They even have Alchimiste beers from Quebec that I have yet try even I live in Canada! I can keep coming back and untappd with all these beers! Beer Menu is really well organized divided by style and at least if you are not into hoppy beers you can just forget all those in the super hoppy section. If you are not a beer drinker, no need to worry! Wine, Gin, Whiskey Tequlia and more! And if you are not even a drinker and got drag in here... their non alcoholic cocktails is as delicious. A coworker and I came here at the recommendation of the owner of HK Brewcraft. We quickly found a seat at the bar (positioning ourselves under an A/C unit) and had prompt service. The bar staff let us try a few beers before ordering full pours. I really enjoyed a cask from the Hong Kong Beer Company, Lucky Monkey. For food I had the fish & chips, which was a huge portion, an I really enjoyed it. This place definitely seems like a tourist pass-through - for people a little culture-shocked and want a taste of home. I admit, when I'm in China for so long, I feel the same way. Once inside, it definitely did not feel like you were in Hong Kong. Just in case you are looking for something more "authentic", this is not it. It feels like the place was picked up out of London and dropped here in HK. Fine by me, but may not be what everyone is looking for. The staff here spoke English, and the menu was in English as well, so no problems communicating with the team. We decided to stop here for a few beers one afternoon during our trip to Hong Kong. There were only a handful of other parties there and none of them appeared to be Hong Kong natives. The place is spacious and well decorated. There is a bar in the center that has nice seats as well as tables around the bar and farther back. It has a pretty low key and casual atmosphere. The menu features a long list of beers from all over the world. They have a length draught list, which we ordered several beers off of. I had a tropical sour that is brewed in HK and it was delicious. The prices were also reasonable. We enjoyed the Globe and would recommend it as a great place to enjoy some beer! read more

I think all the British expats must know this place like the back of their hand, it's basically a British pub transported here. One of my Brit co-worker even says the savory pies here are better than some places back in the UK. I wouldn't know anything about that but the beer selection here is huge. They classify it in a lot of different ways and they have a bunch of taps of mostly local stuff. The staff is pretty friendly but when if you want help in narrowing down options or even talking about the beers it's kind of hit or miss and if you want your beer order taken correctly it might be better if you order straight from the bar. I did end up coming for their Sunday roast dinner-again something I don't know anything about but the soup they had as a starter was great-enough to spark the envy of those that didn't get it and the roast itself was massive and came with all the trimmings: peas, broccoli, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, enough for two meals. It's enough to make you think that British food isn't so bad. read more

The location itself is enormous, meaning you normally can get a spot, and I like the quirky, rustic decor. The prices are reasonable too. If you are looking to unwind in an old school English pub grub and beer, this is a good place to consider. The Globe is exactly what you would imagine a pub to be - a dark, cavernous space, a bar, stools, a juke box playing classic British rock, tables scattered around and servers who are casual, quick and efficient. Despite the simplicity of what a pub entails, their offering is so much more. Several blackboards line the long walls of the pub, where daily specials like delicious lamb pie have been quickly scrawled. Once you sit down, they pass you a clipboard with pages (and pages and pages) of beer that they offer both on tap and by the bottle from all over the world - including local beer on tap. We had dinner there and were able to try many different kinds of beer before settling on our preferred brew of choice. It was fun to taste them all - just make sure to save some space for the meal as it is filling. The food is traditional - several variations of the pot pie, Scottish eggs, smashed peas, fish & chips are but a few of them. Try the Scottish eggs as a starter. They serve you a fresh egg with a gooey middle, wrapped around ground meat flavored with many spices that is all gently fried so you have the crunch of the fried meat and the buttery softness of the yolk all in one bite. The eggs are paired with a fresh salad with a vinaigrette and a chutney so you get a hit of acid to counterbalance the fat. It's great with a good IPA or an ale. If you have a chance to, try the lamb pie. The flavors are balanced and will hit the spot if you are looking for a warm, hefty meal. I would recommend the fish and chips for those of you looking for fare from the sea. Their fish are battered and fried in one large fillet. Some may say it is overly battered, but that's where I suggest you ask for malt vinegar. I've had this meal many times in some great pubs in London, New England and DC and this dish compares in the flakiness of the fish and all that fried goodness that's balanced by the malt vinegar. The only dish I would half-heartedly recommend is the beef pie. It is a bit too acidic for my taste. I would suggest changing the wine or beer they used to make the dish so patrons are not hit with too much acid and not enough of the warm heartiness that is characteristic of such a dish. All-in-all, it's a good place for a hearty meal and a great beer. Enjoy! read more

