of paprika on top that was different and a good contrast to the sweet drinks. The sliders could be better. They came out piping hot on a series of Hawaiian rolls. The steam from the meat dissolves the buns a bit so it was more of a knife and fork situation. The dried crispy onions were a nice touch. Excellent service from both bartenders and friendly conversation with the locals who frequent the bar. Overall, I'd highly recommend, especially fo the historical aspect. The building was constructed in the 1800s and originally served as a Wells Fargo weighing station before being converted to a bar.

Unfortunately, something has changed in the kitchen and noticebly different after our last 3 visits. Burgers appear to be frozen and possibly grilled over wood as advertised and DEFINATELY over- seasoned and salted. Still lack natural flavor, smoke and overcooked regardless of preferance . Also ribs are dry and reheated. I would not reccomend either entry! Something positive, service and golden cadilacs are good. Please get your kitchen in order and be great again

I have made amazing friends at Wally's and I consider it to be 'the spot' in Cameron Park. However, a specific manager has really left me with a horrible taste in my mouth. Andy has , on numerous occasions , lied and been on some weird power trip with myself and my best-friend that are consistent regulars to this establishment. If you have two well-mannered, consistent, loyal regulars to your bar top (who are personal friends with 60% of the staff) ... you probably shouldn't lie to them when they ask for the shade blinds to be opened on a beautiful spring night. On three separate occasions, Andy has refused to open the outdoor patio shade screens during sunset when requested. On all 3 occasions, there were only 4-6 other people at the 20ish bar top inside. When we requested to raise the screens to our bartender, we were met with Andy's response: "other regulars want them down, so I'm not raising them". No other regulars at the bar top , no one anywhere near the patio. Again, we are FREQUENT regulars, requesting this on beautiful California spring nights, when no one at the bar top inside is anywhere near the glare range of the screens coming up. Honestly, anytime I walk in and Andy is managing I'm annoyed. He plays immature games for attention, & that's with people that come there frequently! If he treats any first time customers of Wally's this way, it's a shame, because every other employee of this establishment has been nothing but amazing. This review is directly a review of Andy, not of any other member on staff, or for the establishment as a whole. Wallys is my favorite place in Cameron Park, hands down, even with the BS this manager puts out to his regulars.

Before I was a big fan of the Greater Meal deal Bacon cheeseburger and endless fries and a drink for just $9.99. They still have this deal too! I still have 2 of my crew with me as we returned to the Sacramento area after a long road trip to Vegas and back. We decided a late lunch at Applebee's was just the thing we needed. They have a great drink selection as well. I'm driving, so no drinkie for me this time! One of the crew got the Big Easy special of the shrimp and chicken with mashed potatoes served on a bed of mushroom and onions all on a sizzling hot platter. I got my fave Bourbon Chicken Penne pasta served with green and red bell pepper and onions as well as andouille sausage. There's just something about this combination that tastes super good, the kitchen really got this one right! The other crew member went for the Meal Deal Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. Service was all friendly and the interior of this location looked pretty similar to all the Applebee's with a bar in the center and table all around and nice windows to let in the light. The food arrives and we all dig in. Mine is tasty as I've had before. The chicken and shrimp dish is sizzling away, had to get a vid of that! We all loved the food here. Get to Applebee's and try this new Big Easy Menu, lotta different choices on it.

I'm getting a little sick of fast food, so I suggested checking out Applebee's. Online ordering is simple and easy. I did read they give you a free appetizer when joining their loyalty club, so I decided to do so. I don't know how it works, but I never saw a free appetizer. Was going to order from them anyways, so just went ahead with my online order. I haven't been to Applebee's in years, so I asked the hubs what he wanted. He mentioned the two for $26 deal, so we just went ahead and ordered that. He adores mozzarella sticks and I like spinach and artichoke dip, so we added the less expensive one as an additional item. It was $0.20 less, but hey, less money is less money. I enjoyed the chicken. It was savory and cheesy. A lil salty, but the lime cut into that. The dip was nice and creamy. I had some carrot sticks at the house, so I ate it with those. The hubs had it with the chips and said it was a lil salty as well. The riblets were pretty good. I was afraid they would be too sweet due to the honey bbq, but it wasn't at all. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. Tho they need to give you more than one small container of marinara. It's not enough for all the sticks. Luckily, I had some spaghetti sauce at the house so it was an okay substitute. When leaving, I noticed a sign saying they do half off appetizer after 9pm. Not sure of the terms, but we didn't get that deal online. So if ordering, maybe call them instead or order in person to get the deal. I believe the wait for takeout is probably less than 20 mins. I may try that if we decide to check out Applebee's again. REVIEW #3595

The theme was Country Nights and Carnival Lights... all day and night. I've been attending this fair for quite some time. My favorite events to watch are the livestock auction, horse riding drill team event, and the John Studebaker wheelbarrow racing. All of these shout out "community" and is unique to the area. I enjoy watching the auction and seeing the youngsters show their animals... pigs, turkeys, goats, rabbits, and Angus cattle. Plus it's pretty neat listening to the fast talking wise cracking auctioneer. The wheelbarrow barrel racing is a signature event unique to this fair. Yup, the race is named after the auto manufacturer. Contestants run an obstacle course pushing a wheelbarrow and filling a gunny sack filled with dirt. There's even a water hazard. Fun fact as a young man, John Studebaker made his way to Placerville to gold mine and ended up making wheelbarrows instead. With his hard earned money, he moved back to the Midwest to start manufacturing automobiles with his brothers. Must try food: +The local chapter of the 20/30 club makes a pretty awesome tasting taco. Slightly fried crispy shell tacos. And at $5, it's a bargain compared to the other food stand vendors. +My other favorite food vendors that were locally based was the Love Birds Coffee stand. They sell coffee drinks , doughnut, waffles, cookies, and Krispy treats. The baked goods are all homemade and hefty sized. The prices were a bit cheaper than the other food stands. I had a flavored iced coffee... delicious!!! +Some folks that we shared a picnic table with raved about another local vendor... Holy Grail Grill. The pulled pork soft tacos were outstanding! 3 for $12. Not to worry the fair had a ton of carnival food vendors...corn dogs, funnel cakes, Chinese food, soft serve, icees (including the over 21 versions), BBQ... you name it. Parking: There is no fairgrounds public parking lot. Parking is at the library. From there, a free shuttle drops off at the front admissions gate. They come around often so the wait time is minimal. The shuttle is handicapped accessible and has air conditioning. Admission: General admission is $12 and senior (60 and over ) is $10. They allow in and out fair entry, just get a hand stamp before exiting.
