True brick oven pizza. Thin crust with great portion of toppings. They offer take out. There is a place to sit but there is no wait staff. Order at the desk and bring it to your table. That's fine. The pizza here is so good and the sandwiches too. But my favorite is the spinach pie with tomatoes wow they make it good. Staff on hand are very friendly and they make sure your order is right before you depart. I've been coming here since 2001 and I'm a New Yorker born a rise there and very one says they have NY Pizza ,from pizza villa to mark Anthony they don't taste better then PJs . I hate posting bad reviews but this place is ridiculous. I Moved out here a little over two years ago. This pizza shop is about a mile and a half away from my house. My standard Peetz is a white pizza with feta cheese finish and pepperoni. I've ordered that pizza from the shop four different times every single time it has been completely undercooked to the point where I have to bring it home and cook it for about 30 minutes before even edible spend $34 on a pizza have to cook it yourself is beyond ridiculous. Every time I've actually told the people that made the pizza it's not cooked then beer arrogant narcissistic sociopathic complete buffoon told me the pizza was fine. Meanwhile, when you bring it home it's actually 3/4 of the way around the pizza for $34. Have to bring a piece home to cook yourself is ridiculous. I've ordered the same exact pizza from Westshore Pizza and Marco's probably well over 100 times In Tampa it's never been undercooked it's never had to be cooked at home. This pizza shop is completely inept about actually cooking a white pizza have no idea what the other pizzas they cook actually taste like but for me to spend $34 per pizza after bring it home and cook it the first one we just threw out cause it was horrible, I don't suggest anyone ever goes to this pizza shop or ever even risk eating something that could possibly give you salmonella. We had pizza and wings for the AFC/NFC championship football games. The pizza was good and the wings were horrible. The large meaty pie had plenty of toppings (not much cheese). The garlic Parmesan wings were over cooked and too dry to eat. The "mild" wings burned my brother in law's mouth . I tried the mild wings and they messed up and gave us hot wings! PS. Disappointed. Was in at 2:30 on a weekday, looking for a slice, the case was empty. Ordered a calzone, which I have ordered before and thought excellent. Food was prompt and hot-2 stars. The calzone, however, had a crust that was tasteless and soggy. Was this made from white bread dough? Did not taste like fermented pizza dough, it had a soft brown crust. Brushed with garlic butter containing not nearly enough garlic to call it garlic butter. If this is the dough you make pizza with, you may want to recalibrate your thinking. I also got Garlic knots which should've had a touch more garlic and olive oil but maybe that's just me wanting them to be dripping in sauce. I'd been going to PJs since the original location on SHD but I will not be going back. The pizza has gotten extremely greasy and the last two times they screwed up my order. I didn't say anything the first time they gave me pepperoni instead of bacon. Don't order the pineapple topping... it tastes like it is from a can and they don't warm it on the pizza. Gross. I ordered a calzone which says it comes with ham on the menu but I got cheese only. When I called to complain I was told they couldn't remake it and that it was my mistake for not specifying the ham. They also challenged me being a former customer saying it was my first order. It was the first time I used the online ordering system. The calzone was mostly dough and their large side of sauce is tiny. My $50 order for a family of 5 wasn't worth it. I started ordering on uber, it was a $7 delivery fee so I checked door dash, $6 fee and rates for the food we were ordering were different on each app so I decided to call and order and pick up myself. I was asked if I wanted sauce with the garlic knots, I said yes. I was told my amount due was double what Uber said. When I got to the location to pick up, I was told this happens often. Even as far as telling me people's card will decline because they think it's for the Uber amount when in fact, their prices doubled. I said "well can't they fix that, Id be livid if my total just changed like that" her response was "they should". I didn't think the pizza and wings were worth going back for. Garlic knots are just like everyone else's. Can't mess up a salad. Never got the sauce I said yes to. read more