This is by far the best place to get your hands on some damn good craft beers in the 852. You're probably sick and tired of knocking back Heinekens, Carlsbergs, Blue Girl and Stellas. Well, The Globe has got your back and you'll probably be able to find some good craft brews from your home country (or town). The ambiance here is what you'd expect from a British style pub. Everything from the seating arrangement to the stools and environment is what you'd expect from a pub. They are super quick here and will seat you right away. Or you can just grab a seat at the bar and have your brews immediately served! If you're going to drink here, please go with something you can't find elsewhere. Don't be that person ordering a typical beer such as San Miguel or Carlsberg... The menu is very extensive and very detailed. You'll find everything from the alcohol percentage of the beer, to the type of beer is it, along with its origin. Everything can be found from all corners of the globe (hence the name)! read more

PIES PIES PIE PIES and more PIES! I love The Globe for a number a of reasons and not so much for a few, but on with the good stuff first! Did I mention their pies are awesome? I've had my fair share of meat pies and Globe does it right! The sad part is that the pies take between 30-40 minutes to prepare, but be patient, its worth it! After having a few pints of Murphy's with some buds, we get our pies. They switch up the menu every now and then but you will usually get your staples in there. Pies come with your choice of chips or mash...can't lose with either one in my opinion. Everyone has their own technique when it comes to conquering a pie...gravy over the pie? Make a hole in the dead center and then gravy? Cutting it up and dipping it?! Well I've tried them all and there is no way for the pies here to taste bad! They have an impressive list of beers for your picking and also offer a holiday meal for larger groups coming to get festive. Book ahead and you'll be sure to snag a comfy little booth on the weekends. I have to say, after going on and on about their pies, that they do offer other foods. I've had their holiday meals, but as to their a la carte, nope...I've never had the strength to resist the deliciousness that is their pies. They say that the globe is the greatest place in Hong Kong to get a pie. Well, as a pie connoisseur, I think I would have to agree, but only to a certain extent. The range of pies they serve is excellent; cheese and onion Cornish pasties for the vegetarians, chicken pies, steak and kidney pies, and a variety of other British staples. These are all served with mashed potatoes or chips, and beans or peas, with lashings of gravy. If pies are not your thing, then you can do one of two things; choose something else on the menu, or just leave. The Globe is known for its pies, and that should be respected! Alongside to these great pie options, the globe serves a good variety of drinks, wine, spirits, and beers and ales, many of which come from the UK, or the local HK breweries (yes, HKers do brew beer!). There is also a very good roast option during the weekend. My only criticisms of The Globe are; the whole venue is quite dark. It is a sort of basement bar, and even though the entrance is on Graham Street, the fact that it is buried into the hill, means that there are only small slot windows near the ceilings towards the front. The second is the service, which is unfortunately very slow. This is by no means a fault of the staff, more a staff management issue of not having enough wait staff during their busy periods. During said busy periods, try to get a booking as it can be difficult to get a seat, and even though you are in a British "All-Bar-One" style bar/pub, no-one wants to eat at the bar like a hobo. It's just not cricket. If you're an ex-pat, hankering for a little taste of home, you could do a lot worse then come to The Globe. I would recommend it, and I would definitely stick to the chicken or steak pies. Yummers! read more

