The staff are very friendly and you get a nice view of the planes from the restaurant. The ambience is pretty nice too complete with marble tables and comfy seating. You also will get a table and it's a bit of a nice break from the commotion of the busy airport food court. The menu is pretty basic and a bit on the pricey side but this is expected at the airport. Decided on a mozzarella cheese melt (which came with little bread rolls) and a veggie pizza made with spinach and had a fried egg on top (I forget the name of it). The bread rolls were great and the cheese melt was delicious! Not overly salty, just a perfect balance of cheesey goodness. The pizza was ok. We were hungry so we ate it. Definitely a unique pizza just not the best pizza I've ever eaten. I would probably just get a margherita pizza next time. In all a decent meal if you have some time to spend at the wonderful Hong Kong airport! read more

Wow. Super impressed with the quality and taste of this pizza! I was nervous for a few reasons, one it being in an airport, two being in Hong Kong, three being an English establishment. Just too many layers of abstraction from its original source. I'd had the L'ape, pepperoni, buffalo mozzarella, basil, and honey. It was awesome. The honey added a nice flavor. The pizza sauce and dough were right on point. It was cooked perfectly. I think I might like it better than most Italian style pizzas in the states. read more

We chose to eat here because they serve breakfast with eggs and sausages. It's a good thing we were not in a hurry; service was really slow. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and non-smiling. If your pressed for time then this is NOT the place for you. Service takes a very long time just to have someone come over to take a drink order. pizza is ok... thin crust which I prefer. The anti pasta appetizer was good as well and they have Peroni on draft... this is place is right when you get past immigration so you still have a train to go before you get to the gates. I gave it a 2 Star as the food is a 3 but service was a 2. Staff is very nice but with no sense of it being an airport Resturant.... read more

My favourite place to eat at HKIA. If you are in a hurry, they have a fast menu: a soup, a pasta or a choice of three pizzas. In and out in twenty minutes, guaranteed. That plus a long Peroni or a nice red, and you're ready for your flight! read more

So very surprised with this place and in a good way. This is the 4th time we've been in Hong Kong airport And each time have had a shocking experience food wise. Having to kill 4 hours before our flight we decided to come here and try our luck. A few wines and a couple of pizzas later we are quite happy. Service was good too and again something we are not used to in Hong Kong! I've read the other reviews and we had a 3 hour layover so we weren't in any rush but I did have to ask someone to take our order but once the order was in the staff ran our food out with the Large Caesar salad with excellent flavor I would recommend and the American Pizza was a thin crust masterpiece. My wife didn't want the more gourmet options such as the Peking Duck Pizza but still enjoyed the dinner. And don't worry when they tell it takes 20 minutes for the food to come out it was closer to 10 minutes. At the end of the dinner dessert was offered but no one followed up and we had to ask for the check. One more downside is if you have been to Hong Kong its expensive here $60 USD for coke, iced tea a salad and Pizza. read more

Had a plane cancel a flight and ended with a 8 hour layover so food was in order. After walking around a while decided on eating at Pizza express. Not being adventurous today pizza was my choice. I was seated quickly but it took a while for someone to come to take my order. The pizza was good and what I was wanting. The price was comparable to most pizza places. I would consider eating here again on a future trip but there are many choices at this airport. read more

Was very hungry while waiting 5 hours at the airport for my flight. My husband and I stopped by to get some food. To our surprise, the food was really delicious! We got a Hawaiian pizza meatball and dough ball, and a spaghetti carbonara plate. Staff spoke english and were nice, food took a while to come out, about 30mins. read more

This is my first time EVER to give a bad review for ANYTHING. I got the worst service in my life here and I feel so humiliated. My friends and I are a bunch of very patient and polite people; but yes, unfortunately we are from mainland China, with black hair, and apparently the waitresses here hated us simply because of this. In short， we've been waving hands after seated for ten minutes just to get THE MENU, another several minutes for forks and knifes, and more than an hour for all dishes to be served right. (And yes, we got the wrong dish and it seems that the waitresses here had no idea what is called a set meal and what it includes.) When I was waving my hands to the waitresses and saying excuse me, just to get the menu, at least three waitresses standing right in front of me or passing right by my side pretended they didn't see me AT ALL in TEN MINUTES. However they DID notice every other table around me. Apparently our table was invisible because we are the only Chinese guests in the area. Even if this is a busy restaurant, I think it is very basic human manner to at least look at me and say something to me, and I wouldn't mind waiting for some time if I was treated normally. Not to mention the waitresses here are not busy at all. We are quiet, polite, articulated in our order and we ordered a lot of food. We are normal customers PAYING FOR YOUR VERY BASIC SERVICE. Back home I would probably give pizza express 3 stars max, but I tell at Hong Kong airport it is genuinely actually really really good. Why is probably the question you are asking right now. Well when your flight is delayed this is a tranquil hideaway away from the rest of the airport which is completely full of frenetic hustle and loud noise. Not bad noise or hustle, but it can be overpowering. PE have grabbed themselves a great spot overlooking the runway, it's big, airy, modern and has a very restful feel to it. I had a great pizza loaded with Italian sausage, cream cheese and Italian herbs. I afraid I forget the name, but it was thin base and lovely. Chilli Olive oil on the side and a carafe of Pinot Grigio, it almost made me forget my flight was 4 hours delayed. Top quality food (yes in pizza express) good service, amazing decor and venue. Maybe five stars, not quite as it was very very pricey and it still is a chain TBH. read more

Pizza Express has redefined airport dining. Great service and great food. During a recent trip to Hong Kong, my kids were hungry and wanted to eat before boarding the flight. I thought we would be relegated to fast food. I took a flyer and asked the hostess at pizza express if they could get us in and out in 30 mins. When she said yes, I was not sure what to expect coming from the kitchen. Rosela, the operations manager personally served our table because she was aware of our tight schedule. She was very courteous and kept us on track without pressuring us. We ordered the Margherita pizza and a pasta Alfredo with sausage. Food arrived 6 mins after we placed our order. Both dishes were excellent. If this restaurant were located in Hong Kong, I would go there again on my next visit. A must try for any one flying out of Hong Kong. read more

Don't go here for breakfast.... go anywhere else.... service sucks balls and they obviously don't care. Food is terrible....: 45 min wait for the mistake. Eggs under cooked and bacon cold....Fffffff this place seriously management needs to be fired asap and kitchen. How did anyone enjoy it. Pizza express is one of the place where I found vegetarian meal. I got a spaghetti which was awesome to taste and satiating. Initially I find they've charged me more but then the quality, quantity and service makes up for everything. read more

Stay away. Especially at breakfast. We ordered the pancakes, they came out cold. When I asked the manager about it he informed me that THEY ARE PRE-COOKED AND THEY JUST WARM IT UP. He brought us out new, warmer pancakes, and they tasted like powder. The eggs were also clearly powder and don't taste quite right. Of the three breakfast dishes we ate the only thing worth having was the croissant, Italian sausage, and the bread. All 3 of these wildly unsatisfying plates for a total of $250 HKD which is approximately $32.50 USD. This place is a joke and if you're hungry just head across for some Chinese food. Got two pizzas and one I asked for extra mushrooms. Got charged about $3-4 for barely any maybe like 3-5 on one slice on the whole pizza. Also after getting the bill I see a service charge. Really? You're going to charge people for a service that you're suppose to provide and let me add, service isn't that great either. I was told by a waitress that they tax in Hong Kong...seriously?? I haven't been taxed anywhere but you're restraunt is different from the rest of HK? What a joke! Also the bald guy, I think he's the manager, I asked him the same question and was told they charge a 10% tax that was on the menu.
