Holy hops! Seriously sweet suds! Big buckets of brown brewed beer! Awesomely aromatic awakening ales! This place makes me want to alliterate its deliciousness. Yes, nice craft beer selection, you got it! Continental Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, and USA are all represented with some notables being Mikkeller, Coedo, Baird, and Andersen Valley. I tend to go for the weirdest fruit/vegetable beer I can find, so seeing brews featuring sweet potato and miso made me smile. Wah! I was also so lucky to find an intense and amazing chocolate stout the first time I visited. Rich with dark malts and a smooth head, it was fantastic to sip out of its tulip. I don't even like chocolate, but in a beer done right, it can really shine. The second time, it wasn't on tap any longer (things rotate frequently) but I was able to have many tasters before making up my mind. Don't take tasters for granted. Some of the competition in the neighborhood can be a little stingy, so it's an extra benefit that the staff here realize the value of a free taster or three. The only downside was that on my first visit, an incredibly loud and fratty group of bros was chillin inside, drinking shots. Shots, seriously, in a beer bar? Regardless, I'll be back. Will have to try the food some time soon. Keep up the awesome, Roundhouse!

The amount of craft beer bars in HK is quite astounding, it feels like there is one around just about every corner. I get the impression this was probably one of the first ones and it is really good at what it does. It has the option to have 21 taps on the go. They give out iPads with the drinks menu on it so they can update it constantly with new beers. Inside it has the chalkboard and industrial decor that you would expect for a modern craft beer bar. So far all so good. I went twice while in HK and I should be giving it five stars. I wish they had one in my home city. If they did I would visit it. So why 4 stars? Both times I went there was under ten beers actually on draft, no where near the possible 20 plus. Also a couple of them were ciders!! I think a bit of complacency has crept in and this place is perhaps losing its edge. You need to have more than 7 beers on draft on a Saturday night if your claiming to be a speciality craft beer bar. Still very cool and worth a visit if you love beer, but could of been so much better.

Great beer place. Further down you have Glxxx serve all the bottled beer. Here is about brewery. I get to know this spot as it helps local and recognized brewery to be tasted. The menu is a thumbs-up. General rating, sweetness, bitterness are all clearly listed with 5 start scale rating. Making choice based on your paleo way easier. I got the Dead Frog which is surprising. Fresh tap. Amazing. My friend also ordered his second a Dead Frog. The food. The BBQ platter was delivered in a tray. Sausage, spare ribs, beef briest, pulled pork. The pulled pork is fairly looking but awesome. More juicy, tender and layers than the rest.

I love the Roundhouse, just not this one. When you have two places that bear the same name, you can't help but to compare. One offers Fried chicken and fried fish, one offers ribs and burger. The WanChai shop is clearly the winner to be cheaper and do not have "Limited" marked all over the menu. They both offer beers, but the WanChai shop has more Choices and greater varieties. At least at WanChai I had 5 to 6 beers I wanted to try and they rotate. In here, I can't even find one I am interested. Soho location has more staffs, but yet I felt being served more systematically. The worst is that the background music got so loud that it became noise. You can't really talk and nearly hurt your ears. One thing that saved the day was the food. For ribs and wings, this is among the best I have tried in Hong Kong. And the food totally reminded me of the Rib festival and all the wings and beer pubs in Canada.

So much YES!!!!! Brisket cheese fries were pretty good. The giant beef short rib was delicious especially when accompanied by the creamy Mac and cheese! 4 BBQ sauces to choose from (the mustard one was yum and it's not usually my thing) But the overall winner here at The Roundhouse is the amazing Sheila ... Bartender, server, masseuse, friend :) Come for the amazing beer selection and Delish BBQ and enjoy the bonus of a fun and entertaining staff!

Dry ribs, dry sausage and wonder bread. Not so good.

Not very good. The out-of-the-way location takes you away from the action of SoHo, but having moved here from the US, I wanted to see if there was a legit place to get a nice rack of ribs or slab of cornbread. This was not the place. I went for lunch and ordered the ribs and sausage combo. As you can see in the picture, the ribs were an unappetizing dry black color, and the sausage was equally dry and overdone. Though a selection of sauces were brought with the meal, none were particularly good. The topper was the inclusion of two slices of wonder bread on the plate. I find that the best ethnic restaurants in Hong Kong are run by former residents of the country of the restaurant. I can say with confidence that no one associated with this place has ever set foot in the US south.