I'd prefer to give the Globe 3.5 stars.. More beers than you can shake a stick at and plenty of food options.l, with portions definitely on the large end of the spectrum. Tonight we had the Chicken Leek & Ale pie, the Goats Curry Pie, and the Fish and Chips. Pies were very good although the chips (as you'll see in my photos) were a tad overcooked. We also asked for Baked Beans and which were unfortunately only slightly warm. Fish batter was crispy as it should be. Service was a bit hit and miss; one lady was polite and somewhat enthusiastic although another was ok to start but lost her way when the beer we asked for wasn't available. I've eaten here a few times before and each time come away wondering whether I enjoyed it. I guess I did. Will I be back? I guess yes I will read more

HK was run by the British at one point in time, and I wanted to get British food while in HK! My colleagues and I went to The Globe and once you walk in, it really was like we were in the UK. :) I had their CHICKEN PIE, with beans. It was heavy as hell, but definitely flavorful. It was nice to try, but a bit too much for me. I knocked down a star because the server that served us gave my boss a dirty beer glass with lip marks on it, and tried to justify it by rinsing it, and then still leaving water in the glass. We were beyond grossed out, and my boss just drank his beer out of the bottle. ENJOY! read more

Pretty chill spot for some delicious HK craft beer. The Globe has a surprisingly large selection of craft beers from around the globe, suiting its name right. You can also choose different sizes for your beer - 210mL, 445mL, and even a 2L takeout! Service was pretty friendly and helpful with making recommendations. I tried the Young Master classic and was not let down. There are also board games and cards available so you can play games with good company as you enjoy your drink. The only downside is that it gets a bit loud, like all other pubs. Just might not be so ideal to have deep talks about life here, but that's quite alright :P read more

This pub is huge, especially when compared to others around here. This makes you wonder who thought 2 female toilets was sufficient. The queue was ridiculous. The beer selection is impressive and the staff is knowledgeable and patient as you try some samples. The negative is that the place feel soulless to me. We ended up at the Globe thrice in five days when in Hong Kong. Yes, we really did love it that much. This roomy, well-decorated British pub has a mesmerizing array of beers on offer. Any beer-loved will be paralyzed by choice here--I guarantee it. I love that they feature solid amounts of HK craft beer in addition to selections from (literally) all around the world. Happy hour runs until 8 PM, and is a pretty solid deal (especially for the draft pours). Also, thank god that the British pub does pints right by pouring them at 20oz apiece--I would've lost faith in humanity otherwise. If you're a visitor from elsewhere, do yourself a favor and get something by Moonzen. They're a Hong Kong-based brewery, and they turn out some kickass stuff. I didn't try any food, but it looked like just standard pub fare. This is a pretty popular spot on Friday and Saturday nights, especially with the expat crowd. Weeknights tend to be much less raucous. read more

This place is good if you are looking for craft beers - especially locally brewed beer. This is the only pub that we could find that would sell HK beer. However, this is filled with expats and tourists. To the point, that at one part of the night I forgot I was in HK and thought I was back in Sydney. The food here is good, but again, nothing on the menu is from HK or tied to the awesome cuisine outside. It is worth popping your head in for the beer, but I wouldn't spend the night here, unless you want to watch the football or hang out with expats. read more

The Globe, located on Graham Road, has the largest selection of beer I have seen at any bar. To get there, walk along Lyndhurst Terrace - the bar is right opposite that blue wall with the paintings of colorful buildings (I'm sure you've seen people post pictures of themselves in front of it on Facebook!) Back to the beer - their menu is pretty creative and is in the form of a little clipboard. There's page after page after page of just beers, and they're organized by the types of beers they fall under like dark beers, hoppy beers and even seriously hoppy beers. I'd never even heard of these terms before! I can spend a good ten minutes deciding which beer to get - not because I know lots about beer and am trying my best to make an informed decision, but all the choices are really just overwhelming! There are also alcohol percentages next to each type of beer for your reference too. The Globe has different beers or ciders on tap every time, so make sure to check what it is. I like that the bar has a sort of old school English-y vibe to it with its simple decor. They have a pretty good food menu and their fries - or chips, should I say - are great for sharing. They come in two sizes, and I find that the smaller size is good even for a group of five. I love the dip that comes with them - I don't know what it is, but it's really good and complements the fries really well. The Globe is actually famous for their pies and I've read good things about them, but I've never given them a go. Oh, and there's no service charge here so that's always a plus! Give The Globe a visit the next time you need a nice bar for a gathering with friends. It's a great atmosphere with an even greater selection of beer - you'll be spoilt for choice here and it's only a matter of time before you're back again for another round! read more

