The restaurant kindly blocked off a space for us, o we had a separate table filled with wine glasses that the waiters kept restocked. The bruschetta was great, tomatoes very fresh. Croquettes were decent. Pizzas were excellent! Margherita sbagliata is my all time favorite. The peppe was excellent and nicely spicy. We went to Pizzeria Testa late on a weeknight and sat outside and it was pretty crowded. They have some games for kids too! Our arancini was tasty and our pizza was good too but not necessarily the best pizza we've had. Our server was very nice and it was a good environment. This pizza is the closest to an Italian pizza in Dallas I could find! The dough is just like the one my father makes, the crust is thin and the cheese is abundant and of high quality!! One of my favorite restaurants, and its a fight for top 3 pizza shops for me. Ones a chain, ones a nyc style pizza place and pizzeria testa. So they all get their own respective categories. They have a "meter long" pizza option with our four pizza choices which is cool and all for the aesthetics but I think the round boi's taste better. I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest getting the Rodfather, it comes with Spianata which makes it spicy and good. The Marinara pasta was not bad. too fresh and light for our american palate. We ordered the Margherita Sbagliata and the Peppe which was plenty for the three of us. The Margherita stayed thin and crisp, however the Peppe was a bit of a sogfest, unfortunately (the spianata on it was delicious though). The Margherita was perfect - the marinara sauce was tangy and a perfect complement to the dollops of pesto, and I can see myself coming back just for that pie. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu (very standard), and the nutella Panuozzi, which will tempt you by its very name, but should be skipped. It's essentially a nutella calzone - nutella stuffed into two layers of bread. Sounds like an instant winner, but the bread is extremely chewy and hard to eat, and the nutella flavor is a bit lost in the breadiness of it all. I would recommend for Testa to lose one layer of bread - we just need a simple vessel to shovel the Nutella into our mouths. Thanks! read more

We love and frequent the original Frisco location, and ended up stopping by the Greenville location since we needed a quick dinner. Well, lives up to what we expected, considering the Frisco location makes our favorite Neapolitan pie in DFW. Delicious food with a great atmosphere. The pizza was thin crusted and cooked perfectly to be crispy and a little chewy. The Arancini was good and the filling was the right balance of creaminess. The kale salad was flavorful with the Gorgonzola, bacon, and lemon vinaigrette giving it a nice salty balance with the kale. The mushrooms and sausage with the tomato sauce was a great combo. I immediately ordered with my eyes because of photos of perfect leopard charred spots on the crust. Their margherita is great, but it spills its guts with each bite. Although the dough is chewy and each ingredient is high quality, instead of binding on the crust together, the sauce and the cheese just slide off and the pie is really soggy. My love for pizza really exploded when I came here. Interior is nice and the staff is friendly. They have electronic menus to minimize contact. Our pizzas were crispy, chewy, and tasty in all the right places. We also got the arugula salad with it. When it's less busy they open up the parking lot beside it. If you're looking for an appetizer, you have to go with the salami rosette! They aren't so big that one person can't finish it by themselves though. If you liked FireCrust Pizza (which shuttered several years ago unfortunately), this is the closest in taste. I don't even have words to describe our pizza experience. It's been 3 weeks and I'm about to cry typing this. First of all I have a disability and sometimes at the end of a long day I can't even walk. When I tell you after getting my groceries from CENTRAL MARKET, this was just the case. I randomly called Pizzeria Testa pizza place because it was on our way to drive back home. I can't believe Ive frequented so many pizza places in the area; but this was a place I've never been to or heard of before. From the time we pulled up the convenient roundabout in front of the door, to them bringing the pizza out to us to us, eating it in the car was convenient and helpful. It was so hot, that some of the cheese had slid off; and here I was driving down the street in the dark, eating crust and sauce. And it was STILL the best pizza I've ever had, and I consider myself a pizzaologist (one who specializes in pizza). I am originally from Erie, Pennsylvania. We have a "Little Italy" Community. We are home to, "the pepperoni ball," so I've had some great Italian Mom & Pop experiences growing up. This was special; this tastes like Italy. The sauce, was like no other. I tried Pizzeria Testa tonight with my friend after searching for a random place to eat at 8:30pm (obviously we didn't plan ahead ). My friend wanted Italian so we decided to pick Pizzeria Testa since they were opened later until 10pm. I had high hopes for the ratings and so wanted to give it a 4 star rating or above but have to be honest! First off, it was empty and I noticed it seems like a rather large space and never too busy, even when I've passed by during what should be prime dining hours. The restaurant and space is beautiful though. Our server was great! He checked in with us often and was knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Caprese salad and it was just okay. They brought little sides of salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar. Nothing to write home about in my opinion. Not much flavor and the tomatoes were kind of stiff. We ordered the veggie pizza and it was also just okay and had whole olives that rolled off the pizza. Not a lot of red sauce and it wasn't too hot. Not too much flavor either. Bland, not memorable and didn't feel satiated at the end of the meal. We also ordered a couple drinks. I started with a glass of rose and ended with a dirty martini. Honestly the martini was the most enjoyable part of my experience. Excellent and perfectly chilled. Without the service, ambiance and drinks, unfortunately my rating might have dropped. Prices were high and between a few drinks, the salad and pizza we had a $120 total tab including the 20% tip we left for our amazing server. Overall, I had such high hopes with all the great ratings but the food itself just didn't meet my expectations and that should be the most important part of dining out. I know there have been a few different restaurants in this space that didn't last over the years so I really hope this makes it. I probably won't be returning (sadly). read more