Great place to find Texas style BBQ in Hong Kong. They have an excellent selection of craft beers on tap and in bottles.

Sunday night, popped in for a quickie and very glad we did. A fine selection of beers in the board and the staff are very keen to help you taste and choose the perfect bevy for you palate. For a snack we shared some ribs; boy they were great. Possibly the best ribs I've had in HK. Another quick mention for he staff, very welcoming and this makes it all the more a pleasure to come back - for sure

Hostile Management Ruined a Professional Group Event…read more We visited last night after calling ahead the day before and being explicitly told no booking was needed for a large group. Yet, when we arrived with 12 directors and professionals on a quiet Monday night, the restaurant was almost empty, and the manager immediately told us off for not booking. He talked down to me, avoided eye contact, and made us feel entirely insignificant. We tried to have a calm conversation and mentioned we were spending money on a two-hour social gathering, but he restricted us to sit in the corner and strictly ordered us not to mingle with his patrons. He flatly stated he didn't care about our money, only his 'regulars.' To make matters worse, they forgot one of our food orders, and some of the food we did receive was subpar. It's a shame because the floor staff were sweet and kind, but hospitality starts from the top. I have never felt more unwelcome and treated with such hostility at an establishment. Avoid this place! Wasn't in the mood to take a picture I'm afraid.

There are more options in bottles. I really love how the place has two sides opening up to the streets, with no French window or door. A variety of tables and chairs provide comfortable lounging. Great to just sit there, watch all the hustle bustle outside while you slowly, quietly sip a beer. Or use their fast wifi to catch up on life. I don't like dingy dark pubs so this is great. I can sit here all day, except for my ambitious travel itinerary. My own grip is that the beer is rather pricey. A glass is about US$10, and a flight like US$23. I get it beer in Hong Kong is expensive compare to the U.S., and this is Central, but "ouch" says my wallet. I can recommend this place though, if you want to try some local beers.

However, fast forward to 2016 and now Hongkongers seem to be completely spoiled for choice (and I'm very jealous)!!! Craft Brew & Co was probably my favourite of the many craft beer bars we visited. As you'd expect with this type of bar its located in the hip and popular So-Ho area. You're gonna find plenty of bars selling bog standard lager around here, but not Craft Brew. These guys really stand out with their rather aggressive marketing of, "Craft not Crap" and you won't find any boring beers in here. To be honest these guys had some outstanding beer on when I was in. I was drinking their very own Kung Fu Lager and Summer Ale as I'd never seen them in the UK. Both were great examples of a modern, hoppy beer. They were super cold and refreshing, not cheap, (as you would expect) but totally worth it in my opinion. With its simple wooden tables and decoration, this is definitely like a craft beer bar you'd get in Europe. The music was pretty hit and miss (I mean Take That, really??) but it kinda made for a fun night. The staff in Craft Brew were really great and allowed me to sample several different beers before finding the ones I was after. This is a top destination for beer lovers, if I lived in HK I'd be in here a lot!

It otherwise had a very pleasant flavour profile. They also made a decent gin and tonic. I tried the Calamari, a Hawaiian and Supreme pizza, jalapeno cheddar fries and potato skins. The Calamari was good, crispy on the outside, and only slightly chewy on the inside, though the tzatziki that came with it was a bit too plain. It could've been more acidic, and had more cucumber, but otherwise it was a nice effort, considering how Greek yogurt is hard to come by in Hong Kong. I the Hawaiian and Supreme pizza are okay. The Supreme pizza had a strange bitterness to the crust, but the Hawaiian pizza was quite good, soft crust, flavourful toppings and stringy cheese. The jalapeno cheddar fries were crunchy, but the use of those individually vacuum packaged "cheddar" that they sell on at grocery stores and try to pass off as "cheese" really let the dish down. I mean sure, it's not a particularly expensive item, but people like their cheddar fries a bit gooey, not slimy. The potato skins were good, with just enough toppings to match the potatoes. They also used proper cheese cheddar cheese (strangely enough), so I was pleasantly surprised by it. I like how this location is much more spacious than their other Wan Chai locations, while still maintaining the same mid-range prices on drinks. Having brewed in-house craft beers is a huge plus for this place, but it seems that the brews just need to be polished a bit more before they can be truly great.
