That's a great price, and I figure if even the food is awful, it's still not much more than two drinks. As others said, this place is somewhat a hidden gem. Its entrance is a narrow commercial building entrance on Nathan Road, right by Hillwood Road, closer to Jordan than TST. Located on the second floor, the big windows look out to verdant shades, totally blocking out the hustle and bustle outside. The price of afternoon tea has increased, but at HKD128, still a fair price if no longer a steal. We ordered flavored fresh-squeezed lemonades (or you can choose tea, coffee or soda), and our food arrived on a wooden board: two hamburger sliders, two salmon croissants, bacon wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, BBQ fries and brownies. All is quite tasty except for the mac & cheese, which I find really bland. Applegreen bills itself as offering Californian cuisine. Their menu has lots of salad, and pasta ranging from carbonara to tequila lime chicken to mentaiko. There are also carne asado quesadilla, Jamaican chicken wings, jambalaya flatbread and more, just to show how international the menu is.

For Hong Kong, this restaurant is quite spacious. I've always been able to grab a seat every time I came in the afternoon. I've tried many different dishes here and usually it doesn't disappoint! What I like the most about Applegreen is that they're not just a salad house. They have a pretty wide array of dishes and drinks on the menu. But of course, if you want to eat "healthier", they have plenty of salads to choose from. Most of their salad has "half" servings, which is actually misleading. Their half portion is enough for 2-3 people if you order it with a second or third dish. Their "full" serving of the salad is humongous. Probably more suited for 3-5 people. Just be warned! Also as a tip, if you order salad you can request FREE banana bread to go with it. For their other dishes, they have your typical pastas, but what I like is their Flatbreads. Think of it as a very thin crust pizza. Quite tasty and large in portion. They also have some more unique items from their varying breakfast menu, such as honey glazed bacon, eggs benedict, or other experimental items. As for their drinks, most of their tea-juices have unlimited refill! Surprisingly an uncommon thing in Hong Kong. Applegreen is moderately priced. I remember liking the place, but was only ever here for drinks. Recently wanted to eat something in Price Edward because I rarely ever go there, and I found this old friend on Yelp! Came here on a Saturday afternoon, and was surprised how packed this place was. Even though we arrived at a time after the usual lunch rush (around 2pm) we still had to wait a good 30 mins. I really like the decor in this place. The restaurant is plastered with travel-theme everywhere. Such as posters, items, and souvenirs all around. I wonder if the owner actually collected all these items on their travel? Anyway, its very cool to see a little part of the world every corner you look. In the middle of the restaurant there's also a mini stage, which I guess musicians perform at on certain days. On the corner seats, there's a big tv showing videos of the performers. Overall, the vibe of this restaurant is very nice. For the food, they have a decent variety of western food available. We ended up trying the cheese shrimp pasta and the chicken yogurt pita sandwich. We ordered these because its a little different than another typical western restaurant. The pasta was pretty good! Not overly cheesy. But I was disappointed with the pita. The sandwich was just way too bland, and the mini salad that came with it was also bland. Both meals were lunch sets which included a drink and bread + soup. The bread and soup were both decent. Although Alchemist Cafe is a little out of the way for me normally, I think I will return some more in the future to try some of their other dishes.

It is ridiculously cheap, only 38HKD for the beef brisket noodle with a drink (hot milk tea, cold milk tea, or honey lemon). Atmosphere (*** out of *****); Typical Spartan Hong Kong mom and pop restaurant. What sets it apart is that this place is very clean. Service (*** out of *****); Typical budget Hong Kong restaurant service with only one waitress for an entire restaurant serving 14 or more people. Bless her heart, this place can get really packed during peak hours, but that gal still manages to get your food out quick while everything is still hot. She doesn't check on you during your meal like in a Western restaurant, though. However, the restaurant is really small, so just flag her down if you need anything. She keeps a careful watch over all her diners on her little stool in the corner by the door. On the whole, the food here is not bad only of you want comfort food. Health freaks, stay away, stay very far away. There isn't much decor, don't think they put much thought into it at all. I would prefer more of a bar environment for the food they serve but I guess some would consider this proper dinner!?