Pizzeria Testa takes me back to those late nights, in Florence, Italy, while in college, a slice of funghi pizza pie to my left and a glass of Pinot Noir to my right, when I didn't realize that pizza in Italy was the greatest thing on earth and could never be replicated. Boy was I wrong! Pizzeria Testa brought back such a precious moment in my life. I had to just simply sit there and savor the flavor and the experience. This establishment, trendy and stylish, fits right in with the Lower Greenville crowd. The head chef and owner made themselves known immediately after we were seated and presented us with complimentary potato croquettes, stuffed with ham/salami, cheese, parsley, and guess what folks? Potatoes! The pizza dough is only made up of about four ingredients, just the way pizza dough should be. One person may enjoy the pizza all to themselves or you might be like me and eat most of it, try to be cute, and leave a couple of slices for a snack 30 minutes down the road. During COVID, I resorted to Goldbelly to fulfill my pizza fantasies from NYC, being generally unsatisfied with any options that Dallas had to offer. In a moment of quiet desperation, I even reached out to the owner of another pizza restaurant out of state to ask if they too, would ship. They told me they didn't -- but, kindly referred me to Testa, which I am eternally grateful for. Who knew that great pizzerias have such a secret, internal network! If you are new to Neapolitan-style pizzas, the quality of the dough preparation with 00 flour as well as the oven temperature and cooking process have a steep learning curve... and these guys really know what they're doing. Watching and learning from Maestro Vito Iacopelli on YouTube has been an inspiration in this regard. I've dined both in-person and via Uber Eats at least 30 times. I'm not sure if this is now a point of pride or embarrassment, but every time I order, Uber Eats lets me know I'm in the top 5% of customers. In all cases, the food has been consistently excellent. Our go-to is the large Pancetta salad and Primavera pizza. Testa, if you're reading this, I am praying you will consider adding a sourdough option to your menu at some point. I have cultivated an Italian Ischia starter at home that I would be happy to share for experimentation. Delicious addition to the mid Greenville pizza game. We had lunch here on a Saturday and we were pleasantly surprised. It was not super packed and the buildout inside was beautiful. Modern farmhouse chic is what I have decided to dub it. The space is super open and bright. We really liked the setup. There is even a window to the side where you can see the staff making fresh pizza dough. Two large pizza ovens are the centerpiece of the mine dining room. We started out with some wine flights and a caprese salad. The olive oil / balsamic on the salad made for great dipping of the airy amazing pizza crust (more on that later). A manager or owner brought out the wine flights and he was super knowledgeable on the wines (I believe all of them are Italian). The menu has a healthy dose of salads, pastas, and pizzas. The pizzas were the highlight and since the whole restaurant is based around the pizza we had to have some pies. The pizzas are separated by white and red pizzas - pretty cool! We got the quatro formaggi and a red sauce sausage one with mushrooms (forgot the name). Both were super delicious and the best part was the crust. Very airy and light. Tasted like pizza in Italy! We had 2 pizzas and a salad between 3 adults and a two year old. Just the right amount of food to leave satisfied and not over stuffed. A friend of mine and I went to the new, second, location of Pizzeria Testa for lunch today. She loved the Frisco location and wanted to try the new one on Greenville. There were very few people there at noon and by the time we left, we were the last. The interior is super cool with the metal and glass and exposed brick and schmoozey, modern decor. This location has a full bar and let me say, our martinis were killer! So good! We had a couple starters. The Caprese and the Prosciutto & Melone. The Caprese was great!! The tomatoes were sweet and juicy, yet crisp and fresh! Not sure how they did that but they weren't too green! Yummy. The balsamic drizzle added the acidic undertone to the crisp sweet tomatoes. Just right. The Prosciutto & Melone was a bit bland. The melon wasn't sweet and the Fiore di Latte wasn't salty enough (or have much flavor at all really) but the Prosciutto was good sooooo... we ate most of it. The Pinoli & Prosciutto salad was good. I'd prefer a bit of spinach to be added to the spring mix so it wasn't so prickly. The strawberries mixed with the cheese and nuts and Prosciutto was a good mix; If you like salads. The Rodfather pizza was good! The crust was soft on the inside. Had a little chew to it. There was plenty of hot, malty cheese and the Spianata was good. It was a hit. I got a cappuccino and my friend got a latte for dessert. The latte disappeared instantly so I'm guessing it was up to par. The cappuccino was really good with a touch of cinnamon. Perfection! The thing that made this a five star visit was the service. Our server was very nice. Patient that we weren't in a hurry at lunch. Several people came by to check on us and just visit.