I purchased over $90 dollars of food to include four calzones. Upon opening the boxes of calzones I noticed that there was only one sauce for the calzones. I reentered the restaurant to request three additional sauces and was told that the sauce was additional money. I attempted to tell the representative that I have never heard such a thing and she responded with "that's how we do it here". This is like ordering fish and not getting tarter sauce! I don't get the high ratings lavished on PJ's. The decor is confused and the bathroom is dirty. The seats in our case needed re springing. This could have been offset by the food, but it was lackluster. We ordered the special with a half cheese, half pineapple pie, garlic knots, and a pitcher of soda. The sauce - both for the garlic knots and for the pie- lacked any substantial flavor. The use of cheap cheese resulted in a very oily pie. While it wasn't bad tasting, it was certainly not worth coming back for. Sauce notwithstanding, the garlic knots were very good. I could quibble and ask for more garlic flavor, but that would be more my preference than a deficiency. Other things that bothered me: 1. 5-6 employees hanging out at the front counter, chit-chatting. They were likely delivery drivers waiting to go out, but have they nowhere else to go while they wait? 2. An employee used the pizza peel to straighten out boxes on the shelf behind the counter more than once. I did not see the peel sanitized after this. 3. The lack of table service and having to cash out before you eat inhibits your desire to order more. I would have gotten more soda, but I would have had to go to the counter, order it, pay for it, and risk not being able to charge it since they have a $4 minimum for charges. I dealt with it by not dealing with it. Overall, this place is crying out for Chef Robert Irvine to perform a "Restaurant Impossible" rescue. Lots of potential but poor execution. read more

My good friend John "Mr. Pizza" Morris told me that this place is the best in town for pizza and that I had to go there (and invite him) and put it in the mix for the review. They do pizza by the slice (I love sampling a variety of pies) and thus I got a pepperoni pizza and then three additional slices to try. Well..... I say slices, but that would be understating what I experienced. I got the special, (same combo as before) which was very good, and against my better judgment the white pizza (I don't like white pizza but thought I would try this one). Surprise, surprise, I didn't care for it and am officially retiring myself from the white pizza league. It's been real, but I am over it. Following the white pizza catastrophe, I sought to raise my spirits with the "Stuffed Slice". Imagine a pie, but it's pizza. Bottom crust (like any pizza) then an inch or two of mozzarella, ricotta and other goodness and a TOP CRUST and that's what you have. You know what? Just check the picture, I can't explain it and do it any sort of justice. The pizza is very good; it's in the top five on it's own. The "Stuffed Slice"; it's over the top. It's fantastic. I am a convert. I will never go here again without getting it. It is a must. My only criticism, (God, I'm really splitting hairs here) is that they only do one type of "stuffed slice", as best I can tell. I have to defer to my man Fred Zand who said it would be great to have some other types, a cheesesteak or something and some other samplings. This pizza is really something that you have to try. I love it, and you won't convince me that it doesn't have magical properties. If you're on a diet, break it. You have to have this pizza; you too will be a convert. read more

I ordered a large cheese pie tonight. Here's the full story! Awaiting a pie that a friend raved would be delicious. As we became hungrier by the minute we wondered where the pie was. Our pie was sitting on the ground on the cold concrete in front of the door. No knock, no ring nothing!!My dog didn't even bark. No one heard him. I picked up the pie brought it to the kitchen table the cheese was all stuck together and hard. I would like to speak with the delivery guy. Used to really like their pizza & garlic knots. The last 3 times I've ordered from there, I've been disappointed. The pizza has been incredibly greasy. This last time, some of the garlic knots were still raw in the middle & the pizza was tasteless. There was hardly any sauce on it as well. WOW I'm drooling just thinking about their Stuffed Pizza. LET'S TALK FOOD Okay, some of my items have been slightly burnt (and in doing so the crust can be slightly tougher) but I've been able to ignore it easily. DANG maybe I'm just starving, but everything tastes so good. Plus the portions are HUGE for the price. This is the type of place you stock up on then eat throughout the week because it still tastes good. SITTING DOWN In relation to the above, once I walked in there was a slight burnt smell in the air. Oh well. There's not much to look at in terms of decoration on the walls and the tables are very simple, but there's a pretty good seating area. i arrived for pick up. The young girl at the register had not been trained properly and was having difficulty making change. when I finally received the pizza it was obviously over baked. I called it to the managers attention, she was "politely" rude and finally offered to make another pizza. I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. I ordered the Tuesday Pizza special and when I came in the store a few minutes later I asked where the rest room was. The gal told me where and then said.....It is only for customers sir.
