This had to be the worst dining experience of a lifetime. Yes, that bad. We were seated to the left of the bar as you enter, near where the staff rests and prepares silverware etc. Which also means we were out of the view of the emcee or greeter who also manages the "to go or express" desk and the cash register. We ordered, and then it went all wrong. First we were delivered food but weren't given utensils to eat it with. When I asked the staff who delivered the food the reply was "right away". 5 minutes later, after trying to get the attention of 2 other staff members (By the way a table of 6 near us was literally raising ALL of their hands to get staff's attention), I just went to get the utensils and napkins myself. After I did, then the same staffer that had forgotten us brought some water for us in a pitcher. BUT WE DIDNT HAVE GLASSES! Instead of getting us glasses, she walked away! I had to go to the bar to get our waters.
There was a bartender busing making sour mix (I used to bartend), and 3 other staff busy looking busy but basically hiding in the back area behind the bar ignoring patrons. AMAZINGLY DISAPPOINTING.
The food was worse than the service ... the salad had brown spoiled leaves, the dressing tasted foul (as in spoiled not refrigerated properly). The pork chop had a cream based sauce that used wine. Unfortunately, the wine was bitter, and like the salad dressing was rancid. I asked the emcee to check with the chef because I thought the sauce was off. Also, the pork seemed pinker than it should be but my primary concern was the sauce. I was told that this was "western cooking' and that this is how it is. Perhaps I was not used to it.
Um... I was born and spent most of my life in the USA, and studies in Europe as a teen. I don't think my being ethnically Chinese has any thing to do with rancid milk products.
I did ask if there were eggs in the pizza dough, but never got an answer. with 2 kids who were starving (with mild egg allergies) we just decided to take a chance ... risky but we had come off a flight, so if something happened (low risk) we would be ok.
The worse came when they added their own tip to the bill. 18% if I recall.
If there was service... sure... there wasnt. FYI... kids are fine. I had diarrhea from the sauce.
I think Mr. Wolfgang Puck would be ashamed to have his name associated with this location... Expensive for less than fresh food. no Service. just his name. read more