So I've been here a number of times and have many wonderful memories here. I'd give it a 3.4 if I could, but Yelp insists on its 5 point scale and I rarely round up... so here goes: Pros: Great atmosphere Excellent selection of craft beers Damn fine bloody marys Friendly service staff Cons: Difficult to have a conversation even if the person is seated right next to you because of the noise level Pricey Food is very salty and greasy. (Really because of the food that I can't give this place a 4 or higher.) Now, I can't tell you anything special about the beers because I am still a newbie with beer. But I can tell you that they do have an extensive beer menu and easy to read. The atmosphere is what I liked most. It's very low-key. There's a couple T.V.'s to watch your games, as the waitresses continuously fill up your beer cups. Considering that this place is located in the Mid-Levels you will find many expats and tourists. They do sell the local HK beers. But, don't expect to get a "feeling of locals" here. I think it's meant to cater to expats anyway. The food. By my standards, the prices are on the high end- 160-250hkd per main dish. But, well worth it! Jerk chicken burger and the beef burger is a YES. It's a big burger so come hungry. The quality of meat and sides ( fat fries or salad) is very good. I couldn't finish my jerk chicken so I took half home to bring to lunch the next day and it was still tasty! I'll try a pie nexttime! Cheers! read more

Beer heaven. I actually quite like wit beer. It is just the stupid calorie reason that I try to avoid it. Also the saying 'beer is for losers' quite upset me. When I was way younger, I used to drink a lot Hoegardden and then it develops to Vedett when I was living in Europe. I particularly love Belgium and Dutch white beer. Not a fan of the Irish ale... I even saw three beer making documentary thanks to Heineken. All of these knowledge are becoming useless once I became a wine person. Globe brought it back. The tick menu tells you how rich they are for their selection. Haha, La chouffe! I wanna make my Hong Kong friends try them. And of course, I found two of my favourite from Benelux. Loved this place! Comfortable environment with a wide variety of craft beers. Staff is willing to introduce and explain the difference among them. Appreciate their patience. The space was roomy and feels like a western style pub, which was a nice change from many places in HK that are a bit cramped and almost claustrophobic. I went with Black Star heffeweizen which was excellent, and bought a founders KBS to go. I didn't eat so I can't comment on the food, but it was a cool place to hang out and had an extensive list of beers from all over. Main downsides for me were the high prices (then again, it's alcohol in Hong Kong) and the number of tourists/expats. We ended up getting the Young Master Classic IPA ($65/pint) and a Lemongrass Lagino ($60/glass). The Lagino was really quite good--it tastes like a mint mojito. With the anticipation of a return trip to Hong Kong for New Years Eve celebrations, I can't help but think of one of my favorite desitnations. The Globe! Between Roundhouse and this place a mere block and a half away, you're at ground zero for the craft beer revolution in this rather amazing town. The Globe is a brit style pub in Central just off the mid level escalator and hollywood road...and it's lovely. Even on the busiest days you step up the hill, open the doors, and you're instantly chilled out by the relaxed atmosphere. Lovely, low key decor, a mix of ramped up brit gastro pub food (thing pies on steroids) and inventive but hearty bar fare, and the beer...I generally only drink beer when I'm in a walking town (so I can work the stuff off!), so in HK I definitely partake. They've got it all Kagua from Japan, Mikkeller from everywhere...their list is about 6 pages longer than their menu and the best part is it's virtually all accessible for happy hour. Oh! And they stay open late for Premier League matches. Just thinking about it has me excited to be back! read more
